Decent bonus if you're planning on getting this monitor.
But main appeal is the G9 was $1499 USD when released, but was $2799 here.
This new version is $2499 USD, but RRP in Aus is strangely $2999.

i think it’s for the caster bundle, that retails at $350ish?
I dunno, $3,000 for RRP of $400 doesn't seem like much of a discount.
I'm certain it's a crazy good monitor but jeez. My first car cost less than this.
Just bought Alienware 55 inch AW5520QF OLED Gaming Monitor 4K under 2800.
Why would you buy that over an LG OLED?
I m not an expert, size I guess, and may be half price…
@The Value: Sorry, I didnt get it, Its a TV not a monitor, seems deal has expired
HDMI 2.1*
4K 120Hz 4:4:4 @ 10 bits
I didnt found pixel density or the brightness.
U reckon this would be much better using as a everyday monitor than Alienware 55?
I new a little bit, but not guru like u. lol
@nng526: lol I'm no guru but the Alienware is a 3 year old monitor.
The lack of HDMI 2.1 is huge.
The LG OLED is much brighter and newer. (C1)
55 inch is a HUGE monitor no matter what brand you pick. Maybe consider the 48 inch OLED.
@The Value: Thanks, that really helpful
Nice
Thanks for letting us know bruh.
Terrible monitor. I tried that beast for a while, but it was too reflective and too big. The glossy screen was a disaster.
I ended up with the G9. So much better.
Though I'd seriously consider the LG 48 CX or C1.
I cant find LG 48 CX any where, I got philip 43 currently,
I am not a gamer, so I am not playing game, just watching movie over internet instead watching tv etc.
what ur mean by glossy screen… to be honest I havent not seen the real thing yet…
LG Cx 48 is glossy also
If you have a backlit keyboard it will annoy the crap out of u on dark scenes.
Overall tho, its a small price to pay for all that oled goodness :)
I dont play games.
I thought 400 cd is decent, u got other good recommendations?
400 is decent for non hdr.
When you talk hdr (as oled should be) 400nits is not hdr lol.
@krisspy: even for 2700 price?
@nng526: Yeah bro especially if you are just watching movies etc see if you can get the LG C1. For $2700 it is a better TV media viewer hands down. Not to mention updates. Built in apps such as Apple airplay 2. Much brighter screen with good HDR.
400nits is very low compared what you can get now. $2700 will get you the 55 with some change. Otherwise get the 48 even cheaper. The CX is just one model older and not as good but still better than what you are looking at from Dell.
My LG C9 is now 3+ years old I game on it every day no burn in, dare I say the reason Dell or whatever is doing this screen is due to the unusually low brightness but that bit you can check out.
@BusMan247: Thank mate, already request cancel the order, looking for
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/638495
LG OLED55C1PTB 55” 4K TV as every day monitor.
unfortunately I missed the deal…
@BusMan247: can you sit and watch closely using as PC monitor? is that comfortable for your eyes? some TV you actually can see the single pixel
hey how did you get it for under 2800?
DELL 20OFF Ebay deal, I been watching it recently, bought it straightway when it is 20 off, only sold 2 before they end the listing.
On the same night, with student offer you can do up to 27% off, only lasted for few hour, I missted that one, if I made it, I can bring the price down to 26xx, but I believe they did not sell any.
I am end up with Alienware 55inch, and I am happy with it so far, they design it 400cd on purposely to prevent static image burn in. and refresh panel and pixel, which I believe TV does not offer.
Thanks for answer
wow resolution worse then 2x4k monitors for 4x price? Nice! Go for it!
Completely different use cases.
There are no 240hz 4k monitors to begin with as far as I know, let alone any Super Ultrawide ones.
As someone who owns 2 monitors, it is not a viable option to game in a dual monitor resolution due to the bezels. You would need 3 for it to be viable.
Will let it go.
Waiting it to be under 2k
when will it go back to 399 so I can get it
Tuesday
Why no USB-C port on this expensive monitor.
You think USB-C can output this resolution lol
Pretty damn sure USB-C cannot support a 5120x1440 monitor @ 240hz..
I've read that Samsung is chucking in a JBL Quantum One instead, which retails at $499. Given the QC on the original G9, I'd much rather pick one up through a brick and mortar store in case of returns
Can you please advise where? I didn't see it
Looks like it's US samsung site thats throwing headphones. Nothing on AUS site. Only Mr Harvey has a bonus with the pre order
I preordered this with Harvey Norman at 2.30pm, received email at 5pm saying my order has been delayed and it is on backorder with no eta.
All pre orders there get the same message. Nothing to worry
Hi - could you please give further details on which EPPs? Thanks
I just checked my student EPP and it’s listed as $2999 as well.
I just checked mine and it didn't even show up, might be for employees
Samsung employee (work for Samsung) have it listed for this price.
I checked NAB Partnership portal and the G9 Neo is not even listed, don't think 50% off deal exists.
Wow that’s actually insane. Which EPP did you get that offer from?
Crap, would also like to know haha
Wow! Where was this spotted,? Which ePP
did we ever find out what epp is needed to get this? thanks
@kimbaxiong: hey its me your brother
That explains the discount on the first gen G9
In Taiwan, preorder Neo G9 can get S21 5G 128GB for free…
And RRP is $2660, cheaper too.
$3000 for a VA panel, wew lad.
Its MiniLED btw, so that will make a huge difference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM-ED97_vKo
Oled is still superior, but honestly not by too much.
Nothing to do with backlighting, VA is just garbage in comparison to IPS due to its inherent ghosting issues which it suffers from regardless of refresh rate/response time.
You do realise that the current G9 is a VA and next to OLED is one of the fastest panels on the market right?
@cille745: And VA still suffers from ghosting issues regardless of refresh rate/response time again. Look up VA ghosting, it's just an inherent issue with the technology at present no manufacturer has really been able to rectify.
@GS9891: I agree with you, but I really don't think you understand, the odyssey G7 and G9 are quite literally the only VA panels that don't suffer from it. Have a look at Hardware Unboxed's review, at the timestamp below
https://youtu.be/FjEvsGa7yUQ?t=468
No VA black smearing at all
@cille745: are you sure?
@spad: Obviously something defective there, I'd rather go off the multiple respected testers with numbers that say otherwise
That and I actually have one
I use a VA monitor, you are greatly exaggerating the issue. Dont pretend like IPS doesnt have its own set of issues either.
Can you link an IPS monitor with comparable features? If I was shelling out on an expensive monitor, I would not consider an IPS panel, it would either be this or a smaller OLED TV.
@Vinodra: The only real advantage VA has is deeper blacks, but a good IPS will manage those well enough still, without the far more serious ghosting issues VA inherently suffers from.
@GS9891: Again, you are greatly exaggerating this ghosting issue. I use a 144hz VA monitor, it is noticeable on the windows desktop, but not at all in games.
Even so, as someone else linked, darnkess smearing is not an issue on the G7 or G9 (1st gen), so I highly doubt it will suddenly pop up again in the G9 (2nd gen)
You say the downsides of IPS are mitigated if you buy a high quality one… its almost like the same concept applies for VA?
@GS9891: IPS suffers from powdery trails, because while VA has trouble going from black (zero/off) to near black (less so in the latest faster VA), IPS sucks at going back to zero.
Previous response time testing didn't show it, but some reviewers have been updating to testing procedures that have tighter tolerance levels and are adjusted for human perception of RGB values.
@GS9891: We get your evangelism for IPS. Now name a competing product in the IPS line-up that has the same size, response time and refresh rates.
For everyone's reference as there seems to be an embargo still on reviews, check out the links below for some that have snuck through, they include local dimming testing as well as hdr, ghosting, colours etc and are rather comprehensive.

Pfft. Physical vertical height and resolution both a joke for this width. No thanks.
I see you don't like suffering from physical vertical height.
You seem to not know how ratios work. Maybe try a 4:3 instead?
My Bdm4350uc is much better sans refresh rate
It's less sharp, image quality is worse, it's slower, has less ports/features, literally worse in every other way except height, surely trolling right?
@cille745: Resolution and size mate. Still an ips. It's hardly bad
@justtoreply: Ips has trash contrast.
Had IPS for years and couldn't see shit in shadows in games like warzone.
Switched to VA and it was clear as day.
That being said va is also trash for image editing and video editing. I can see banding quite often when I never had issues with it with IPS.
Both trash in their own special ways.
@KenDiaMoi: Yeah nothing is perfect. For me, ips better.
