  • 42GB or 24GB???

    • It is total 8GB RAM (4 GB Soldered DDR4-3200 + 4 GB SO-DIMM DDR4-3200). Seems like someone has edited the post.
      SSD is 512GB.

  • 2 x 4 gb
one soldered one socked = dual channel
but really these ryzens go so good does it matter unless you have a special purpose

  • Do I buy this through unidays or lenovo cos the link is lenovo but the code doesn't work?

    • You have to click through unidays or studentbeans to get that price.

      • I see, thank you.

    • You can get the US version of the Ideapad with better specifications around the same price point from Amazon AU.

      45wh battery
      IPS screen
      AX Wifi

      • Cheers I managed to grab one though :)

    Awwww doesn't come with TB4

    • Thunderbolt 4 is an Intel owned standard. Manufacturers don't want to pay fees and royalties on a standard with unfortunately limited use and market penetration in the Windows laptop market.

This doesnt support any USB-C connectivity by the look of it, just data transfer - so is that for storage only? No Power delivery obviously, but I assume that means no Display Port either?

        • Unfortunately not at this price point

        • Yup its pretty common for AMD CPUs to not get ThunderBolt ports sadly.

There are a few unicorns with TB4 and AMD but that's pretty much universally the rule, and the unicorns are high end.

          • @Telios: Sure but plenty of low end and cpu laptops still have PD and DP on their USB-c ports

  • when i click the options for warranty upgrade via studentbeans, it doesn't come up with any options, did it come up with an option for you?

    • It comes in 2nd or 3rd screen once you add it in the cart. Let me double check.

Edit: really strange, can't find the warranty upgrade option anywhere now.

      • yeh brings up option as such but there is no option ,
Base warranty: One year Depot or Carry-in [included]

        • unbelievable, but you can upgrade the warranty when go through myunidays link. Just tried and it works.

Check this screenshot I have just taken from Lenovo Unidays store.

  • Is it in stock or a long wait for delivery

    • I ordered it on Sunday and already got it delivered this morning. So, in-stock i guess.

  • would this be suitable for a work from home laptop? nothing heavy duty, vpn and rdp's etc, a few spreadsheets here and there

    • Too early for me to vouch as just got it delivered today. But feature-wise it seems good to take a fair amount of load.

May not tolerate multiple virtual machines, but i might be wrong.

      • Would be interested in your experiences with the battery i.e. how long does it last in normal use?
38 Wh seems small but depends on so many things.

    • Yeah it'll be great for those tasks.

  • USB-c data only? So no power delivery or display port?
So it wont work with my USB-C dock at all?

  • Noob question. What is the main reason the model in the link below cost $200+ more than OP’s model?

Completely different line meaning different build quality

  • I ordered the IdeaPad 5 Pro. And I will not receive it before December. Dame it. I will call them to cancel it.
