  • Targeted? Not available on any of my cards

    • Yes, it's targeted but I'm not sure how to mark it as such. OzBargain help seems to indicate that only Moderator can mark post as targeted.

  • I used the sniip offer on all my cards last time, which is likely why I'm not seeing any offers this time.

    • Yeah I got it on the one card that I haven't used Sniip on yet.

  • +1

    Thanks..saved it
    Bit ambiguous though

Offer is limited to $30 per Card

each time up to $30 back when you pay

    • +6

Hang on, it's up to $30 per card and not up to $30 each time that you pay yeah? That would be too good to be true.

    • The T&C seem inconsistent. One says every time you pay, one says per card…

      • Assume it's capped@$30 per card over 1 or more transactions
        ~wishful thinking multiple $30 casbacks

1.5% surcharge and limited range a bpay codes accessible.

    • I just used it and the offer went down to the used category as my cashback would be $30.

I think it's up to $30 per card but can be redeemed through multiple transactions until $30 is redeemed.

      • Correct. I just confirmed with AMEX it's $30 per card. These people can't write T&Cs that don't confuse customers.

  • +3

Just paid all my bills last night ffs.

      Chill - "…. by 20/10/2021".

    • Prepaid your water, elect, gas, council rate…

      • Sweet. Enjoy the $10 credit Ishtiak!

Sweet. Enjoy the $10 credit Hung :)

He just went from Hung to well Hung. As in “How are you, Hung?”

          Hung: “Well!”

Last time I went to pay a bill with Sniip, the biller (Brisbane Council) didn't accept Amex.

    • Was it via DEFT? My Owners Corp use DEFT which doesn't take Amex via Sniip too as DEFT's Amex fees are over 3% lol.

      • Yeah I had issues trying to pay DEFT through Sniip as well which was annoying. Think that originally it worked, but DEFT cracked the shits at sniip so they had to suspend it for deft payments.

        • Yeah DEFT and Amex don't play well. I used my NAB Qantas card via Sniip for that in the end.

    • Same with the Queensland Urban Utilities….

    • Hi theguyrules, I just paid my BCC rates with BPay in the Sniip app. Got a notification from Amex straight away "Thank you for using your Pay your bills with Sniip Amex Offer".

      • Cheers, did you scan the Sniip code, or just use the BPAY details? I was using the Sniip code.

Unfortunately I paid mine about a week ago anyway

        • +2

I used Scan BPpay on the SNIIIP app and scanned the POST billpay code (Excluding Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust Donation) that's to the LEFT of the SNIIP code on my paper bill.

          • -2

@hodgey: I just tried this and it is saying they don't accept AMEX as payment.

Update to this you can't scan the barcode, only 'scan' the BPAY number details otherwise council won't accept it.

            • @knobbs: Should work if you follow my instruction exactly as I explained. I already have my $30 credit back (my BCC bill was my rates so in excess of $300).

              • @hodgey: I did that exactly and scanned the POST billpay code for non charity donation to the left of the SNIIP code. It said they don't accept AMEX. Not sure what else you can do. I tried several times and same thing happened

                • @knobbs: On the SNIIP app, the first step is the '+', then Scan, then the middle option BPay (not Sniip tp the left or Post to the right, the middle button, BPay). So using that BPay button, you scan the POST billpay code on your paper bill.

                  • @hodgey: Yeah that is what I was doing, + button opens camera, select BPay in the middle, scan POST Bill Pay code, it asks do you want BPay or SNIIP, select BPay, input details and says they won't accept.

I will try again tomorrow, who knows what is going if it doesn't work for me but does for others.

                    • @knobbs: Yeh, good luck. I just checked my receipts history in the SNIIP app, and the one I paid on the 22nd, comes up as BCC RATES AMEX, and a reference number of 5000 0000 XXXX XXX; however, ALL my old BCC ones come up as Brisbane City Council VISA, and a reference number of 5000 XXXX XXXX XXX, so even different reference numbers. Perhaps try manually adding, with the BPay code 78550, and also ensure you've got your AMEX on your Apple Pay. Good luck.

                      • @hodgey: Ahh I'm on Android and have added my card to sniip. Maybe that is the problem rather than using Apple pay via sniip

      • Hi Hodgey, Did you get any surcharge when paying your BCC rates with Amex?

        • I think i may have, though, it didn't bother me as I was going to get the full $30 back. Looking at my SNIIP history it says … Subtotal $369.30
          Processing Fee (inc GST) $5.54
          GST $0.50
          Total $374.84

Got my $30 a few days later so didn't bother me for the slight hit.

  • +1

got this, but I have an issue with signing up Sniip, cannot get the verification code to mobile :(

  • What kind of bills can you pay through SSniip

BNPLs can be paid through sniip?

    • Probably not.. all the fun stuff is blocked

Due to the risk profile of certain billers, Sniip has initially restricted certain sectors.
      Theses categories include:
      Remittance Service Provider
      Charities & Non-For Profits
      Intermediaries
      Pay Day Lenders
      Internet Gambling
      Casinos
      Goods Dealers
      Foreign Exchange Currencies
      Securities & Derivatives
      Managed Investment Schemes
      International Business Operations
      International Students or Travel Products
      Hiring and Leasing
      Banking and Finical institutions

      • Pretty sure my Council Rates can be paid through snip

        • Same, for Brisbane.

          • @theguyrules: Not with Amex though

            • @perthhunter: Yep, I mentioned that just above.

              • +3

@theguyrules: actually you can pay by Amex by scanning BPay instead of Sniip QR Code.

                • @perthhunter: no, doesn't work.

edit: my bad. i thought I was scanning bpay but the camera seems overly sensitive and automatically scanned post billpay.

I can confirm it works with bpay.

                  thanks.

  • So….by using this, you can get points otherwise can’t?

    • +2

      Yes… with feeeeeeeeeeeees

  • I assume we can use a referral code to sign up

    • Yes, believe it's $10 bonus for both now.

  • If we use a referral code to sign up, how long is the $10 off valid for?

  • 1.5% credit card fee.

    • +5

Yeah but you're getting 20% back.

        • +16

If you're not happy with 18.5% profit then you should hand back you're ozbargain membership. People in here have been happy with much less.

  • +2

Stack this with a referral offer and get an extra $10 off your first bill. So that's up to $40 in total off your first bill payment. The math with both offers combined works out to be get $40 off $150 in bills paid by Sniip. So that's a savings of 26.66%

    • +1

26.4%. think you forgot the fees :)

      • -1

Oh true! Thanks for the correction. Although there are no fees if you use a debit card 👍

  • Does paying with Snip for council rates / electricity count towards amex points bonus minimum spends?

    • +2

I just tried to pay water bill, but failed. It wouldn't take Amex.

      • +1

Thanks. ill just stick to post billpay + paypal

        • How does that work?

      • Try scaning the BPay barcode instead of the Sniip QR on the bill.

This was the only way I could get it to work.

      • Yes, confirmed BPay worked with Amex, but not post bill pay.

  • Can you pay telstra bills with snip?

  • good timing got water bill for $174

    • Have you tried yet? It doesn't take Amex via PostBillPay in Sniip.
I managed to use Amex via Post Bill Pay directly many times before for water bills though

      • Worked for me with Bpay last time. Didn't know u can do PostBillPay? I only use Bpay so far with Sniip

  • Good timing!

Just paid council bill and uses referral to get extra $10 off.

  • +4

Interestingly didn't show on the AMEX app
but showing if I login from the AMEX website
    Saved and downloaded Snipp

Anyone downloading Snipp please use the OZB referral link

The number of referrers has doubled since this deal was posted. Congratulations to all the referrers who have been chosen.

  • wierd. signed up with referral link. Didn't get the $10. Is it applied on the next payment?

    • there's something to tap to use the credit when paying, by default it's not used, but yes, u can use it from the first payment

      • before i made the payment the section to tap had 0 balance. I might have to chase them up. I already made the first payment but im 100% sure i signed up properly at the start with a code.

      • +1

The option to apply the $10 credit only comes up after you click on "Pay"

    • +1

I could only use the $10 reward if the bill is paid today instead of scheduled for future payment.

  • Does this work if using the Amex card via apple pay?

  • Anyone knows if BPay bill can be paid in instalment ? For example: pay my bill in instalment of 150$ Instead of paying the entire amount at once and getting the cash back only once.

    • You only get a max of $30 cashback anyway.

    • Via Amex chat

the offer is limited to $30 per Card which means the max limit for credit is $30 only

      • On amex app it says “get 20% back, each time up to $30”

        • The second dot point in the offer terms within the Amex app also says:

Offer is limited to $30 per Card to which the offer is saved

There’s nothing stopping you from processing multiple payments that in total would net you more than $30 cashback based on your interpretation of the offer, and then complaining later on to Amex (or if it gets to it, AFCA) when you don’t give more than $30 cashback. However, I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much, as it clearly states in the offer terms and conditions on the Amex app that cashback is limited to $30 per card.

    • I think what he is trying to do is to pay $150 in one card and $150 in another

  • All my bills are direct debit, can I use this to make an advance payment and just have the credit sitting in the account?

    • why not

    • They will most likely deduct it from the next bill.

  • oh didn't get that offer on the Qantas Ultimate, must be because I took the Sniip offer last time :(

  • What bills are people paying? I have a strata payment I can pay but it's with DEFT which people have reported trouble with

    Phone bill is prepaid

Water should be due soon I suppose I can wait!

    • But what bills are you guys paying?

  • Is this multiple $30 or just once off?
