Woohoo, made a dent in the winter gas bill!!

  • Paid council bill and received the amex confirmation email pretty much instantly. The $10 referral negated the processing fee so it came in handy.

reckon it's limited to $30 per card but email from Amex is contradicting…

Pay your bills with Sniip and get 20% back, each time up to $30 back
Thank you for using your Pay your bills with Sniip Amex Offer with your Card ending in xxxxx.

If your transaction meets the offer terms, your redemption should appear on your statement within 5 business days (however it can take up to 90 days from the offer end date).

If you have the AMEX offer, its a good deal…..pay $150 bill through Sniip, pay 1.5% fee ($3)….and get credit of $30.00…if you have a larger bill, just partly pay thru Sniip …up to $150 maximum and get the 20% rebate. Not sure if you can only use this AMEX offer once, or multiple times, up to $30.00 credit each time?

    • Yep…got my $30.00 :)

  • +1

Is amex chat down? I can't get through for the past 2 days. Keep telling me agent is not available.

    • All good. just got confirmed they all busy making changes to online travel bookings. :)

  • Got the $30 today.
6 days after made the payment

  • Just paid roughly $1500 council rates bill and deducted the $10 referral bonus. Got email instantaneously from AMex saying i have successfully used the Sniip Amex deal. I have just recently upgraded my Amex card which they offered bonus 60000 points and $200 cashback into my account. I have to spend $3k in first 3 months to get this bonus points. Definitely worth using this offer as i am still up $20 from paying around $10 amex processing fee and the $30 bonus from Amex from using Sniip. Lets hope this payment counts towards the $3k minimum spend.

  • anyone having problems with mobile verification?

    • I was not able to complete the mobile verification with my rooted Essential Phone. Did it on my rooted MiPad 4.

    • Yeah, app is junk. On Android, it wants me to black out my number while showing me a completely black screen. (Should be showing me a photo of my card.) So, basically impossible. On Apple, the app crashes every time I try to verify.

Without being able to verify, the app is useless, so it's going in the bin.

      • Worked fine for me. Did it on my old iPhone 7 with latest iOS. No crash.

      • had similar issues. posted in here to be told it's fine and i'm dumb. lol.

Got this offer come up in the secondary card today morning. Please check you cards to see if they released this deal again
    Cheers

  • Never used Amex or Sniip before. So I just add Sniip offer to my card, click redeem, then download app on the phone, add Amex card, scan BPay code (in my case ATO PAYG bill) and pay? The rest should be done automatically?

    • +1

More or less. You just need to save the offer on Amex, no need to click redeem. Then download the Sniip part after, paying by Amex. Don't forget to use the Sniip referral for extra $10 off (the Amex is not a discount but a cashback that will automatically go back into your Amex card).

      • Thank you! This offer is only valid once per card from what I understand?

      • Damn I missed the referral code D: The referral code generator should be linked in the original post.

  • This is a big game-changer that Amex can finally use Bpay via Sniip. But the processing fee is disappointing

    • +1

and unlike BPay spending with Sniip counts towards 'eligible purchases' for introductory bonus offer etc

      • Yes, it's also treated as online purchase with my Citi card (I noticed that as I got 2x point for any online purchase with Citi). But yeah, unless u have certain promo to use, the fee is not worth it

  • Got it on my Qantas Frequent flyer platinum card

  • Is it correct to say that if the payee accepts AmEx generally as a payment card (through BPay) then you can also pay with AmEx through Sniip?

    And vice versa?

  • Anyone know if council rate 0.52% surcharge gets applied if paying by SNIIP as amex is a credit card?

For a 2000 bux rate, the surcharge is $10….not really worth it

    • Yes. You can just pay a portion of the bill instead of the whole amount

      • Was thinking of that. Maybe just pay $150 with sniip….then the rest BPAY it with a savings account .
Have to wait for 3 months to find out if I still get slapped with the surcharge for the complete rate bill as I used credit card partially though.

        • You won’t get surcharge for the rest of the bill. The surcharge is by sniip for the portion you pay, or if you pay using cc using the council’s online portal.
Not sure why I got negged for the previous comment?

  • Thanks to the peeps using the referral codes. Got another $10 off my bill today.

  • Has anyone gotten more than $30 from this deal? i.e. used it for more than $150 worth of purchases on SNIIP?

    • i understand that some member has more than 5 amex cards, one guy said over 15, so yeah use multiple card but one card is $30 no but no bit bat

    • +1

      $30 max credit.

  • Would love to confirm whether council bills paid by Amex through sniip count towards the $3000 spend for bonuses?

    • It does count, all/any spend is valid towards the 3k.

  • How quickly do you get acknowledgment from AMEX that the transaction is gone through and the cashback is registered?

    • Mine was instant. The wife hasn't been though. Just chat with live chat.

      • Just with live chat, claimed that my payment was not eligible. It was a council rate payment. And was told that I needed to upload the receipt and they will review it🤷‍♂️

  • Just paid council rate via Sniip. Got Amex confirmation instantly.

    • I also made council payment via Sniip, got declined for offer and was told that the merchant is not eligible for the offer. After a few conversations, they decided to give me $30 credit as “good will”

      • Did you get the decline confirmation instantly?

        • no never got confirmation of using the offer after I made my payment. chat in-app, told me to upload the receipt, and then told me that the merchant is not eligible for the offer.

          • @t0087669: I used sniip to pay my council rate sydney. I received the Amex notification immediately.

          • @t0087669: This is a problem when u got CS that seriously clueless. The Amex offer was for Sniip, for god sake. It's a third party payment app. How does it even have to do with the merchant behind or what bills we're paying? If the Sniip payment goes through Amex, then they should give the rebate (different story if the payment got declined). But yeah, I understand such thing happen a lot.

  • Any idea if this will work with mySA GOV to pay Rego?

  • +2

I was looking at the app offer today and it dawned on me, no doubt pointed out before bu someone else - Amex puts its comma in the wrong place

app is junk. wouldn't let me set a pin on ios. installed on android and it worked, but the verify your id seemed kind of broken. it has a frame to line your ID up in but doesn't actually crop to the frame.

    • -1

It's still working fine eventhough they don't crop. Maybe they just want your ID to be in certain position. Unusual, but not sure what's the issue with that as long as it works.

      • makes blacking out your number a chore

  • +4

i've just had another credit card with this offer popping up. I advise everyone to check their cards for this offer as this is the 2nd time that this offer has suddenly become available when it wasn't initially offered.

  • does anyone know if you use google pay with zip will your bpay transaction get the the 2% cash back from zip ends today? i know apple pay worked.

  • Just gave this a go with Tas rego using a referral code
    Hope it goes through ok

  • Anybody received the cashback from Amex yet ? I did the purchase on 11/9 but haven't seen the cashback as yet.

    • I used it on the 10 Sept, spent $150.22 I received the statement credit ($30) on the 12 September.

    • Something must have gone wrong. You should contact them. I received the cashback confirmation email minutes after the transaction.

      • Will do, cheers

  • Nob question. Can my wife create a new account and using my credit card details ?

    • +1

u can, they don't check name with credit card, just number. but my suggestion don't use the same card within 2 Sniip account, as that might raise an alarm if u have different account with them

      • Thanks, it is a different card as I have used the Amex offer on the other one.

  • the $30/card kicked me.. ah well at least I didn't pay $$$$ which I was initially going to

  • +4

I forgot to add the referral link during registration; thus thinking to delete my account and start again.

But when I'm about to delete my account (go to account > delete account at the bottom); there is a pop-up to stay with them with the $10 voucher.

I accepted the offer, and on the same window (which you can do it directly: sniip rewards menu) I can add an additional code, so I added the code from the referral link; thus I scored $20 credit from them.

    Good start!

    • Thanks, I was offered $5 and had already claimed referral credit previously.

  • Has anyone been asked to upload driver licence to verify ID few weeks later after signup?

    • Yes. They asked me for ID.

    • Not only driver licence, my credit card details as well :(

  • Extra $5

Attempted to cancel through app got offered an additional $5 off $50 spend.

    • How does pop up come up? I don’t get it. I press delete but no pop up. Do you select reason and then it goes to a different screen? Or the pop up appeared once you pressed delete without needing a reason?

      • +1

I selected reason then it offered $5 to stay with $50 spend

  • Does anyone receive an offer reminder email saying get 20% each time upto $30 and was able to fight it with Amex to get it for each bill?
