I purchased this on the last deal, and sure the feel and quality of the materials is great, but it over complicated the process of squeezing my citruses and was way too labour intensive and messy to make worthwhile…

I mean, it takes more force to bring your arms together to press out the juice than using an old-fashioned yet much more ergonomical and powerful manual juicer.

beat me by 30 seconds !!!

You were too busy juicing with this?

I disagree. Got one last time and it actually works very very well. It will be an issue if you have small weak hands however.

If anyone is thinking of buying because they have trouble squeezing lemons, due to arthritis or other joint issues, please let me share the best ever tip I've found, care of Mary Berry, who had polio as a youth, which ruined her hand strength.

Halve your lemons, then microwave them for 30 second to a minute. Let them cool down until you can touch them, and all the juice will pour out of them easily. Bonus, you get heaps more juice.

Thank you, Mary Berry (try her lemon drizzle cake, it's the best)

Not sure how that would affect the fruits nutritionally. These citrus fruits are good sources of vitamin C which is a water soluble vitamin. Microwaving them for so long, I'm guessing 30-60secs, would be enough to boil the water within and would probably destroy most of the Vitamin C

If you're just after the juice though, the above shouldn't matter.

Oh, absolutely. I'm sure it ruins the nutrition, but if you're baking or cooking, or just enjoying the flavour, it's perfect.

If you're having lemon water for health reasons, don't boil your lemons :)

Agree with the post above, this is overly complicated, so is its garlic press sister.
I've bought a few lemon squeezers over the past two years and like this the most:

It's solid, and it's very easy and quick to use and clean.
