These are great! (but I have a bad habit of eating the whole packet in one go and my stomach doesn't agree.)

    • My nose and throat don't agree when it feels like I'm breathing fire!🔥🐲

      Delivery 26-31/7
Damn - am on an island in FN Qld then, leaving on 1/8. So tempting, but may miss these peas if there is a delay😥

Been this price before. Usual price $1.80.
      Product of China.

  • Not currently available :/

  • Temporarily out of stock already

Don't know about these, but there used to be something similar available in 7-eleven. I was stupid enough to eat a few of them at the same time. I honestly thought I'd die that day. Since then I promised myself never to touch anything that had Wasabi in it.

    • Eaten wasabi icecream on Wasabi farm in Japan. Disappointed it wasn't hotter🔥
Eating fresh wasabi is fantastic (and expensive).

It’s also a very different product to supermarket grade wasabi - I once had the opportunity to try fresh in Vancouver - it was not nearly as spicy as our tube stuff - but an interesting flavour for the oysters we had

“ Most fake wasabi is made from a blend of horseradish, mustard flour, cornstarch and green food colorant. This means that most people who think they know wasabi have actually never tasted the stuff!”

        • Ah, memories of real Wasabi!
In places noted for their seafood.
          A great combination!!

There are different grades / qualities of raw wasabi - for different culinary purposes.
It's grown in running mountain streams, around 10C. I've tried our local raw wasabi, grown in Tasmania.

The hit - up the nose, from sushi "wasabi" is from the horseradish & mustard seed flour, not from any wasabi. Very different to real wasabi. But that's what was served in a sushi train place I visited in Japan, with Japanese friends.

Was in a small restaurant at Wakkanai - a fishing port at the top of Hokkaido Japan - noted for its great seafood, especially at that cold time of year.
The chef asked if I liked wasabi. He prepared traditional fresh wasabi grated on shark skin for my unidon (bowl of rice topped with raw sea urchin). A very memorable treat. He smiled knowing how much I appreciated his offer.

So don't really mind missing this Deal😉

          Thanks for the link👍

  • this with twiggy sticks and beer!

when they say it is "flavoured" I usually try to double check the ingredients.

Of course "wasabi" sachets at sushi outlets contain almost no wasabi (around 1-3%).
It should be called wasabi flavoured horseradish.

Woolies stock this brand for $1.80, but may not be identical
Green Peas (70%), Glutinous Rice Flour, Corn Starch, Sugar, Salt, Soybean Oil (Contains Antioxidant 319), Wasabi Powder (0.3%), Flavour Enhancers (631, 627), Colours (102, 133)
So more sugar & salt than wasabi!

  • It's been same price in Coles recently.
