$99 -- Etch: 6-Course Degustation Menu for 2, Reg. $200

100

In the heart of the Sydney CBD, Etch is offering an exclusive 6-course degustation menu for two for just $99. The menu also includes amuse bouche and pre-dessert and is normally worth $200.

As an added bonus, Travelzoo subscribers can order matched wines for just $40 per person on arrival, regularly $50.

As the follow-up to Justin and Georgia North’s award-winning Bécasse restaurant , Etch’s modern fare is influenced by European cuisine and based on seasonal and locally sourced produce.

It has received rave reviews, with the Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Living calling it ‘accessible and unpretentious yet stylish’ and Australian Gourmet Traveller saying ‘the food has merit enough to warrant the restaurant as a destination in itself’.

The menu includes the following:

-Amuse-Bouche
-Salad of mango, crispy prawns and wasabi
-Risotto Milanese, pickled baby vegetables
-Caramelized pork belly, smoked kohlrabi, pickled peaches, crispy pig ears
-Aromatic slow braised lamb shoulder, cauliflower purée, garlic, spinach and cherry jus
-Local figs, Woodside goat curd
-Pre-dessert
-Lemon parfait, pineapple and coconut salad coriander

      • Fine print added. Thanks

  • Sounds delicious.

Come to Etch- the food won't make you retch so you'll have no need to kvetch.

  • I swear the degustation was only $80 when I went a few months ago. Regardless, the food is very good and I definitely recommend it. The matching wines are great as well. :)

Great price for a degustation at Becasse's 'little sister'.

It looks like it's gone up since then, says "Etch tasting menu 100": http://www.etchdining.com.au/menus.php

      • I've just noticed that too, which is why I'm now telling all my friends about the voucher haha.

  • Good price and an excellent restaurant. I would fly down to Sydney to enjoy the food down there. Can someone get Peter Gilmore to do something like this? Keeenn.

  • Just made my booking, I mentioned that I had a voucher and the guy taking the booking said 'Oh, good thing you mentioned it because you have to'.

T&Cs don't say you have to mention voucher when booking, only that you have to present voucher on arrival. Could OP please clarify?

      Hi Random Ninja,

      I hope you are well.

Please see below reference to your voucher number and how to book.

"Quote your voucher number at time of booking" on the Editorial.

"Call Etch on (02) 92474777 to make your reservation and reference your Travelzoo voucher." on the actual Voucher.

      I hope this helps.

      • Lol, I swear I read the voucher 3 times before hitting post to make sure I didn't make an @$$ of myself… DUH!

I've bought two - very timely for my anniversary next week. I've eaten at Becasse before and it was brilliant, anything with Justin North involved gets my vote.

  • You guys had some decent lineup of syd restaurants in the past, shame I've missed them. Are you looking to start tweeting your deals? Easier to follow your deals

Can we pop SYD in the title plz?

    • To help avoid confusion with Etch Darwin, Etch Tuggeranong and the new Etch Toowoomba?

  • Went for dinner there last Friday, food was great, but portions were quite small. I wasn't full at the end of the six plates (and I'm not a big eater). The menu was especially made for the TravelZoo deal. The previous TravelZoo Etch deal was better value in comparison as I was very content that time.
