Awesome little machine, it takes some practice and good beans to get it down, but it did a great job of caffeinating us during the last 1.5yrs of COVID.

Classic Reddit coffee snobs, expecting a $50,000 machine performance for $200.

Exactly - at this price point, you're basically in the price range of pod machines. I know what I would go with.

  • Don't know about this one in particular, but I'd highly recommend getting one of these kinds of machines over a pod machine.. I don't know how they manage it, but the pods are just awful.. and I'm not a coffee snob. The instant Nescafe packets even taste waaaay better than pods.

Think you may need to try some different pods, because I could not disagree with this more. I have had an Aldi pod machine for about 3 or 4 years, and cannot drink instant anymore.

I'm a $5 latte and espresso at home coffee snob, but I don't mind the Aldi ones at all when I visit my folks, it's perfectly fine coffee, especially for the ease and price. They actually had one of these delonghi machines and dropped it for the aldi because they like how mild the coffee is and the ease of it.

I'd say instant can burn in hell, but it tastes like it already has.

Pods are expensive and wasteful (in terms of packaging) but taste better than instant.
I'd still recommend the this over a pod machine for the above reasons

Fantastic coffee machine which has served me well for years. I will be picking up another one when/should this one fail.

Have had this machine for 6 years and would recommend.
I think the coffee it produces is very good, and it also doesn't take up a lot of bench space.

  • or $174 with Latitude Pay!

  • Great machine. I now have the Specialista, which produces identical coffee, just tidier as it is a grinder and extractor in one unit. Wasn't really worth the upgrade cost.

  • Happy with this machine too.. i recently bought the DeLonghi KG521M Coffee Grinder from the David Jones deal too.

  • Waiting for metallic one

  • What coffee beans grinder would be recommend?

  • Mr Hoffmann does not speak highly of this machine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HIGdYy5of4&ab_channel=James…

    • Watch this on 2x speed. Then he sounds like real coffee expert that loves coffee ☕️

  • Excellent value at $199 and more features than a typical manual machine. Accommodates adjustments for coffee temperature, water hardness and delivery volume. Actively cools the boiler after steaming milk and and includes a descale reminder. I exclusively use the pod basket, and source ESE pods from MyCuppa. Fast, consistent performance and quite acceptable I think for a home machine BTW, ESE pods contain 7g coffee, Nespresso 5g for the Espresso range and 7g for the Lungo range.

    Thanks OP!
Just picked mine up. Payed with afterpay 👍

  • I grabbed one of these when on sale when my breville machine was out of action, added a naked portafilter+unpressurised basket, plus the silvia steam wand mod.
Makes lovely coffee, and is easy to pack in the car when needed.

  • JB were out of stock in metro Melbourne but Good Guys were happy to price-match.

  • I had a similar Delongi coffee machine. It started leaking in 5 months, they replaced it with a new one. But the new one started leaking after 1 year 2 months, so I had to throw it out. What a waste!
