    With inflated prices

  • another quarantine leak, did not see that coming….

    • +1

Except this leak occurred in South Australia's hotel quarantine system, not Victoria's.

      • +5

Amazing how it can happen at any hotel, isn't it? It's like the hotel system has a flaw, or something.

        • The only non leaky one is Howard SPRINGS

        • Did you know that hotels stagger quarantined people one room apart, but somehow forget to stagger rooms opposite each other?

          • +1

@Lukian: Clearly covid will pass through walls, but when it comes to hallways it knows to stay in its lane.

  • +7

I so want this for KFC… but they always exclude it.

  • +2

Combine with new user offers = win

  • +4

We've had a great run? What the hell is this? We're not in the haberdashery business

  • For those outside VIC, delivery should still be $1 as per this deal. Most locations at least.

    • +1

Affordable. I ordered food from Thai restaurant and told the delivery driver I will be picking up in front of the same Thai food.

The reason, same building where I work and it is one off cheap order online than going in person.

  • +1

    onya Deliveroo!

  • +9

    Stay safe fellow Victorians

  • +2

Some restaurants around me have actually got cheaper prices online that instore. Still works out cheaper with the previous $1 delivery fee. Looks like I'll be on this for the next 7 days!

    • Same here.

  • +1

    I miss Archer.

Those of you in Vic - if you haven't already, watch Archer during lockdown.

    • Great show, not as dumb as people think it is.

    • "You want ants? Cuz this is how we get ants"

  • +8

    if sick, get tested

    if old, get jabbed

if hungry, combine deliveroo new user bonus and free delivery

    • +2

If sad, get rub & tug

      • How to keep 1.5m apart?

    • -1

      if hotel? trivago

    • -2

What happens if you’re sick, old and hungry all at the same time? Lol.

  • +15

If you want to support local restaurants, go directly to them and don't give Deliveroo a cut - also gives you a valid reason to get out of the house.

    • +1

wont someone think about the delivery drivers?

    • -2

Some of us feel safer not getting out of the house.

      • +1

At least it goes straight from the restaurant to you. Through a driver adds an extra person in contact with your food. And that person travels all across Melbourne every day. I'd be more worried about that then going directly to the restaurant if you are truly scared.

        • -1

I don’t think there’s been any documented cases of COVID being transmitted by food.

It’s a respiratory pathogen, not an oral one.

    • That works where the restaurant is within 5km of your home. If it’s outside the 5km limit then they would not have your business without deliveroo or other platform - easi, ubereats etc. So there is a purpose/good reason for using deliveroo - yes the business will pay deliveroo but if it generates extra sales and extra work/jobs for people isn’t that a good thing?

      • -1

There are zero economic benefits to a delivery service, almost every driver is neither a permanent resident or citizen, they on student visas.

It is only used by people who are lazy or legitimately people who do not have the spare time to get a meal together.

        • +3

This comment neglects to mention injured or less abled people.

        • or people who are happy to pay for the convenience? Its a service. I think it should be priced slightly higher so its more sustainable though

        • What a sad, negative little mind set.

  • +4

Do you think this will stack with thr half price burger promotion?

  • “this lockdown is also an opportunity to sit back and refresh”…..are you serious?

    • +5

Lol yeah only the most privileged people who can work from home and have plenty of savings can say this. Lockdowns were never meant to be implemented this often, it’s an absolute joke.

      • +7

If the government actually fixed the quarantine system by now, we wouldn't be in this bloody mess.

        • -1

Uh, you do realise this hotel quarantine leak occurred in South Australia, not Victoria, right?

          • +1

@Mega Vanillish: Thank you, Captain Obvious.
I was referring to the horribly broken hotel quarantine system. More than one year later, we are still using hotels rather than proper quarantine facilities.
Just a matter of time before this happens again.

  • +4

Don't let Deliveroo rip the food joints, just go straight to them.

    • +2

When burger shops like Boss Burger are promoting this directly over their own deals then you know it is beneficial for them.

      • For some places while subsidised, for sure.

  • +3

Stay safe Victoria! We’re all in this together!!

    • +4

No we're not. Some are working, some are not. Some have businesses going broke while public servants are on full pay. Stop insulting us with this all in it together nonsense.
