  • When did XGA start getting called high definition?

    • +6

      since plasmas have been around…
      in 42" size
      853x480 was known as SD (no longer around)
      1024x768 is known as HD
      1920 x 1080 is known as FullHD..

      basic break down is
      - <= 480 horizontal lines = SD
      - >= 720 horizontal lines = HD
      - 1080 horizontal lines = Full HD

        Didn't know that - I thought 1024x768 was SD because it has to downscale a true 1366x720 input.

        Cheers

  • it says $699, not $348.

    We bought one of the 51" vivos before xmas and have been very happy. I'm sure there will be some out there bag these tv's but at the end of the day some people can't afford to spend thousands on a tv just so the picture quality is a bit better. As a cheap large tv I can recommend them:)

      Exactly. IMHO if you're on a budget then spending (often) 100% more for a very subjective 'perhaps' 10% increase in PQ will never be smart shopping in my book. :)
