Got this machine and love it. Seems like a great price. I paid 849 earlier this year but in the colour hickory.

Basically same story, same colour, same sentiment, nearly the same price.
Don’t know when we will see Pre covid prices so had to pull trigger but think this is best price seen in a while

  • Similar price at Catch (if anyone wants to buy from them)

    • $849 at Catch

OP: The Breville website mentions the promotion, direct link here : https://promotions.breville.com.au/mothers-day-bonus-march-2…

Scroll down for the Barista Pro offer.

    • Thanks, updated!

Ooooh tempting especially with amazons easy returns process hmmm.

Currently been just having $1 coffees will be a hard sell to minister of finance.

  • I have one now for two years very good machine make 3 coffees a day.

  • I assume as nothing mentioned in features this is not a dual boiler model…? This would be a deal breaker for me.

    • out of curiosity - why do you need a dual boiler?

      • I've been wondering that as well.

        • After getting a dual and not knowing why.

It’s awesome to do it both at once, saving 30+ seconds every coffee!

      • +2

Allows you to froth milk and make coffee at the same time. There is a wait till to switch between the two for single boilers.

        • +2

The wait on this machine is seconds. Coffee finishes pouring, start frothing

          • +1

@original15: I've learnt to froth first then extract, as milk sits better for a longer time than the volatile espresso. Any thoughts?

            • +2

@shiny1: You should froth and pour straight away. The milk starts separating almost instantly after frothing and you’ll get foam up top and thinner liquid at the bottom. All that work making lovely microfoam wasted

  • What’s the clean up/maintenance like on these?

    • +1

Sorta depends on how much coffee you make id say. We make 4 dbl shots a day, day to day mess ain’t bad, lcd screen tells you when you need to descale or clean machine.

  • YMMV on this of course, but I went to my local GoodGuys and they did $650 for me. It was a few days after the after dark sale. Worth a shot if you're interested in this.

Absolutely loving the machine. Just be prepared to use a lot of beans at the start - it took me a while to dial in a good double shot. Got the promo beans and knock box too. Haven't tried the beans yet but they come with a recent roasted date which is nice. Knock box is small, kind of useless, fills up quickly, but it's free!

    • That would be the best price this machine has ever been

      • Agreed, seeing as the express was $599 $650 is excellent

    • Dialing in needs to happen with every new bag of beas

  • It seems that the deal we got almost 2 yrs ago now is still better. We got the machine for $749 from GG offer back then. There was a $150 bonus pack (250g coffee beans, 2 bodum cups, tamping pad, 2 towels, razor level tool, milk jug) from Breville too.

  • Waiting for deal on Smart Grinder Pro…

  • How many cups a day do you guys drink to make the effort of a manual machine worth it?

  • Foe a absolute coffee noob, how does this compare against one of the fancy Nespresso coffee machines, say the Creatista Pro? Is this harder to use/clean etc compated to the nespresso offerring (obviously with the nespresso capsules)

  • +1

Slightly cheaper with cash back over at the good guys sale - $805.65 - $60 cash back with cash rewards

  • I’m selling one of these in black if anyone is keen, I was thinking $500, I’m in BNE great condition 18mths old, just serviced.

I upgraded to something stupidly expensive

  • Has anyone tried to price beat with Retravision? they have this model and they also have the RAC discount in WA.

Has this deal ended? The price I see on Amazon is $899.
