According to the LTT PSU spreadsheet, the OEM is Great Wall.
Are they any good?
I would put them in the okay but nothing special category. Some Corsair PSUs use Great Wall. It lists this particular PSU as B tier, so pretty solid, and suitable for most systems using a single GPU.
CWT is the manufacturer, this looks like a CWT PUQ-B aka Corsair CX750.
Very solid unit especially at this price.
Pretty sure my PSU is gone in my old Sim rig. I need nothing monumental, only running an RX580 with a FX-8370. Would this be fine as a replacement?
Yep!
Even this Corsair 550W CV550 for $55 delivered will work.
Didn't see that one, thanks mate
wow didnt know asus made power supplies
CWT is the manufacturer, Asus is only for branding and distribution.
I notice today's motherboard come with a 12V connector. Are those relatively new and are they the same as the pci-e 8-pin cables? Assuming they are new, does this mean my PSU (10yo) won't be able to power the motherboard?
Edit: nvm. Seems those are not so new and my PSU has those connectors.
Alternative - $79 750W 80+ gold semi-modular PSU
Is 80% still good to go for? Sounds like wasting 20% of energy is bad, but you don't know what other appliances waste…..
I ended up buying two of these and really happy!
It has two 8-pin CPU cables and they are very long. Great for dual CPU motherboards and not found that often.
Also 8 SATA ports, also decent length. So great PSU for workstation with two CPUs and lots of hard drives.
Semi passive Bronze PSU? Who's the OEM?
