ROFL, I wonder how many people will truly get that one! :)

      • +1

        Too many, sadly.

Better be Aussie apples and not Kiwi ones!

  • Sundowner Aussie Apples…got one this morning.

    you could make this BOGOF.

I've got a kilo of Woolies Pink Ladies in the fridge that will probably go into the green bin cos they are barely edible.

What is it with apples anyway? One day they will be great, perfect. Later that week you buy more of the same variety from the same place and they are rubbish.

    • juice them. or apple pie.

      • +6

        mmmhmm….Apple pie…

      Fresh food people my *ss.

      • +5

        it's Fresh, food people. :)

  • I'm going to start eating a test apple in the store before I buy any. Can you get arrested for that?

    • Unfortunately…yes, though you can ask the produce manager if you can have one to test, if a woolworths employee grants permission you then cannot be prosecuted for shoplifting/theft etc

Do woolies still have that offer where you are not happy with the fruit and veg you can take it back and they will refund your money?

    • +2

I'll get one and return it for a refund without the receipt.

And get 50% back at tax time thru education tax refund: 2cents for an apple & a pencil, now there's a bargain!!
There are probably 100 woolworths' within a 4 hour drive of you, so $2 for 100 pencils & 100 apples, wow! True OZ bargain for OZ day!

But you won't have enough for a massive 4ct petrol voucher!

      • fuel cost more than those apples

      • +1

Would they round down the 2 cents? hehehe

  • Green or Red Apple?

    • Always Granny Smith

      • Because their logo is green

        • they were giving away red delicious at my local.

Who would have thought there would be a day where you would have to specify "Apple" as a fruit for clarification.

    • Or blackberry…or orange!

  • they don't give out to everyone though, was at woolie this morning, didn't get one, didn't bother to ask for one anyways, got bunch of apple sitting in the fridge.

  • Is this to make up for the 'Lamb Scam'?

    • It's a loss leader aka a subtle way to say "gimme your money"

  • Received my free Sundowner at the check-out. It is very shiny. There was something vaguely… I don't know.. Soviet about it at my local woolies, handing out a single apple to people as they went through. They had a basket at each self serve desk. The old lady in the check-out next to me gave me a long 'she-gunna-tell-on-me look'? seemingly decided not, and dumped half the basket in her handbag. Poor old thing. Happy Australia day!

    • Just so long as you weren't checking out her pair.

    • No doubt the old lady also did a chat and cut to get into the queue :P

  • Woolworths can both keep the doctor (hehe) and the lawyers away! (last year's copyright issue with woolworth's pumpkin logo lol)

GOGO WOOLIES!!!! Just never ever ever ever make an annoying jingle on public tv, mmmkay?
