Makes the 250g for $4.98 punnets next to them seem like a rip off.
Yeah but those strawberries are "flat", i aint paying $3 for curvy strawberries!!
These are seconds. Not great quality but okay if you're planning on freezing and using for smoothies etc
These are seconds.
Someone ate them, spewed them up and repackaged them?
Freezing them is great. I use them as ice cubes in drinks.
I've tried soaking them in vinegar, dehydrating them, storing them in glass, all of which help, but freezing is the quickest and easiest. Only challenge is you need to shake the box while it's freezing, otherwise they all clump together in one big mass
Never ever drink juice or smoothies. Bad.
Care to elaborate?
PSA: The "Sweetest Batch" strawberries taste like strawberries used to taste. They are really sweet and juicy definitely worth the price tag if you're eating them fresh.
Totally agree, they are specially bred for it's extra sugar content that when stored for multiple days the extra sugar content compensates for the loss due to the natural conversion of sugars to carbohydrates.
Why the "normal" strawberries tend to be not sweet as they start oxidising as soon as they are picked and loses almost all it's sweetness within 24 hours.
Strawberries one of those fruits that really should be consumed as soon as it's picked.
I live locally. Most of the time fresh fruits and veg on special at this Saccas are below average quality and freshness.
Same as the overpriced crap you get at the major two.
Great (half sweet, the other half not sweet but still nutritious I suppose), but gotta get onto eating or processing this brand and freshness level for freezing ON THE DAY otherwise half of the weight is lost in mould takeover, negating the special.
Sold out
Altona Gate also this morning
I bought from Pascoe Vale Road market last weekend $8 a tray of 15 punnets.
They look a good size as well. Nice.
