Canon EOS 1100D Body ONLY - $394 Inc Shipping from Citiwide Online

40

I was browsing for Canon EOS and I came across this. I think this price is very cheap for EOS 1100D Body Only. Considering other places are selling body only for $400+.
$269 EOS 1100D
+$30 packaging and handling
+$20 shipping.
+$75 UPS/DHL/EMS/FEDEX Express Shipment 2Kg -Express
Total $394.
I read some good reviews on WP http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/870901.
Might be pricing error, I'm not sure.
If it's legit, buyer should consider this lens Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 1.8 II for $95 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Canon-EF-50mm-F-1-8-1-8-II-Lens-T…

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Note These are not Aus Stock. Grey Import!

There's another $75 on top of the $319 making it $394 in total if you go through the checkout.

    Shipper Shipping Rate Price
    UPS/DHL/EMS/FEDEX Express Shipment 2Kg -Express AUD$75.00

    • Darn :(
On the other hand, it's still few bucks cheaper than most places.
or I should just mark this as expired.

      • It's not a good deal because last time HN sold for only $398, included Single Lense Kit.

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/60341

        • Well at first I thought it was $319. and others might prefer buying just body and get other lens.

      • Re "pricing error" - first option is choose colour: brown, black or grey !

So your doubt that it might be a pricing error could be correct.

  • If you talk to HN they might still do the deal for $398. I picked up a kit (including lens) last week for $398 total. Local stock, local warranty.

    • Yeah same, I got mine a week ago from the Valley store (Brisbane) and they still did it for $398. Just phone and ask them!

    • Not HN North Ryde for sure. I called them on Christmas Eve and they said whatever price was on the website is the price we can do.

      • Oh ok….I rang another HN store which is near my house and they said the same thing…website price is the best they can do

        • HN North Ryde, Liverpool can't do this deal for sure. Havn't tried other store.
Check Alexandria store. I bought mine from there.

  • Also looking for either 1100D or 550D.

Found Canon EOS 1100D Body Only Digital SLR Cameras (body only) + 1 year warranty for Canon ——> for $ 425
    http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/product.asp?idProd…

Is it good (cheap) to buy body separately and then "Efs18-55 Lenses" from elsewhere?
Just trying to minimize the cost. what you folks suggest?

      @ HN : http://www.harveynorman.com.au/canon-eos-d-dslr-single-lens-…

The Canon 1100D DSLR single lens kit includes EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 III lens.
      —> $496

      • I would prefer buying the lens kit with the body as the complete package is much cheaper..please note that DWI do grey import..canon australia will not touch any product bought from them similar to Kogan who also do grey import from overseas..

        • unless you buy the Mack warranty, which is a legit Australian camera warranty site that deals directly with Canon Australia for the repairs(warranty starts from 3 years upto 5 years IIRC)

    • I'd be getting the grey import Japanese version of the 550D = Kiss X4 - the only difference is less languages in its software , plus $58 cheaper.

      $495 at DWI http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/product.asp?idProd…

Plus a recent DWI thread here had coupon code for expedited free shipping.

On the Kiss version the cameras menus are in English and Japanese plus I most grey importers include a photocopy of the English manual - though I mostly use the pdf which is freely downloadable anyway.

Re the 18-55mm kit lens - pity you'd have to put a 3-star lens on a 4.5-star cropped-frame DSLR camera. The 50mm f/1.8 prime costs only a little more as the 18-55mm - but, whereas you lose zoom, you gain a lens with a reputation that is commensurate with this great camera.

  • HN will do it with kit lens for at least $398 /or maybe even lower/

  • Is there Tax on the receipt, I am going overseas soon and want to know if I can get a tax refund on one of their DSLR's

    • if its grey import from overseas then there would be no GST on the receipt and you can't claim the tax back

  • $368.. yes sixty eight not ninety eight at HN —> http://img807.imageshack.us/img807/284/img20120108213545.jpg
