dam i misread thought the phone was $25 :(

I'm worst. I thought phone is 25 + giving away a 179 gift card.. LOL..

  • The gift card isn't a saving if you weren't already going to spend money there. Phone is still $179.

  • 154 with the addition of the gift card

You have to spend it after you purchase your phone, on something else.

    • Yes, so you spend $179. The fact that JB is then throwing "some other junk" in free of charge is neither here nor there. Unless you were already in the market for the product(s) that you could get with the gift card, it is not worth $25 to you.

The gift card that is being offered is for JB HiFi's streaming music service. A quick check tells me that you get three months worth of streaming membership for $25. Unless you were already planning to spend $25 on three months worth of music, then the card is of no value.

      Simplified, but basic economics.

  • I don't think it is a regular gift card. On the site it says "JB Hi-Fi NOW Gift Card"

That would only be good for their streaming music service wouldn't it?

  • I still think the vodafone HTC explorer for $134, is a much better value phone

    • From JB Hi Fi as well? I need to put my HTC Desire HD in for repairs that could take up to a month, so I want something that's usable in the meantime.

      • how is HTC phone? i quite like them at the shops, but not sure if their quality lasts 2 years. I really hate sending phones to repair centre - what a hassle. I m about to sign a new contract soon. Deciding what phone I should get next.

        • I've had an HTC Legend for almost two years; no issue, solid construction. On the other hand, the larger phones like Desire HD seem to be a lot more flimsy to me…

Important to mention that it's locked to Telstra (though I'm sure most people would know this)

And keen eyes there redfox, I didn't notice that.

Andy2, I probably wouldn't consider the explorer if the 90MB internal memory is true (or even 150MB).

Just the sort of BS comment you would expect from a iphone fanboy that is to lazy to do proper research. HTC make at least 5 different phones that are better spec-wise than iphone4 and at least on par with 4S.

I agree, I am waiting for the iPhone 4Ss should rock hard.

        … and at $179 should be a bargain!! :-(

The screen resolution kills the phone. Don't expect you can read the screen comfortably even for a short time.

    • Yeah I wouldn't watch any HD video but for texting & youtubing it's really quite acceptable. If you want better resolution, simply pay more LOL.

  • is the telstra SE cader + $10 starter still $25? telstra prepaid is great!

its hard to look at any deals like this and consider them a good deal when JB hi-fi were pumping out the vastly superior acer liquid metal for $129 until late last year.

    • Im fuming that I missed out on the liquid metal. Theres been nothing close to that deal for months. Im holding out on getting the gf a new android phone to replace the crappy Huawei we got her for $50 last year.
