Gaming PC with AMD R5-3600 CPU, RTX 3070 GPU, B550M Aorus Elite, 16GB RAM, 480GB SSD, 650W Bronze PSU $1888 + Postage @ TechFast

3600-3070-MAR

Hi all,

As requested many times on deal posts and via PM, here is our new RTX 3070 deal. CPU pairing options are R5 3600 and R7 3700X, with various upgrades available on other lines as always. I think everyone understands the demand increase/supply shortage across GPU in particular which have driven prices up. There is insufficient Intel supply for an Intel-based deal at the moment.

You will need to use the links here in OzB to access the product the coupon applies to.

Ryzen 5 3600 | RTX 3070 8GB Gaming PC: $1888 after 3600-3070-MAR

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6c/12t processor [3700X upgrade available - no Zen 3 upgrades available at this stage]
  • RTX 3070 8GB [Galax/MSI/Giga/Asus being used; twin fan models more likely]
  • Gigabyte B550M Aorus Elite motherboard [MSI X570-A Pro and Gigabyte Aorus Elite X570 WiFi upgrades available]
  • 16GB 3200MHz (2x8) RAM (brand/model may vary; upgrades available)
  • 480GB 2.5" SSD (brand/model may vary; upgrades available)
  • Gigabyte P650B 650W 80 Plus Bronze PSU (Gigabyte P750G 750W 80 Plus Gold upgrade price dropped to $69)
  • Lance-V ATX RGB case

Expected shipping times from late second week of April onwards.

Order updates:

  • All Intel 3070 deal orders are in build and are dispatching this week to be finalised next. We're working through orders in date order as quickly as possible - I think you can see pricing wise you got a great deal so hang in there.
  • Ditto with 5600X - there were some CPU delays here which have been resolved and all are in prebuild to ship this week and next.
  • 1660 Super orders are continuing to ship in smaller numbers as GPUs become available. Definitely delays there due to mining demand and supplier shortages but they are moving through
  • No specific update on RTX 3080 orders at this stage from the last communication to customers. As soon as we know, you'll know, via email.

Cheers
Luke

    • There's been a few drops in the past week for 3070 between $1050-$1200 (some triple fans too), guess it's an okay price if you're not in the know

    • Hi guys! Do you think this PC its ok for architectural rendering? or I should upgrade to this

      Thanks!!!

      • I guess it depends if your software mainly uses the CPU or offloads a lot of the rendering task to the GPU. If its got a lot of GPU offloading there won't be much difference but having more CPU cores generally speeds up rendering quite a lot in well designed rendering software so the 3700X should give a big advantage over the 3600.

  • Nice one Luke!

  • +2

Hey Luke! Is a Zen 3 processor pairing likely to be available in the short term?

    • With a 3070 at a deal-based price, not in the short term no, supply just isn't there still. We will be offering a Zen 3 productivity build shortly though.

      • +1

        Intel 3070 deal again soon?

  • +9

    Nice one Luke.
This is what i paid for similar build bought during last 15 days from deals found on OZB and Ebay Afterpay.

Some primo Ozb'ing with some of those there sir/ma'am.

      • +2

Yeah that after pay 20% off came in clutch

    • +1

Good work. You make us proud 😀

    • Is that total $2216 after the 20% off afterpay? Or did you pay around $1800?

    • +1

How recently you grab a 3070 at that price? Just wondering if my searching/hunting is not up to scratch

      • +1

I ordered it from PLE pre-ordered on 13th of march. delivered on 25th march

        • +1

          Good one 👍🏻
Had looked through their site a few times but most ‘not in stock in this state’ etc. did yours have an indication of stock/preorder date? Or just tried your luck and it paid off?

          • +1

@original15: Yeah i kept checking their rtx buying guide page. On 13th the gaming X trio and evga ftw3 ultra had ETA's available. Gaming X trio had an ETA of 22nd March so i went with this. The ftw3 ultra was showing ETA for 4th April.

    • How did you get the motherboard at 121? That’s really cheap for the AX variant.

  • -7

While this is indeed quite a bargain mostly because of the GPU and the rest is quite a steal tbh
The reason why gigabytes p series is so cheap is because no one wants it.

Reviews online and YouTube have said it has exploded before and I didn’t double check this when I bought it but was able to luckily swap it out on before it was too late (at shopping express).

    • +16

We have used literally thousands with 0 explosions.

      • -1

Ah yes myb, i noticed it was the pb650
Sorry about that, the one is review was p750GM although there might not be a difference I personally would want to choose an alternative over gigabyte
        https://youtu.be/hS0Mjw3BW94
        Video for reference

        • well if you paid to upgrade to 750w gold, you have a high chance of getting the p750gm actually

  • Man I want to order this just to build a computer and just sell it for the cost, is that crazy??

    • +1

      Plenty do.

      • -1

Haha you know it Luke, it’s in my shopping cart, I am this close to pulling trigger. If I was sure I wouldn’t loose money haha.

        • -8

          You will lose your money

  • Luke I need to buy a new PC before EOFY. Is there a chance you'll be able to setup a pre-order system for a 3080 system?

    • +6

There is a chance, yep, a guarantee, no. 3080s have just been a ginormous pain in the ass. Everything we get told and base deals off turns out wrong, costing us $ and customers time.

      • Sweet. Thanks for letting me know.

      • ageed, fuk 3080 builds, just do what makes some profit. 3080s are more trouble than they're worth for a long time.

      • +3

Can agree 3080's are a pain kinda wish i grabbed the arsecrusher could save a grand and had a pc weeks ago. Anyway hopefully they come in soon im sure it will be worth the wait in the long run.

      • I trust/hope you are making plenty of noise to suppliers. 2 months into an order with no word on parts supply is disconcerting.

        • Yep. Us and every other PC assembler, retail store and distributor in the world. Wouldn't be a fun time to work at team green rn I imagine.

  • +1

those gpu prices are just goin up…..

    • +1

There are plenty of up songs but I settled on this for my 2 year old.

    • Yep its disgusting when a 1660 Super is the same price as i got my 2070 Super and what a 3070 should be priced at originally.

      • +1

yeah, in reality if you are selling your old GPU and you have a decent one, its not a huge difference, I managed to sell my 1080ti for $700 - its now worth more!!!, so the upgrade to 6800 xt only cost me $500 and I had it for 2 years….I dont think thats a bad deal
if you had to buy from scratch though….1k should be top tier GPU - max

  • I've been building something similar and I won't be able to get even close to this price without an MSRP 3070 which I doubt is gonna happen any time soon…

  • +1

What date might this be shipped out? Also wondering if you might have some more case options coming up in future. sweet deal

    • Estimated timing info just under the listed specs in the deal post. Other cases, not at this stage as we have plenty of both options offered.

    • Chupa expect anytime form 14 business days - a month or longer. I ordered a similar system end of February and still haven't got a notification it has shipped. Totally worth the good deal and I'm in no rush, just thought I'd give some clarity.

  • Would the aftermarket coolers be worth it for a 3700X upgrade? If so, 120mm or 240mm? Reading conflicting comments online about whether it makes much of a difference for a 3700X.

    • +4

If you're not overclocking the 3700X, the stock cooling is sufficient.

The 120mm All-In-One Liquid CPU Cooler (+$89.00) is not good value, single rad coolers don't perform nearly as well as an identically priced air cooler, such as the Noctua NH-U12S.

      They also make more noise…

      • Thanks heaps! No intention to overclock so will be sticking with the stock cooler. Saved me some cash!

      • I bought 4 of the noctua coolers almost a decade ago for a server setup I had at home. They’re still basically the same design and they continue to work brilliantly. Noctua always release a kit when the socket changes for less than$15 so I’m still using them and the fans they came with. Definitely recommend them for longevity of use and quality.

    • My experience with the stock wraith stealth cooler on a 3600 was terrible, no overclocking and it was idling at 55c, hit 95c when playing assassins creed and auto stop.
Ended up going overkill with a noctua d15 and it’s never gone over 72c now with all cores running 100% on benchmark tests

      • I found the wraith cooler to be absolute trash as well, idling at like 50 is ridiculous

  • This is great value considering the current stock issues we are facing, nice work TF.

  • +1

Great system, just would point out that GPUs interfere with the upward facing sata ports, my system I could only access 1 of the 4, unless I purchased low profile sata cables

    • +4

if you dont know then mining is not for you

      • -7

Or you could just tell me and then i would know

        • I could but i don't know :)

    • +7

      Not this deal at all.

I'm talking from experience in the last mining boom, not this one but I used per mining pc
      Motherboard with 13 PCIe slots
      Pentium CPU
      4GB RAM
Small PSU to power the mobo/cpu
HP Server PSU with breakout board to power 13 gpus
      13 GPUs

This deal is the completely wrong setup for mining. This is buying a Golf GTi and trying to use it as a tractor.

    • -1

I know people flip the last deal to get the 3070 but this is not worth it, mainly a deal for those that don't know how to build a computer

  • Hey Luke, a question regarding this comment for the mobo: "Features at least a single M.2 slot (32 Gb/s)"

Across the brands of boards you're offering, is it likely that the mobo will only have 1 M.2 slot?

    • +2

That's more of a catch-all for other listings on our website where that config is offered where the brand/model may truly vary, but for this system where I've said B550M Aorus Elite, X570 will be X570-A Pro and X570 WiFi will be Giga Aorus Elite, all three motherboards are guaranteed to have 2 x m.2 slots.

  • -1

Are you guys ever going to setup a WA office?
I really dont like the idea of shipping back to SA for warranty jobs… (especially in a covid world)

    • We are looking at establishing a network of authorised repairers around Australia, yes. Call it a medium-long term project.

      • The would make me pull the trigger faster without a doubt.

      • -1

I believe it when I see it. Until then it’s all sales talk.

  • +10

    Wow crazy prices.

50 days ago this exact PC was $1477 + Delivery

    • +1

Closer to $1550 with the same mobo, but it is crazy what happened in just a month

    • Damm, that's insane 😬

    • If you upgrade the CPU to 3700x thru TechFast, add another 16gb ram and a bigger SSD yourself, you'll get the same spec and price that I sold my 2nd hand home PC for, without warranty, in 12 hrs (with 3 more people lined up incase the first person didn't take it). This deal is new with full warranties everywhere, as good a deal as anyone's going to get anywhere.

The market is pure insanity right now.

      • Why are prices going up since feb?

        • +2

Ppl say supply is constrained (can't ramp up semiconductor production. Even GM will be selling one of their models without an advanced emissions control ecu this year because they can't get the part for it).
Ppl say miners are buying all the cards.
Ppl say home pc numbers are up for the first time in a decade.

Its probably all of these and a pile of fomo

          • @So lo: Pent up demand from miners, consumers and industry coupled with limited supply of microprocessors due to COVID (supply chains under stress).

    • +1

Don’t remind those of us too slow to pull trigger on that deal :(

    • Feeling quite happy that I bought this one..

  • Would this PC be suitable for playing MS FS 2020? Any thoughts or better to spend more?

  • Is there any expected 3060 12GB or 3060Ti Builds coming up?

ordered the 10400F/3070 on the 24th of Feb, and yet to received
What would the expected delivery time be of this build? (thinking of buying another)

    • Got my order sent confirmation email today from that exact same build. Hold strong. Its not far off.

    • Direct quote from the deal post above: "Expected shipping times from late second week of April onwards"

    • also looking into a 3060 one too hmm.

  • Any 3090 deals/builds coming up Luke?

    • It's not really a card there's we're going to be able to get hold of enough of to run a "deal", realistically.

      • Righto, seemed a tad more available than the 3080, so figured may as well give it a crack

  • I an surprised everyone has trouble sourcing supply of GTX 3000 series graphics cards, yet TechFast constantly having deals on systems with these cards.

  • Hey Luke, I got one of your 3080 deals at the end of last year. Very occasionally my computer will just straight up shut down (like power shuts off) when I'm playing a game. When I got the pc I pretty much installed minecraft rtx and the crash happened when I started up minecraft rtx for the second time and it has done it in a few other games since.

Just wondering if you have heard of any other similar stories?

    • +2

Run AIDA64, if it crashes just when the graphics kick in your PSU probably needs replacing. I imagine the same behaviour will happen if you try to encode video with your GPU

    • +1

Over the years with all the various CPU/GPU combos, sure, there are numerous things that can cause it. Best bet is to email [email protected] to see if the team can help diagnose and repair it under warranty for you.

  • Hi luke, I'm interested in getting this today. How long till I receive it??
If i get it assembled, regarding warranty do I just get the manufacturers warranty and if I get it assembled I get TechFast warranty + manufacturers??

    • Estimated timings in the deal post below the spec above. Warranty wise, any part with a manufacturer warranty that extends beyound the assembled system warranty you choose from us, you are absolutely entitled to.

  • Also no 5600x and 3070??
Is it all twin fan or can we get proper 3 fan models??

  • -2

None are ready to ship "off the shelf". So do you guys just take the money and we wait months for parts? like preorders from other companies that take your money in the hopes of getting it sometime in the future??
