Any chance of a free shipping code to Melbourne? :)

    • +3

      or even free pickup?

  • Great price. Any similar joy on aorus Wi-Fi boards?

  • Worth upgrading from a x370 for resizable bar and ram support?

    • +2

Not really… Its a sidegrade in almost every way.

      • I get that its pretty much a sidegrade

but the resizable bar if it does give better performance in games (i heard ~10% in AC) seems like it could be worth it?

  • I'm looking for a new build and pairing with the 5900x / 3980 - is this good board or should I look for someone else a bit more expensive?

Just too many of these boards to choose from - Like what's the difference between this one and https://rosmancomputers.com.au/gigabyte-amd-b550-aorus-mb-w1…

Just some heatsinks on the board?

    • +1

Not much i reckon same VRM's and features. Just an extra USB ports in the back along with USB type C and the second M.2 slot also has heatsink.

    • More features on the PRO, but looks like similar quality board. USB type C front and rear added, some USB ports are 10gbps+ while the elite only has 5gbps ports, 2.5gbps ethernet, optical audio and 5 audio jacks vs. no optical and 3 audio jacks, both M2 slots are pcie4 rather than one being pcie3 on the elite. Guessing more sata and RGB/fan ports but haven't checked properly.

EDIT: disregard most of that… I was comparing with the elite v1… I didn't realise they changed so much on the V2!

      • +2

Bad news, Rosman just changed the description, it's not the V2 model, it's now V1.

    • If you do decide to go with the pro v2 it's $209 at centrecom.

      https://www.centrecom.com.au/gigabyte-b550-aorus-pro-v2-am4-…

  • Not even the Gigabyte site lists how many SATA ports it has. I can see only two in the photo. Can anyone confirm the number?

    • +1

Watched hardware Unboxed review before buying and they mentioned 3 SATA ports. the review was for V1, I reckon this will have the same.

  • Has anybody noticed Louis's GF is not in any of his videos anymore. Was she tired of being in the vids or moved on?

  • Any pickup in Melbourne ?

  • +12

Note they have just edited the page to remove the reference to V2…

this is probably the problematic V1 motherboard, being run out because of the major issues..

    • +3

Good pick-up, anybody ordering should PRTSC as the image is still showing V2…

      • +1

Good call ordered 5 mins back with PayPal and just got SS for just in case!!!

    • +5

      My order SKU shows:

      B550 AORUS ELITE V2 1.0

  • Wow great price! ATM me using a MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC and at this price, is it a worthwhile upgrade or simply just stick to my current mobo since I'm pretty happy with it anyway?

  • Can we please get confirmation from the rep that it is indeed a V2?

  • Are these on sale to get the ratios right to get allocated more GPU's? I know one of my suppliers wants me to buy 3 motherboards for every 3070 gpu I order…

    "Cannot Vote on This Deal"

Would neg but can't because I voted +ve earlier

Originally was a V2 board. Now it's not clear if its a V1 board (they were dodgy and changed their product page.. However at time of this post anyone who has ordered should demand a v2 board as that's what they've set in the title of this thread).

The v1 board has usb issues and is a piece of shit. DON'T BUY

    • B550s are lemons ffs.

My Asus Bluetooth and 2.5gb Ethernet had common faults too.

Surely the AM4 platform was stable by now. Have regretted switching to AMD ever since.

      • Which model board fo you have? I have a B550-E but havent received my CPU yet.

        • The gaming wifi Asus board has known issues

I switched to MSI X570 instead

          • @scuderiarmani: Tomahawk?

            • +1

@Master Bates: Yep. Very highly regarded.

Though I don't like the Bios and the NVME lower slot won't allow me to fit the heat sink strangely.

But hey, it works. Much better than I can say for the ASUS B550.

    • Ignore this due to comment from rep below.

  • Yeah, the V1 board has unfixable hardware level USB issues that were maybe addressed with V2 (seems some people are still experiencing them but less so). The issues affects all 500 series board but some seem to affected worse than others cause you hear a lot of complaints about this board in particular

If it wasn't for that would've been a great price

  • +6

I can confirm that the order is for the Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite V2 Revision 1.0 board.

  • Make sure you understand the USB issue before buying:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/lnmet0/an_update_on_us…

  • I have the master version of this board and it probably has the same realtek 2.5G network controller which randomly drops the ethernet connection which is obviously bad if you're online gaming.

I downloaded the latest drivers (dated 24th Feb) from the realtek website which so far after 3 days hasn't dropped out yet.

This mob tried to charge cancellation fees on 3080 pre orders.

    • -1

They did the right thing and confirmed the V2 version which they originally promised.
Don't think it's appropriate to neg the deal based on an unrelated previous experience.

      • It's definitely appropriate to neg this deal based off a seller's previous behaviour

  • Any more stock coming in at this price?
I need to upgrade my PC to stream content

  • Hi, I bought this one today but have an intel cpu;
    so pm me if anybody wants to buy it for the same price;
    I'm in Brisbane

    • +1

Hey mate, sending you a pm now
