Big W have for the past 3 occassisions gone live each fortnight Thursday at 9.40am.
Stock went live Thursdays on 4th Feb, 18th Feb and today 4th March all around 9.40am.

@putshan: I held off until Feb to get one. Waited for all of the launch crowd to test it for me. I highly recommend getting one if you can.
@klaatu: There's honestly nothing on there that interests me that I can't play on ps4.
I'd like to get one for 4K movies and eventually for FFVII remake + DLC which I believe is ps5 exclusive.

It depends on where your name is on their list. JB have never sold on their website. If you havent paid a deposit to JB your better off buying from either Target, Big W or Amazon, The Gamesmen as these retailers sell as they recieve stock. JB the lists in each store can either be really short of horrifically long. I tried JB and my local had a list of 150 waiting.
I didn't know they had a list? I got JB GCs I bought! Maybe I have to put down for a list lol
Some JB stores have a list, and I've heard of others that don't.
Most cases they are not adding names to the long lists as they will never clear them and it's also difficult to manage with a staff member spending their day calling people.

Be mindful if you stuff around loading promo codes to recive a discount, there is every chance your order will timeout and others will checkout before you. Resulting in the order being cancelled.

Target will drop next, usually 1 or 2 days after the BigW online goes out. Targets are click and collect from your local store after you purchase they send it from their DC to your nominated store.

Thank you OP. Finally I was able to land one, 8 minutes after this was posted. For me system was very stable, no issues at all. Sufficient time to add to cart, buy Big W gift cards from Suncorp, adding multiple cards, and paying the rest by PayPal. Although, BigW giftcards limited to max $500 per day.
Still the cheapest price. Before the gift card discount, ($749 + $7.90) - $10 (BigW discount for spending $100 >).
Now time to worry about how to seek forgiveness from my wife.
BTW, I received an email from Good Guys for EOI. So, another source to look forward to for those that missed out.

Ordered in store in JB Hi-fi in Joondalup, Perth. Call up your local JB, many taking orders in store, with full payment.
Had been thinking about buying a PS4 to play last of us 2, but wasn't sure how to sell the dream to partner.
Solution: buy a PS5 disc edition, play last of us 2, sell PS5 at profit.

Does anyone know what the status progression should look like?
If I click view orders through my account I get "Awaiting processing".
If I click track orders and type my number in I get "Being fulfilled".
If I click view orders and then actually click view I get "Picking in process".
Lol I get the same.
It may sit there as picking in progress until tomorrow or even Monday. Big W receive consoles today and have to book them into their stock. From their your picking slip will be printed and possibly fulfilled tomorrow or Monday. Big W then book the ship consignment with AusPost and you will recieve an AP tracking number and from there its really quick. Depending on timing. I ordered mine on 9am Thursday 4th Feb, shipped to AP Sorting Centre Wednesday 10th and recieved next day Thursday 11th at 11am. Some got their PS5 three days after order on the following Tuesday. :)
Can you play PS3 and PS4 games on this PS5 or can you only play PS4 games?

Edit: Just realised search alerts are delayed up to 30 minutes so best just to check OzBargain live page for new posts when you are able rather than rely on notifications. It depends on your luck. I've had parcels sent to the PO when I'm not home and another time it was left OUTSIDE the apartment building.
If you look at the auspost app and key in your tracking number does it say signature required? If yes you can choose to redirect it directly to the post office. If no, you'll have to wait and see.

You can use Aus Post app or website to redirect it to the nearest post office collection point or locker.
