@jimbobaus: They won't be looking at it as fragmenting the market, they will look at it as extending their audience into the Xbox, PS5 space where people want (and will pay for) better hardware, video etc etc.
Much like the switch lite extends them into an audience who won't pay for the full Switch feature set.

It will be exactly like the GameBoy Color, DSi and 'New' Nindento 3DS.
There will some exclusive games for the new console, creating some fragmentation. Not sure why people can't accept the high likelihood of this happening eventually considering Nintendo have a history of doing the very same thing for every generation of portables except the GBA.

Of course they'll say that, they don't want people to stop buying the current model in the mean time.
I am REALLY interested to see what they actually bring out with a Switch 2/Pro/New…..looks like the screen is going to be only 720p but oled and a little larger (great news imo, no interest in a 1080p screen if battery life and cost are impacted).
However, i have no idea what they will go with re power…..They want to keep the cost, battery life, size all where it is at the moment but want a drivetrain that will last another 4-5 years. Interesting times.

I'd say that firstly it's been proven that some games are cheaper on digital, and secondly it's surely only a matter of time before retail stores extend their download card range instead of physical media in plastic cases that is more expensive to produce and harder to ship.
So there will be a time where the community will frown on the disc version at it's extra $150 price tag - we might not be there yet, but we will be!
ok prove sony disk games cost more than sony digital with reference to at least 10 sony games over the last 6 months, or the rest of your post is just garbage.

@petry: I bought the last of us remastered (digital version) for $13 back in 2016. At that time physical disc version was more expensive.
I also tried to buy Tekken 7 (pre-owned) from JB for $10 last year. Got a dodgy disc, had to return it. I think the digital version was recently below $10. My experience with pre-owned discs isn't very good so far.
I get physical version could be sold later on. Yes, in most cases, you see better disc version deals.
However, I know people sharing iTunes, Netflix accounts (not the right thing to do). I don't condone that. But, I am not responsible for other people's actions.

I’ve been trying to get one for ages. Yesterday followed ps5 alerts on Twitter and put on post notifications and finally got one. Can’t recommend enough if you’re trying to get a ps5.

I think you might be mistaken, especially given all stock was gone prior to Press Start posting an article that PS5 was in stock at Target. Stock is still selling out within minutes, which suggests a lot of people who want one don't have one. I'm hoping you are right about stock levels in a month though.
That's not true at all. Yesterday they sold out in 10 minutes on here, today they sold out in 7 minutes.
At least 6 months before stock issues ease. Just launched in China and India so imagine the numbers required. AMD cant make Silicon chips fast enough, considering they are now in Smart Phones/TVs, Motor Vehicles, and lately door bells.
No chips….no product.

installed the Ozbargain app, and was happy to get the notification, but also sad at the same time, as the notification itself already said it is OOS :D

The official line is that there is a wait to get supply of components quick enough to make that happen but the change in volumes and relative ease of purchase over the past couple of days may indicate that that isn't wholly accurate.
Not much we can do other than wait and see I'm afraid.
