  • I also received this as a push notification but can't find it anymore

  • +1

I got the notification as well. I think it said Saturday. Imo best place to use Yums in Melbourne is meat and wine co. Go alone get a 500g wagyu rump for $5after discount = winning.

    • +1

so we get the point right after make a booking? otherwise how to use them to eat wagyu only for $5 ?
hey we have meat and wine too in sydney so i am keen

      • +2

You get $20 off for 1000 points and 50 for 2000. I always redeem when I have 2000 pounds for 50 off. The 500g Wagyu rump is 55 so I get that and drink tap water for 5. Done this a few times now everywhere else with Yums is crap.

        • +1

yeah i got the points conversion but for example if i make booking for tonight at xxx restaurant using that summer21 code, tonight can i pay the bill less $20 from 1000 yum points? (right now i have zero points)

        • +2

I'm not sure I could bring myself to do this!

Does the restaurant only get $5? Or does the app pay them? I'd feel horrible, businesses are already struggling.

I love deals, but not to the point they lose money! I wonder how they operate like this.

        • Hopscotch is good, as is rooftop bar, crafty squire and there's an Irish bar in st Kilda that's also nice

          • @modded: They are but I already went at 50 percent off in January between 5 and 6. Then again meat and when usually do 50 percent off as well as part of the fork festival. The really popular spots in Melbourne like Tipo 00 or San Telmo don't exactly choose to be part of Yums

        • Gotta pay for tap water? Haha that's harsh

          Why Wagyu rump.

Trying to decide between rump or rib eye (non Wagyu)

  • Yama (pronounced Yum or YumRaj) is the Hindu god of death lol
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yama_(Hinduism)

    • +1

Oh yes, delicious food that makes me go yum is also the death of me

  • How does this work? where do I put this into?

    • Put the code on the last screen when you submit the booking, see screnshot

      • Many thanks

  • Tried a few restaurants which had existing promotions but wouldn't let me use the promo code.

    • I have booked one 30% off for tonight and was able to use the code. However, it looks like already have 3950 Yums, and the loyalty space looks like has a max of 4000 Yums. I hope I will be awarded 1000 Yums, else I will lose out on it 😡☹️

      • Redeem some Yums tonight?

        • +1

There are not many you can redeem in Melbourne. There used to be way more choice before they converted to this yums.
          Not sure other state :(

        • Yes - I thought of that, but was too quick to book with the code for tonight. And now it won’t let me do another booking as it’s only once per user ☹️ - Ah well - atleast I spread the good word. Hope some of us can benefit, even if I May or may not.

  • +1

You can earn more than the 4000 Yums. It just keeps accumulating but once you collect over 2000, you can only collect in lots of $50 (not 2x$20 ect)

    • Sorry what does this mean

    • you can only collect in lots of $50

      I think you mean redeem.

  • How does the restaurant know you have yum points to redeem?

    • When you book.

    • +1

It shows up as part of the booking so they can see it on their end. Some places automatically adjust the bill (I've had free meals or sub $2 before) bit other times they deny knowing about the discounts and I have to fight for it.

    • Oh okay thanks guys!!

  • how to register ?
    How to add referral code?

    • Create account, enter referral code from random generator above.
To add yours after that, go to settings/referral and locate the store

      • there is no place to enter referral code when registering, actually I couldn't find out how to register even, I just log in using google!

        • +1

You are meant to use your referral code when you place your first order.

          • +1

@ngengerous: Oh I see, celever hehe :) So is that mean I can't use this SUMMER21 at the same time?

            • +1

@shahrah: That's right, you'll have to make two bookings to use both of the codes - the referral code only works for your first booking, so I used that first, and then SUMMER21.

              • @ngengerous: Thanks I got it now :)

              • @ngengerous: There is another code in the FAQs for first booking with the app.

Earn 1000 YUMS for your first booking with the app by entering the code APP21.

Basically the same for a new account, but this doesn't show any limited date range.

        • +1

oh my bad, got my account long ago. my apology

  • What does this convert to in Schrute bucks?

  • Anyone knows whether booking a restaurant using Yum + this promo code will net you any additional yum points? Or does it have to be booking and paying real $$?

I can't seem to find the Terms and Conditions anywhere

    • I used 2000 yums to get $50 off and used the SUMMER21 code but did not get any points. When contacting support they said bcuz I used yums I cannot get the 1000 bonus yums.

  • +1

I received the offer as an email. Here's the Terms and Conditions:

Users must make a booking using TheFork app between Wednesday 3rd February to Saturday 6th February 2021, inclusive, to be eligible for 1000 Yums.

    • 3 days after your meal, you’ll see your Yums balance topped up.
    • If the booking is cancelled or no-showed, the bonus points offer does not apply.
    • Each user can only use the promo code once and it is not transferable.
    • If you do not use the promotional code during your booking, we cannot credit the points to you post-booking.
    • TheFork reserves the right to withdraw or extend this offer at any time. Please note that this offer is only applicable on bookings made via TheFork app.
    • Ensure you have the promo code ‘SUMMER21 entered in the appropriate field when you complete your booking. You will find the field listed under “Promo code”.

The thing that is unclear is - does the actual booking need to be between the 3rd and 6th Feb, or will the deal apply as long as the booking is made between those dates?

    • It's usually the later. A few times I had Yums about to expire and couldn't make it in time so booked a few weeks afterwards. As long as you book on time it's usually ok.

  • How do I search for 50% off venues?

    • +1

      'Special offers'

      • +1

Ohh thanks… looks like only 30% off a few places and nothing close by :(.

  • Who pays for the $20/$50? TripAdvisor/TheFork or the restaurant?

    • +1

      The fork pays

The restaurant pays the fork $3 a head that visits

  • book between today and saturday and dine on a future date and can still get the points ?

  • Can I use yums plus the promo code?

    • Yeah just did that and seems to be working

  • Does the booking need to be for a date up to 6th Feb or can you book now for a later date (eg 7th Feb) to receive the bonus? The terms state "make the booking" but I'm not sure if they mean "have booked and dined by 6th Feb"

    • having same question here.
just making booking or need to dine in before 6th feb ?

  • +4

Got 1000 yums using the SUMMER21 code booking a 40% off deal this week (Going to get 2x vietnamese stir fry for $20 tomorrow). Also did the valentines survey for another 1000 yums. Code VDAY21 for next weeks 30% off booking at another restaurant (around $25 for 2 mexican meals) (so that will give us $50 off the next redeemable booking after that and should cover 2 burgers at fritzenburger). We eat out each week so we book through the fork now and then anyway. There isn't many places to redeem yums in Brisbane. Shame you can't redeem at the german club anymore as a free pork knuckle would have been the go-to.

All up $45 for 3 nights eating out total for 2 people (not including alcohol) can't complain.

This is welcome after the 2nd HappyDays Ausvenueco promotion has ended on 31st Jan. (They were offering 50% off at a lot of pubs and clubs August & Jan between 5-6pm, usually included alcohol and banquets).

    • Where can I complete the valentine's day survey?

      • It's not unique, they don't ask for email or anything.

    • I looked at fritzen burger in Brisbane and I can't seem to book? It shows that they accept yums but no days are available. Do you see the same?

      • Havnt checked yet but I got the yums

    • Thanks for sharing the VDAY21 code :)

  • At the bottom of the page (https://www.thefork.com.au/yums) it states:
You do not earn Yums when you book with a loyalty discount.

Therefore, stacking this code (for 1000 YUMS) with 30% or 50% off offers could result in the 1000 YUMS not being credited to the account

    • Na.. they added them

  • If you are downloading the app for the first time, follow the steps below for 2,000 Yums (worth $50!)

    • Download app
    • Add the code APP21 prior to confirming your first booking via the app (worth $20). See deal info here
    • Then use code SUMMER21 for another 1,000 Yums on your second booking (worth $20) - this code expires 06/02/2021

Perfect way to score 2,000 Yums for making two bookings - worth $50 off your next order!!

  • Code not working for me

  • Seems like a single use code, unable to use the second time.

    • +1

Mentioned in the terms in Op :
      • Each user can only use the promo code once and it is not transferable.

  • Can you order for takeaway once you arrive?

    • Technically it’s dine in only, but you can always take away the left overs.
