I know this was posted before, but that deal expired. Don't think there is a way to request for something to be un-expired?
Anyway, it got quite a few votes last year, so I thought I'd put it up again for those interested.

  • I remember this being popular last time… But am i missing something?
1:$1 points on an Amex? It is usually at least double this.

44 Days interest free… Can NOT find the interest rate at all!

    • Yep, my current Amex is $1=2 points.

      • is it amex point or QFF point? is it 1 amex point equivalent with 1 QFF point?
and do you pay annual fee on your current amex card?

    • IIRC it's 20.9% from the paper version they spammed my mailbox with.

    • Used to be 56 days interest free.

  • I used this free card to apply for MyUS.com American Express no setup/yearly fee promotion.

  • +1

I signed up for this a few weeks ago, got all 10000 bonus, can use this http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/59407 to get the final 2500.

    • Did you get the points credited already? It seems to indicate they take some time. I need them for March for a OS flight upgrade.

      • point always transfer once you got your statement, they do once a month

  • Doesn't AMEX charge between 2-3% as a transaction fee? A single FF point is usually estimated to be worth about 1% of purchase price. Not exactly my deinition of value.

    • Nah, it's some places will tack on a % per transaction, JB for instance. Places like Woolies and Coles don't, so my groceries and fuel always go on it.

Any place that tacks on a fee, I use a different card.

This is a $0 annual fee card that can give you 10k points, for little more than most would do anyway.
(I know a few people who have applied for this card, used it for their 10k points, and then canceled it.)

Yes, hit the report button. The last deal was posted over a year ago, so good idea posting again.

    • Noted, thanks.

    • The last deal was posted over a year ago, so good idea posting again.

Well no. :) See the last comment.

Still noone updated the expiry date on that so it's fair to post anew IMO.

      • Ah OK. Hmm different links on the same website. Fair enough.

I think we need to start a thread on Qantas FF strategies. Wondering if it's worth applying for this, then the Woolworths one, and others to gain a lot of points. Rarely fly Qantas, so would have to calculate points converted to gift cards. Wish there was a credit card (Australian) for United.

    T&C
5.To be eligible for all or part of the 10,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points offer you must be a new Card applicant who does not currently hold any of the Qantas American Express Card products.

Does this mean that by having an ANZ Qantas frequent flyer Amex & Visa, I will be ineligible?

    • i think the terms are referring if you already a direct Amex Australia customer not to an Anz amex issued card. Tip you can also buy a lego toy plane at a Qantas shop for about $9.95 to get the final 2500 points. btw the BMW card is a better product having 55 days interest free.

      • do you know if the BMW card is still available? tried the other day and it linked me to the AMEX Gold card signup so i stopped.

        • Got my BMW one just over a month ago. It's a gold card, but without any gold card advantages that I can see (no insurance, no bonus points). Signed up because at least I get a point per dollar. Had I known that this deal existed, I might have gone for this one.

        • Are they still giving out the Foreman grills?

        • Nope… no grill unfortunately. In fact, no bonus offers at all. I applied because of the $30 gift card offer for coles/myer group (x2 for two cardholders, 2nd cardholder free).

  • If your first purchase was over $300 on qantas.com would you get all 10,000 points straight away?

    • Not sure, but it would be hard for them to make a case for not doing so, wouldn't it?

  • As far as I know it is always like that for this card, I apply for it 6 months ago, get same deal too…

  • If you get invited by someone who's a AMEX cardmember, you get 15000 QFF (and referrer gets 5000 QFF). Anyone interested? :p

    • how do I invite you?

      • :p I'm one of the possible referrers too haha

        • i have canceled my BMW card last year
          can someone please refer me

          Thanks

        • ishe - have sent you pm/email via contact page

    • May someone refer me as well please? Please contact/ email me.

      • contact sent :)

        • Can you send me one too please?

  • danj303 invitation sent
