In the spirit of starting 2025 off right (and because you voted in our Year In Review email) we'd like to offer you double Status Credits on eligible Virgin Australia flights*.

We've already added this offer to your account, all that's left to do is to book an eligible flight with Virgin Australia by 25 February 2025 and fly by 30 June 2025.

How to earn double Status Credits*

Step 1. Book an eligible Virgin Australia flight (a flight operated by Virgin Australia, with a VA flight number, which normally earns Status Credits). Book by 25 February 2025 and include your Velocity Frequent Flyer number in your booking.

Step 2. Travel on the booking by 30 June 2025.

Double Status Credits Offer

*To be eligible for the Double Status Credits promotion you must (1) have voted in the poll in your Year In Review email sent to you, by 11.59pm AEST 31 December 2024; (2) book and ticket an Eligible Flight between 12.01am AEST 19 February 2025 and 11.59pm AEST 25 February 2025 (Promotion Period) and enter a valid Velocity membership number at the time of booking; and (3) complete travel on the Eligible Flight booked during the Promotion Period by 30 June 2025. An Eligible Flight is any Domestic, Trans-Tasman or International Short Haul Virgin Australia marketed and operated flight for travel between 19 February 2025 and 30 June 2025 (inclusive) that normally earns Status Credits. The promotion is for new Eligible Flights booked and ticketed during the Promotion Period, and changes to existing bookings made prior to the Promotion Period are not eligible. Status Credits cannot be earned on Velocity Reward Seat bookings. Codeshare services marketed or operated by partner airlines are not eligible for this offer. Bonus Status Credits will be earned in addition to base Status Credits earned. Bonus Status Credits will be applied to the originally purchased fare class and any upgrades (other than when you paid the full commercial fare) will not attract bonus Status Credits as a result of this offer. There is no limit on the amount of times this offer can be redeemed. Where multiple guests are listed on the same booking, only those guests who satisfy the above eligibility criteria are eligible for this offer. Status Credits offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion. You should allow up to 4 weeks after satisfying the above eligibility criteria for the bonus Status Credits to be allocated. Velocity membership and Status Credit earn are subject to the Member Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time.

      Went back to it, there's a poll at the very end of the email with a choice between points and SC.

  Update: I went through my email history to find the poll it was referring to, and it's an email I received at the start of December with the subject line "[Name], it's your world so let's take a look at your 2024 with us"

  At the bottom of that email there is a choice between either Status Credits or Velocity Points, under "Here’s to another year in the skies, and a chance to have your say. So tell us, are you planning to focus more on earning Status Credits or Velocity Points in 2025?"

  So I guess it was a choose your own promo type situation. I had obviously chosen Status Credits at the time.
