    • what u talking about mate? they are still going through the codes. u have to wait

  • Last post on the Allphones FB page… (5hrs ago)

""Those of you that have legitimate codes and have entered full & correct details on the All Amazing Deals website will be able to redeem the offer. We thank you for your patience & we look forward to supplying you with your new handset.""

To me that reads .. if you entered your correct details on the All Amazing Deals site and received a code then you will be able to use it…?

Strange how they say that they were "overwhelmed" by the reaction… LOLLZZZ It was a massive offer… what did they expect??

  • +16

Peeps please stop the speculation. The official position as of this moment in time is as follows:

On Facebook Allphones Official rep posted:

Thank you for this overwhelming response to this offer. We always want to look after our customers. Unfortunately, there has been an incredible amount of fraudulent entries into our system. We have closed the offer down. It will take 7-14 days to check legitimate entries. Those of you that have legitimate codes and have entered full & correct details on the All Amazing Deals website will be able to redeem the offer. We thank you for your patience & we look forward to supplying you with your new handset.

An FB user then sought to clarify this:

would you please directly answer the question of whether or not unredeemed valid codes are still valid and redeemable?

And please be less ambiguous in your response, otherwise you just going from epic fail to spectacular fail

    to which Allphones responded:

Once we have been through the long process of authenticating the codes with legitimate customers. The offer will be honored.

So if you managed to get the code, there is still hope, but it will take time. Please don't go whinging to ACCC, Fair Trading etc yet, because if they're going to get slammed that way as well then they will simply use their T&Cs as a shield to can the whole thing - yes it is possible and I have already discussed both the legalities of this and when online contracts are formed at length in the Pauls Warehouse Asics-gate scandal earlier this year. Look that up if you want to know about those points.

As for whats next? Well hang on to both your code and the original email which you received containing the code, because I feel simply having just the code will not be enough due to certain "enterprising individuals" (and I use these substituted words with the greatest restraint) on this site posting to +/- 1, 4, 500 and use other peoples codes! Be sure to forward that original AAD email to both allphones email addresses outlining that you hold a legitimate code from all amazing deals and that as per the facebook post you await their further instructions as to how to claim your valid code. Then you have to play the waiting game, which to be honest mau take a few weeks at the rate they got hammered.

Sorry if you find this tl;dr but I thought seeing as same things are still being asked over a comprehensive post might help.

    • +1

Speculation is all we have. I already posted a quote from allphones on facebook that directly contradicts what is said there. I think it is highly unlikely they will still process people who couldn't make an order.

      • +3

i wish they dont tbh. didnt a guy said he has 4 codes and havent order…? these people made allphones pulled their offer!

    • Well, let's see if they sort if out before the credit card bill comes!

Also, those who paid with a debit card are outta luck…their money is being held indefinitely. Or at least till Allphones sorts it out. If they don't do it before Christmas, I'm guessing it'll only be sorted in the new year!

  • Just a silly question. I have a valid code and the email I got from signing up and as per the above suggestion by "ccrap" I want to contact allphones and send them my code and the email and then wait….. However, I can't find their email address d'oh. Would someone please post it for me? Thanks.

    • +2

I guess you don't look at the bold text at the top of all these pages?

      • Whooops… my bad. sorry. too busy with work so didn't bother looking at it or the 7 pages of comments. But checking ozbargain every 10 mins is like an addiction now, so I have to take some time out for it even in the busy work schedule.

    • please read all 7 pages worth of comments and you will find it :P

  • Well, I jumped in as soon as I saw this on OzBargain and received the code alright. I didn't even try to actually buy a phone yet, as I saw the code was valid until end of February. So, now I am left wondering, should I just buy some phone (although I don't really need one!) now while they still may honour it. Might actually email them and enquire whether I really can use the code still in Feb.

  • So it appears that Allphones will honour legitimate codes before the promotion expired after checking that everything is correct. What happens if I unsubscribed myself from amazingdeals afterwards because I thought it was a scam??

      • I still have email in which they have sent us promotion code.
Therefore, that would be enough for a legitimate code, I believe

        • Yep, except for this part of the ToS:

“13. AllAmazingDeals.com.au and All Phones reserve the right to remove or amend the voucher offer at any time.”

  • can someone send me a link for allphones facebook?

      • Thanks…But I don't have facebook account. Therefore, I can't access it. :(
There must be another link which a user can access to without login to facebook.

        • +3

If you don't have a facebook account, why do you want to see their facebook page so badly? They have a normal website and all the relevant posts are going to be reposted here anyway.

Just got an email from the AllPhones Facebook Staff.

    Dear Valued Customer,

We hope this e-mail will provide all the answers you need regarding the Allphones/Amazing Deals promotion.

Unfortunately, a recent influx of illegitimate uses of the codes by a small minority of purchasers may have resulted in a delay in you being able to use your code. Please rest assured however that we are working around the clock to ensure all legitimate codes will be honored as soon as possible. if you legitimately purchased an offer, received your confirmation email and code, Allphones will honor this purchase and you will be able to use your code up to 29 February, 2012, in accordance with the terms and conditions.

Provided you have not used your code already, Allphones will be in contact with you shortly to let you know when you can resume use of your code.

Again, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience during this time.

    • Just what I wanted to know. I will wait for the Galaxy Nexus. Thanks.

    • did they message you through facebook itself?

      • It was an email sent to my Gmail account.

    • I am wondering how & when they will contact us for these codes?

      • I'm assuming via email, facebook or twitter; probably in the coming days.

    • if you legitimately purchased an offer, received your confirmation email and code, Allphones will honor this purchase and you will be able to use your code up to 29 February, 2012, in accordance with the terms and conditions.

I don't get it. If you've already purchased an offer, then you've used code?

I really think they are making things worse for people with codes but not yet ordered by not giving out a clear and simple statement. Will you be able to use a legitimate code with a new order later or not? If so, what does already purchasing an offer have to do with it?

      • What dont you understand about legitimately? Smh

        • +1

          He's pointing out the wording.

Allphones will honor this purchase and you will be able to use your code up to 29 February, 2012

If they honour the purchase, doesn't that mean you've already used the code, to make the purchase?

    • Got the same reply, keeping my fingers crossed.

    • +1

If you want to purchase it for $100???

      • -1

        Spirit of giving much?

    • +3

      Done :) Check your email

    • +3

Would it even work…since they will be checking whether the code matches their email (allamazingdeals) database..

    • +3

      @ashish.aus

Does anybody has a code and not planning to use it? Please email me on [email protected].

There's no point in asking as you won't be able to use it for ordering because the order confirmation will be sent to the email address associated with the voucher after validation for legitimate use. Besides, this contravenes their T&C.

    • +2

quick sign him up for spam emails.
Seriously mate. why put ur personal email out here?

  • +5

i managed to process my order yesterday before it got cancelled.

got a phone call this morning stating that my order will be honoured and that it will be shipped within 7-14 days.

    • May I ask what time your order time was? (In your confirmation email)

      • +1

        11.38 aest.

        • +3

Thanks for the update. My order went through about 10 minutes before 10am and haven't heard back from them yet, so they aren't going through in chronological order (perhaps reverse?)

Also, you got $200 off a phone and no pos vote? :)

        • I tried at 11:42 am. But it won't work on chrome.

I started downloading firefox, internet explorer but it didn't work.

I got another code to see if that works, but same thing had happened.

      • I ordered mine around noon, but am yet to receive a call. I've sent Allphones an email to see what's happening.

    • aw thats awesome! well good on them!

    • Thanks for the info mancs. Though, I do hope they can ship out the orders for people who got legitimate orders in before xmas.

Also, other comments make it sound promising for the people who got codes but not yet get an order in.

      • I should probably state that after i got my confirmation i emailed them straight away and asked them the shipping time etc.

Anyone who has a confirmation email should have an email address linked to an assigned person and i suggest emailing them as your first point of contact.

By the sounds of the person on the phone, it did seem that they were trying to get as many orders out and delivered by next friday (23rd).

Got the same reply from allphones too…

    • yup…I received the same email about 3 hours ago.

  • yes.. same email to me as well.

I hope they will resume and honour this offer soon.

    keeping my fingers cross.

    • was it the same email out of the blue or had you emailed allphones already? cheers

  • Well I purchased the S2 with my voucher yesterday before they stopped it and didn't get that email. So I'm hoping no news is good news in terms of receiving my phone.

    • Same here, my CC is showing payment and I received an email receipt confirmation with Allphones as contact person. So hope all is good

  • yep confirmed just got the email too, I am glad they are going to honour this deal and hopefully i can put my order in soon before Christmas. Great deal especially for Australian stock.

  • +4

Watch them jack the prices of the phones up before accepting codes again.

    • +7

Maybe you should change your name from hippocrit to pessimist?

    • shhh! there reading this don't give them ideas!!!

  • +1

yeah they may be a possibility but the code seems to be valid till 29/02/2012 so I dont think they will jack up the prices for 3 months since it may lose alot of customers in that period, but then again allphones could of been ozbargained so much they have to mark it up to sustain business…. (i dont think that be the case since they expected this deal to happen).

    • so someone take photo of the phones

      so we have proof

  • is samsung galaxy s2 worth getting?

    or get galaxy nexus
    or wait for sg3?

    ==
    hope they would honour it

at least we got an email proof

    • I think, its really worth to by Samsung Galaxy S2. It is still one of the best in Android smartphone market.
I will definitely buy Samsung Galaxy S2.

  • hm i reckon the S1 is in fact the best all rounder after the discount but S2 is a awesome phone for the price.
Galaxy nexus i dont think it be under 400 under the discount, and Sg3 i have a feeling it wont be around when the discount voucher is about to expire…

    • what's the going price for galaxy nexus?

I think this is good if we can get it for $500.

      though

      galaxy s = $85 is a bargain

      • $85? do u have a $300 voucher off? cuz the sith has the galaxy s priced at 385

        • sorri

i thought was 300, wrong calculation

          yeah so $185

        • Better yet, the Jedi has the galactic empire within its grasp

  • .

  • I sent them a message and received this:

    • where'd you send them a message?

    • everyone got that email

      • Nope still waiting for my email. If deal still valid, buying after Xmas would be ok too.

      • +1

I mustn't count as "everyone" 'coz I haven't got it, and I was legitimately holding onto my code for next year too :-(

      • yup almost everyone who emailed them at the above given email address.

    • I am going to guess that once they resume acceptance of codes on their website, the price of the popular phones like the gs2 will increase by around 100-150$.

      • I would think so too..

      • +1

If they're going to increase the price of those phones and leave them up until the end of Feb, they aren't going to sell many. They are a big company and have a lot of customers outside of this deal.

  • Seems no one interested in buying SE Arc :D
The specification looks good and its very stylish.

    • +1

It does but has already been superseded by a newer model (not yet in Australia I believe!)

      • Yea but ~$200 still a great bargain.
People seem to lean toward galasxy s instead of this.

      • Yes it has been superseded by the Xperia Arc S, which is the same phone but with a 1.4g processor. Which I am pretty sure is being sold around in Oz.

Although rumours are the new dual core SE Xperia will be coming out very soon.

It still is a better deal than SGS 1

      • It does but has already been superseded by a newer model (not yet in Australia I believe!)

It was released 15 Nov (Arc S)

It's basically the same as the Arc, but only with a few differences

Got if from ebay for $300 (BARGAIN!, seller got the pricing wrong)

Might get the Arc or Galaxy for a chrissie present for someone

    • +6

No, I'm wondering about it. Checking out the specs, and comparing the Arc to the S2 (which seems the other good choice), it seems like it's 85% of the Galaxy S2, at 50% of the post-discount price.

      Here's a side-by-side spec comparison here: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3621&idPhone2=…

There's a lot of similarities in specs:
      * Similar weight, similar size, similar release dates, similar dimensions, similar expandability, same camera res, similar OS situations, both brand-name vendors, etc.
      * They both have CyanogenMod official support (I only want Android devices that run CyanogenMod now, since it's the best way to ensure you'll have the latest and greatest Android, irrespective of what the OEM does, and get the best out of the device)

Here's are the main things that are different:
      * S2 has dual core, and faster processor (1.2 GHz), whereas Arc is single core (1 GHz).
      * Arc display has slightly better screen res, but S2 has the better display type.
      * Camera pictures are slightly clearer on the S2 compared to the arc, even though their camera resolutions are the same.
      * S2 has quad band 3G, so you can use it pretty much anywhere on the planet, and on every Australian carriers, whereas the Arc has dual-band 3G that restricts you Optus or Vodafone.
      * S2 has front-facing video camera, so you can make video calls; the Arc does not.

So they're in the same ballpark, but the S2 is without a doubt the better phone. Now the question is: Do the above omissions make the S2 worth twice the price of the Arc? It might be a reasonable strategy to get the Arc, and use the difference to bring the next upgrade date forward slightly. Also I'm a bit resistant to spending too much on a phone, given how quickly the tech keeps progressing, and how rapidly these devices depreciate - whatever you get now will be obsolete and virtually worthless in 18 to 24 months.

Anyone used both and able to offer their thoughts? Or any other comments?

      • +1

A good site to compare is Geek-A-Phone

Link below for Arc S and S2
        http://geekaphone.com/compare/Sony-Ericsson-Xperia-arc-S-vs-…

Best phone that is recommended is the S2(not taking into account the pricing)
        http://geekaphone.com/recommend#!general=price&price=1300

CNet however places the Arc as the best phone overall(takes overall into account)

For the post-discount price of the Arc looks like a real bargain to me. If I hadn't just invested in a cheap Windows Phone, I would seriously consider it for myself. And if I hadn't made up my mind that I really want and need full qwerty keypad. But specs-wise, you get a heck of a lot for less than $200 with the Arc!

      • I agree with you.
I wouldn't spend $400 on a phone as I already have Iconia tablet which pretty much suits all my needs. This is why I am considering SE Arc. I think I will buy it after x-mas, may be the price will drop more :D

      • +3

A few things to point out.

Galaxy S II - 16/32GB Phone Storage, Arc - 320MB Phone Storage. For now, with Gingerbread, Samsung probably would only allocate 2GB to the app space (but rest of 14GB/30GB still usable - kinda like a built in SD Card). When Ice Cream Sandwich update is available, the partition will get re-done and it can be up to 16GB/32GB (hopefully, they will do it right). Sony put in a very good single core CPU/GPU for the Arc, but choke it with limited phone storage - same mistake Acer did on Liquid Metal.

Now, I know there is Link2SD… but it is still quite annoying and painful.

Dual Core vs Single Core - There is a difference and you can feel it. You get the extra smoothness using the browser. Things do run faster. You can stream 720p mkvs on a dual core phone (1080p is still a struggle). Single core - don't bother with 720p mkvs.

If you are getting a primary phone, consider the S2. If this is your secondary phone, Arc should be fine.

        • so if i put 720 mkv on the sg2, it will play smoothly?

          not playing 1080p is dissapointing.
only tegra3 will play it well…

        • 720 mkv on sg2 should play fine.
1080p mkv - dunno - if the GPU can accelerate mkv, then maybe… I wouldn't count on it though.

Note: I am referring to mkv files. If you are willing to decode and re-enable your 1080p movies, there are formats which will play smoothly on sg2 I am sure.

        • I prefer not to re-encode,
          just a waste of time

I prefer the pickup and go ideology

        • not that it helps now, but 1080p plays beautifully on the SGS2 played on a 40" tv using MHL.
          Go figure the processing power

    • im kicking myself of not ordering arc. mathematically, the best deal compare sg2 with $200 discount

      • Me too. But I am still hoping that it will be available before the end of Feb and we'll be able to use our code then. My other option is the Nokia N9, but I can't quite justify spending $400 on a dead platform. Having said that, my Nokia N900 is still by far the best mobile I've ever used. Everything else feels so restricted after that.

  • I feel sad :'(

    • +2

Don't worry, misery seeks company - I'm sure you will soon be joined by many others here on the same track (i.e. looking like they have just lost $200).

  • No call from AP yet, just the standard email. My order went through as well as payment and confirmation email.

    • which phone did u get?

      • A black GSII. Does it matter?

    • i didnt even get the standard email lol.
