Yearly Unlimited Usenet Access for €35.88/year (~A$58) @ Eweka

90

Hi guys, pretty good deal for unlimited usenet, 69% off and renews yearly. Might be more expensive compared to other providers but you can't beat Eweka when it comes to retention. My blocks rarely get used if something doesn't complete on Eweka. Not to mention they've recently increased speeds from 300Mbit as well.

Features:

  • NTD Eweka backbone
  • 50 SSL Connections
  • 4515+ Days retention
  • Unmetered access

Good price but this has been around for months so definitely not a temporary offer. Not sure why people were signing up to their Black Friday deal when this was cheaper.

Also, even with Eweka block accounts are necessary. My UsenetExpress, Abavia, Usenet.Farm and ViperNews blocks are used daily (albeit in relatively small amounts).

    • Since block accounts are usually necessary, I think it's better to go with something like newshosting.com US$20 per year - and having a couple of block accounts.

      • None of the block providers offer the same retention as Eweka though. I was with NewsDemon (when it was still a Newshosting reseller) and I'd sometimes get incomplete downloads, even with the block accounts listed above. Eweka solved a lot of that.

Eweka follows NTD rather than DMCA too so content seems to stay up a bit longer.

          Ah okay, interesting.
I'm with newshosting and have usenet farm and newsgroupdirect as backups.
Haven't had any incompletes and the backups don't use much data at all.

    • Oh thats good to know, so I guess maybe my blocks won't end up being a waste. So far I've only had to use a few megs from Farm, otherwise my blocks never seem to get used.

Use disposable nappies to prepaid credit cards. One of the best pairings for this (nzbgeek) got breached recently.

    • Use disposable nappies to prepaid credit cards

Well, that's definitely one way to do it :/

    • I guess you could do that. Eweka does accept PayPal though.

    • I’ve just learnt this 😅, I just cancelled my CC after getting the Nzbgeek email yesterday, and have another one on the way. I reluctantly used my CC on it recently. Didn’t even think of prepaid CC.

      • you subscribed to nzbgeek only recently?

    • Ahhhhhh shit, first Ledger got hacked, now this. My infos leaking out all over the place!

  • This has been running for a long time.

    • I searched and no one posted the deal on Ozb. There was an expired one but it lead to the full price link.

  • Any deals on block accounts?

    • Yeah block discounts available on UsenetPrime, UsenetFarm and ViperNews afaik

      • Sorry I was not very clear I'm after a eweka block account, can't seem to find any discount on one

        • Oh right. As far as I know Eweka doesn't sell block accounts.

  • is it pronounced Youweka or Eveka?
