Yet even a 3090 will have issue achieving high FPS in many new titles at max settings.
At 1080p?
This sort of monitor is probably for the CS GO and Valorant like games where you can easily get +300fps on 1080p with ok cards.
You'll still want the best of the best for lower render latency
Depends on the use, I have a 24" 1080p 240hz monitor for high fps comptitive games. Then for open world and other games I use a 75" 4k 120hz TV. Honestly the 1080p monitor gets a lot more use!
FHD still best for competitive. nothing more tho imo
'Your chance to get onto the IPS panel bandwagon'
gee, for $500 it's a no brainer iniit
As soon as you hit 27inch size screens you should be looking at 1440p as the standard. If you're a competitive player and want to stick to 1080p for maximum frames just find a 24inch high refresh rate monitor IPS. Will be more cost effective, plus you'll have the better colours if you're really wanting them.
You don't buy 240hz and care about cost effective
You're getting downvoted though I do agree with you. For competitive 1080p 24" is the sweet spot, I use the 24" 240hz 1080p Alienware monitor myself.
I believe most the Fortnite pros (for example) use 24" 240hz 1080p monitors, though some are now moving to 24" 360hz 1080p.
Unfortunately, the response times on first gen 360Hz are basically elite 240Hz, in part because the panels are all IPS.
dont know why you getting negs.
1080 24'' is still the gold standard for competitive gaming at least FPS for what i saw.
being 1080 24 TN 144, 5 years ago cost about the same, finally, 240hz is here. not too sure about IPS. as the washout color TN really makes FPS game easier for me to play personally.
I think the negs are coming from the downvote on the deal being because they have a different opinion. Should have opted to point out it was a mediocre deal and spared the neg.
literally just tested this on my 144hz monitor and can notice the difference.
Referto the last line of my post
60 to 144 is night and day………..
@Hornpub: A little less stuttery maybe but night and day? No. Also I find 1080p fine at 27". Absolutely no issue. I believe there are people who can tell and see differences. But not everyone, and certainly not me.
Saw a video where they tested this.
Blind test group played on a few different setups and they all played better with higher fpsAsk any CSGO or Valorant pro and they'll disagree with you
dont even need pro…my mum can tell the diff…its just a matter of do they care or not.
I'm sure you also don't like some food that I think tastes great, but thanks for your subjective opinion.
It's not been proven objectively at all. It was original theorised, then disproven, repeatedly.
its been proven humans cant tell the difference over about 80 ~ 90 FPS
Do you have a source for your assertion that isn't your arse? Maybe you should have gone to Specsavers.
Must be a noob lol
While a good deal, I think most would rather save about $80 and go a bit smaller. Don't know why LordNoon6 is being downvoted above.
FHD that is outdated technology
