        It's Black Jack Friday ~~

        • more like Jack Black Friday!!

    • +2

Hello is Jack Here, yes and he is jacking up the prices as we speak.

    • +5

if jack helped you off a horse, would you help jack off a horse?

    • Post some examples oh wise one.

    • Any good deals from Jack's_Depot? (That is quite literally the name of one of the selected sellers)

  • +3

    Computer Appliance?

    • +5

Unfortunately no stock and they don't list any decent stuff for the 20% off.

      • Perhaps a motherboard or ram, if you are planning to upgrade to the new Ryzen 3 CPUs

        • Already have a gigabyte x570 aorus master. The ram is too expensive even with 20% off and no highend CPUs.

      • +1

Rm850x has just been added back in stock at $239, $191.20 after discount assuming no jack. I expect we'll see Amazon do $185 on it

      • +1

I got excited when i saw them. then noticed the 27gn950-b happens to be excluded from the sale.. ffs

  • +2

Any of these shop sell gopro 9? Need one for the holiday. Currently I think the best deal is from gopro website bundle.

      • For 8 I think Amazon has the best,456 for a bundle

    • I would get the Insta360 One R. You get the 360 lens kit and a 4K lens module for $607 (RRP 799). It's like having both GoPro Max and Gopro 9.
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Insta360-ONE-R-Twin-Edition/1744…

      • Haven't done any research on this one. Maybe I will spend sometime tonight. Thanks mate.

    • I've been looking as well. I don't think there'll be a better price. The subscription is worth about $70, the swivel mount and floating grip about $28 each, battery about $21 (all with the subscription discount), Seems like a decent deal given the price is what most retailers are asking for the camera alone.

      • To first time gopro owner, I think bundle is a good deal. Otherwise camera itself, JB's giftcard deal is better.

        • I'd be a first time GoPro user so the discounted accessories via the subscription will be even better value in the long run.

          • @apsilon: Me too, however I do not do outdoor activities. Gopro only for the upcoming Jan family holiday. I think after that it may just collecting dust. It's the main reason I haven't pull the trigger.

  • The pre black friday 20% off was lame af. Fingers crossed this one will be as good as the one they did to interrupt Prime day!

  • +10

Well Jack opened a permanent shop on eBay!!

    jacksemporium

  • +1

what are the chances of the cashback also jacking up on Black Friday?

    • Yesterday ebay 10% shopback. Dunno of itll return

  • +8

Jackie when you're touching my soul in the candlelight
Jackie when I lost control in the heat of the night
Jack, Jack, Jackie…cant get you off my miiiiiinnnndddddddd

  • +1

Thanks dealbot, let's see how this rolls.

    • You forgot the t before rolls…loll

  • +10

I don't get the issue. I've always found something at a great price with 20% off. Last week I got a unifi LR AP for $140. Show me anywhere in Australia where you can get it for that price? I must be the only person here who has saved hundreds of dollars with the plus membership. Admittedly I wouldn't pay for it, but if I get $50 voucher for my $49 outlay, I'll continue.

    • +1

      Yes

    • -3

Exactly. And i get that places might need to adjust the pricing on some things to make sure the discount the 20% gives doesnt leave them in the red for that item. Owning a business i know that the profit in some things isnt much so a blanket 20% off everything you sell just isnt workable.

If the price goes up 20% or it can still be found cheaper after the discount then that is a problem.

      • +4

        Doesn't ebay cover the 20%?

        • Ive heard that but i doubt they would cover the full amount. Id imagine they would agree to cover the cost of part of it (if any). If they covered the full amount i would think they would be better off doing it with stores that will get a lot of sales through ebay, not all these unknown stores that doesnt generate much interest or sales.

        • +2

The story given is that eBay covers 10% and the stores are expected to cover the other 10%. Many stores jack up their prices 10% so they're not out any money. It means usually you're still getting 10% off, but it's still illegal; between eBay and the stores they're advertising 20% off when it's not compared to the usual price.

          • @CarbonTwelve: Well I must just shop differently. I look for the product I want, sort it by price then see who in the first dozen or so is in the promotion. If the end is substantially cheaper that what is usual price, then I buy it. If it's been jacked, it probably won't be substantially cheaper. I don't look for evidence of jacking, just evidence of bargains.

            • +1

@dmbminaret: I'm not saying I don't buy it when it's cheapest; I'll always buy at the best price. But I do agree that ACCC should be getting onto this and stopping the misleading advertising (or stopping the price jacking).

            • -1

@dmbminaret: thr hardcore ozbargainets dont shop that way.
it also encourages jacking when shoppers dont care and reward the illegal behaviour

              • +1

@Garagesale: what do you mean 'hardcore' ozbargainets don't shop that way? How are they shopping then? If it's not looking for THE best price available across every platform, then hand in your badge.

      • +1

If the seller can't afford the reduced margins then they shouldn't sign up to be involved in the promotion. Nobody is forcing them.

        • So your saying because a couple of items they might sell should be able to cop a 20% discount or dont join? this isnt how business works and is why others get away with 'exclusions' with their 'storewide' discounts. Ebay doesnt offer exclusions so they either have to adjust the price or remove the product altogether from the ebay store.

      • lol salty OZb'ers. Negging because they cant understand that not all products in a business have the profit margin for a blanket 20%. Its pretty easy to understand or are you really that naive to think every product in a store must have a 20% profit.

        • There shouldn't even be a negging button to press. Everyone should be able to say whatever they like as long as it isn't inciting violence. Everyone is so soft nowadays they just report people because they are weak minded.

    • Yeah, you can often find something if you get lucky or put in the effort.

The reason people are getting salty is because jacking is illegal, and because it's becoming increasingly hard to find something, especially compared to the sitewide sales Ebay had in the past.

  • Yay! Can't wait to meet Uncle Jack :)

    • or, gender-fluid, uncle/aunt Jack.

      • Parent’s sibling Jack.

  • Where are you Jack?

  • oooh, hopefully some decent tv deals

  • +7

I love paying 20% off an item that has been increased by 30% the night before.

  • +4

Funny how the left handed guitar I was watching from Better Music had 2 in stock and suddenly out of stock yesterday but is still in stock on their website.

  • +1

Do you need to have the useless eBay Plus?

    • +8

      is 'need useless' an oxymoron?

        • +3

How hard is it to read the T&Cs?

          • @thisisscotts: harder than getting an answer from here for sure, well unless nobody replied with an answer then it will be easier

  • +1

3month ago when eBay did 20% off there were really good deals, bought a 3600 for $275 plus there is a 5% shop back bring it down to $264, when Black Friday comes price jack. Useless

    • All very good if they actually honour the deals… I ordered a 3900xt from Shallothead for $640 and they held my money for a month or so before cancelling my order.

  • Even the list has hundreds of sellers but quite a disappointing list. 70% of them jack their price up

  • Thanks.

  • Finally 20% off deals back to back.
    Looking good

  • +1

Now Cashrewards and ShopBack. Do a 20% cashback no cap on these store to offset the jacking price

  • What happen to appliancecentral? only 19 items?

    • +4

      Shhhh.
They are taking items off the shelves.
Will update them with Jacked up price tomorrow

      • No, AC simply does not list any noticeable items this time.

  • +7

    search link needed….

      • +43

thanks for the link, I had to change it into 4 links to make it working, hopefully it helps others

  • I know most prices get jacked (really, the accc needs to do something about this), but you can sometimes find a diamond in the rough.

  • So this is the same deal as the current plus only. BLACK FRIDAY code, but for everyone?

    • Correct.

  • Can anyone find the DJI Mavic Air 2 Fly More Combo with 20% off from these sellers?

    • I'm also in the lookout for one, but couldn't find it. DigiDirect used to have them.

      • +1

Thats exactly where I checked first, they've just got all the PolarPro and accessories. I'm not even going to bother signing up for eBay Plus again, waste of time and no value unless you're a bot.

        • will come back tomorrow with jacked up price making it same price as of now or couple of dollars off

  • +1

Yesterday’s deal was a fizzer and hardly included the millions of items eBay was spruiking. Signed up to eBay plus specifically for the 20% off but it wasn’t for all ebay plus items like the Amazon Day sale, just certain items.

Wish Scorptec was included on this list for tomorrow

  • +1

Are we going to see another gaming rig up for grabs? fingers crossed!

  • +1

@ 20% off there is a bunch of great craft beers on boozebud
    https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/boozebud_au/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=…

    a few examples:
Hop Nation Brewing Co. J-Juice 375mL Case of 16 Craft Beer $92.29 (should be 73)
Dainton Brewery New Age IPA 355mL Case of 24 Craft Beer $68.79 should come to $55

  • Who is Jack? All of u talk about him

    • +1

      Price jacking.

Increasing the price before putting it on sale.

      • +1

        Got it. Thanks, Jack

    • +4

      Uncle Jack.
He works full time whenever ebay sale is on

  • Hey ZZZ is included; nice.

  • +4

It really is just crap these days.
AMD 5600x at CenterCom- $469 delivered
AMD 5600x at eBay 20% off sale- $629 (FutuOnline) *.8 = $503.20. still significantly more.
You'll struggle to find a bargain as the pre-20% off price is just so inflated.

  • +1

Nice to see stores coming back to 20% - but shame about the $300 max ….!

    • Yeah the $300 max makes it kinda meh for things that will be pricejacked over $1500.

  • +2

Meh.. Looked for knives, mini pcs/nucs, ryzen apus, ultawide monitors. Just meh.

    • +1

I was adding items to watch lists right now and some have been marked out of stock just now, even though they were "more than 10 available" like 5 mins ago 🤦🏻‍♂️

  • +1

    Jack's your uncle

    • +1

Shame we only get to see him during ebay sales, we usually call him Bob

  • +1

Appliance central used to have a lot of TVs on sale. Now they got only 19 shitty items listed. Glad I didnt renew my ebay membership

  • +2

Scumbaggery started. Computer Alliance first jacked the LG 27GN950 from 1499 to 1599 and now they've market it as out of stock on their eBay store… It's still happily sitting at 1499 in stock on their site.

  • +1

Computer Alliance charged me a $40 restocking fee to return an unused item steer clear of these guys shady as hell.

    • +1

Ebay may be able to "look into this" for you if you are a Plus member.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/help/buying/buying-ebay-plus/buying-…

Why did I receive a refund that's less than what I paid for the item?
If you received a refund that's less than what you paid for the item, please contact us and we'll look into it for you.

  • +6

Trying to buy motherboard from Computer Alliance, get error "This code can't be applied to your order."

    Anyone know why? too early?
