Heyo, Dell Black Friday deals are back, have the S2721Q and the S2721QS (height adjustable variant). Both at their cheapest prices ever. Both monitors are the same 4k UHD and confirmed to have HDCP 2.2. The difference between them is QS has a much more versatile stand, whilst the Q only has tilt(not an issue if you vesa mount). For this deal we have 1100 units on the Q and 1400 units on the QS.

        Hmm maybe it is something you just get used to. I might have to give it another few days. It's noticeable using applications that are bright white (Ozbargain, Outlook etc.), however not too bad on dark applications (Photoshop etc).

        • I'm sure if i paid full price for the monitor i would be pretty sad haha

    • This is the first things (blurry edges on each side) that I noticed when I turn it on. I thought my monitor is defect. I even double check "Am I buying IPS monitor or VA monitor"? Thank you for your information. At least I know I am not the only one that having this problem.

    • Got mine today. Can see it but doesn't really bother. Noticed my Lenovo L27i-28 also has this, although a little less but never noticed it. It depends a lot on how close you sit to it / at what res you use it. If you use at 200% scaling then you are a bit further back and it's much less evident, but if you go full res with everything tiny you'll be sitting close and it's much more apparent. (and that's not because it's closer - but because of the angle. If you look at the edge straight on, moving head where edge is - you can't see the blur, or at least I can't)

        Just an update, I did call the customer service and the lady said, there is a shortage of this monitor and they are expecting some arrival sometime early or late next week…

                Been WFH but they still might say no one at home and leave a slip.

                • @V-Legion: I was at home the whole day on Monday watching the front door every 10-20 minutes as I was expecting the delivery of my QS. Not sure how I missed the StarTrack delivery guy but he left a card without knocking or ringing the door bell. I had no clue I had missed the delivery before I went to track the delivery status at around 5pm thinking he was running late.

        Some people just need some other kind of validation. Hehe. I too can’t wait for mine to arrive but nothing much I can do until I get the Startrack shipping link. That’s much more reliable than Dell tracking.

    Startrack is peace of shit. Everyone at home and still give note. Now I have to go to the stupid depot 40km away to collect

    • Yes, I lodged couple of complains on the Auspost website.
      My postie always rings every units on my building each time, but StarTrack always managed to miss me.

        • Nvm, it got updated that ETA will be tomorrow. There’s now also a Startrack link.

    • The DBSchenker ETA portal is definitely the right solution. The latest update, my monitors are with startrack now and will be delivered tomorrow. The official Dell order page still shows it is in production and no more updates.

  • Just checked the Dell.com.au order status and even though I got the eBay email that said it would be delayed, it said it just shipped. I ordered the same time as everyone else, maybe about 400th in line.

    It says it was dispatched on the 9th and I should receive it on the 14th.

    Got my QS a couple of days ago.

    Pretty happy with it, but not sure the stand gives much utility over the version without the stand, for my uses. Probably better value putting the difference towards a gas strut monitor mount for greater flexibility of movement.

    One annoying thing so far, is the highest I can get for HDMI with a 4K Android box plugged into it is 2K@24Hz.

    Anyone else had better luck with getting 4K@60Hz via HDMI?

      I'm having zero problems getting 4K@60Hz on Windows 10, using the included HDMI cable. Sounds like an issue with your Android box — have you tried using some other type of cable such as DisplayPort?

      • Not with the Android box, as it only has HDMI out.

        Doubt HDMI out to DP in adapter is going to help much.

        Thanks for the verification that 4K is working over HDMI though, at least gives me a target rules out one target of troubleshooting.

        • No probs. In that case, try it using a different HDMI cable, it might be that the included cable is faulty somehow. Rare, but it can happen.

    Just checked my ebay order and it's shipped. Unfortunately the person who put in the order tracking number put in the wrong one, so I have someone's order details from Brisbane…

      Same story here! Checked the shipping details yesterday and it said ETA early January. No startrack tracking number received but got the monitor today. I ordered on the second day of the sale, so I did not expect it to arrive before Christmas. What a surprise!
      27" is very overwhelming for me who's been using a 20.5" hahahaha! The view angle is not the best, speaker could be louder, but I can't fault anything else. Overall it's a very good and beautiful monitor. Thanks op for posting this deal.

  • viewing these comments using the monitor..having set up 1 of 2.. I think ordering dual 27" might have been OzB overkill.

    ..also anyone have recommended settings for base level calibration?

    • The size surprised me too. This is my first monitor and what I've learned for future reference is that I don't need multiple monitors, what I need is to go a few inches larger.

      • I have to admit now that I have set up the second one - I don't think I could go back - with dual 4k 27" i can have 4 apps open each with enough space to view/type - love it!

        BUT - I do have a reasonably big desk (depth and width) so I don't feel dominated by my screens

        • Try rotating one of the 27" vertical (assuming you have a stand that can do it). Awesome for coding.

  • The Dell tracking details given to me I'm hoping are wrong because apparently it's just been delivered to a guy in Sydney named Jonathan. Hoping they have just given me the wrong tracking/order number.

          I had the same issue, ebay number got me a tracking number with a delivery to VIC and I'm in QLD.
          Thanks to your post, I looked again at my dell invoice and it had a different order number which got me the correct tracking.

    Ebay invoice received in the morning at 8am and moments later, the courier arrives at my doorstep with the QS monitor. This is despite me getting the delayed shipping to 20th Jan notification email. Very happy - Thanks @LiMaaa!

    • You'll need to organise an exchange either through Dell Australia customer care (phoning them) or contact seller through ebay. I hope they can sort you by Xmas, but there is likely to be a bit of a wait unfortunately. Sounds like a shipping issue and maybe courier dropped it, which is a shame.

              • @Mydc5r: You have to wait till the dell portal updates to shipped, and then there will be a "track your order" button which you can click on and will take you to the StarTrack tracking site.

                On another note, received my monitors and have them setup - one for the missus and one for me. Looks awesome on next to my iMac on dual monitor arms!

    • Check the rtings review as they recommend some settings, bear in mind each monitor is different so you may have to play with yours.

    Anyone else still waiting for theirs? I received an update on eBay on the 2nd with the Dell tracking code but havent received a StarTrack tracking code and haven’t heard since from them since.

    • Use the different tracking link provided in the previous pages. That’s more useful than ebay or dell’s esp if you don’t have the startrack link yet.

    • Still waiting on mine - did message Dell though to get the correct order details since the order number and tracking number were for a different person (and I could see their name and address).
