            • @ATangk: Dell, can we? Haha

      • thank you

can i swap my order of the S2721QS with the non s?

since im using a monitor arm i dont need the S version

its the more popular version anyway so someone else can take it who needs it

    • Where does it say that?

      Dell website shows below

      VESA Mounting Interface
      100 x 100 mm

    • Have a look at the image:

      https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/25097/84659/s2721q.jpg

For S2721Q, you need to press the dimple on the VESA cover to release it from the back of the display as indicated on page 38 on the manual.

That said, some people did indicate the mounting holes are further inward than most PC monitors with VESA mounting holes.

      • Also the S2721Q ships with the cover plate removed :).

    • +2

I used a NBH80 monitor arm with the S2721Q and did not need an adapter.

      • Good to know, thanks.

  • +2

Hi, is the S2721QS over-clockable? has anyone tried ?

    • was gonna ask the same…

    • I'm unsure, however, Dell recommends to never put your monitor in your microwave.. Provided your microwave is big enough ofc. :)

  • It looks like the code doesn't work anymore :(

    • +1

      Still works for me.

    • +1

      Works for me right now

    • Tried the other monitor, tried logging out/in, clearing browser cache etc. Nothing worked. It's out of stock now and I probably saved myself cash not buying a monitor I'm not sure where I'm going to fit.

      • +2

Was your account originally registered as an overseas account? US/UK or such, that often causes issues with codes that are AU specific, you'll probable have the same issue with all codes on Ebay Aus… I believe Ebay support can set your account as an Aussie account if you contact them…

or, log out and then checkout as a guest…

        • Yes, I registered my Ebay account when I lived in the UK. That explains why past codes have not worked. Thanks for the tip, FlickIt !!!

      • The Q is still available. Try use eBay mobile.

  • +1

Managed to get one :) Thanks.

  • I bought S2721QS and plan to connect it to a laptop. Does anyone know if it is possible to connect the monitor to a laptop via a HDMI to USB C cable or display Port to USB C cable? The reason I'd like to be connected using a USB C is because of how easy it is to plug and unplug.

The laptop has a HDMI Port and USB C Port, but has no Display Port. However, the specs list the following capabilities: 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (5 Gb/s signaling rate, Power Delivery 3.0, DisplayPort™ 1.2, HP Sleep and Charge); 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (HP Sleep and Charge); 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only); 1 AC smart pin; 1 HDMI 2.0; 1 headphone/microphone combo

    • +1

I have my monitor hooked up to my laptop as well. Laptop has USB c. I have a USB c to DP adapter. Then a dp cable running from adapter to monitor. Works perfectly fine, outputs at 4k, no issues. Here's what I bought :

      Plugable USB C to DisplayPort… https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B087V7BDYW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_s…

      iVANKY DisplayPort Cable 2M DP… https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07T4NGKHH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_s…

      • Awesome and thanks. Is there a difference between a USB C to Display Port cable vs USB C to Display Port adapter?

because now it seem there are three ways what I want can be achieved:

1: USB C to Display Port adapter to Display Port cable

2: USB C to Display Port cable

        3: USB C Hub

Which of these methods do you recommend?

        Edit:

I see USB Hubs with the ports I need are really expensive, haha.

        • Option 2 requires DP alt mode on the laptop. I struggled to confirm if my laptop could do this. So I decided not to risk it. If your pc has it, I'd go the single cable.

I also found that a reasonable quality adapter and dp cable was cheaper than a single good quality USB c to DP cable. But I didn't do heaps of research.

I'd steer clear of option 3 unless you need more ports.

          • @ifreddo: Alright. I was only considering usb hub because I don't want to lose the one usb c port to to the monitor. It wouldn't be a problem if I had two usb c ports. They don't seem reliable unless you buy the really expensive ones, so I will steer away.

Could Display Port alt mode support be what they meant when they added DisplayPort™ 1.2 in the specs sheets? I will ontact HP online support to find out. Cheers.

            • @Misogi Kumagawa: Could be! I'm not sure. Let me know if you find out.

              • @ifreddo: Hp confirmed I need an adapter and they recommended their pricy docking station. This had me thinking about how finicky adapters and USB hubs are. How did you know the adapter you bought supported your laptop?

                • @Misogi Kumagawa: Ah ok. My laptop was listed in the Amazon product description for the adapter. That's all I really went by.

        • This may also be an option if you need power via usb-c and don't want to lose the single usb-c port to just the monitor. I haven't tried this particular product though… https://www.amazon.com.au/Cable-Matters-Multiport-DisplayPor…

          • @titus: I've replaced the usb A cable on my hard drives to use C cables, so what I wanted was a USB C Hub that would allow me to connect both a monitor and a hard drive, but I think I'm asking too much haha.

    • +1

My wife's setup is exactly that. Her laptop only supports HDMI 1.4 so I got a USB-C to DP adapter with pass through and connected the monitor with a DP cable to it. Chugs along perfectly fine at 4k 60Hz.

  • +1

Finally got this deal. Hope my Lenovo thinkpad T470 would be able to use it!

  • +1

Haha @ LiMaaa thx for the post, finally upgraded from 1k to 4k monitor and 24 - 27 inches, and sell the old sell 24 inches one. Merry Christmas to all the OZ Bargainers @all

    • Good upgrade. #excited

  • Is there a USB-C variant of these (or similar) monitors?

  • +8

QS is out of stock. Does anyone else watch the availability of these bargains slowly decrease over a few hours and then have remorse when they run out even though they probably were not going to buy one anyway?

    • Yeah it’s me now lol. Feel like I should just buy one so I can stop looking even though I don’t need it.

      • +1

But then you'll buy the Q and have remorse that you didn't pay the $30 more when the QS was still in stock as the stand was so much better.

        • Yeah I don’t need the stand because I already have a good monitor stand though. I’m not interested in any of the height adjustable models

          • +2

@Red-jane: Same, I prefer use monitor arm to save more desk space. And you can get a good monitor arm for 30 dollars on Black Friday. So I select the Q, but yea dell make some good height adjustable stand if you are not intend to use monitor arm.

    • +1

Yeah - it has worn on me and now I have dipped my toes in.

  • How do people get those 60 off 120 spend coupons?

    • They are provided about 20 days after purchase through Dell website.

  • Hi @LiMaaa,

I purchased this monitor at a higher price in the October deal. Delivery estimate went from 15 days to 30 to 75 - my current estimated date, confirmed twice by customer support, is a full week later than what you're now promising people.

Should I refund my old order and place a new one?

    Thanks,
    HP

    • Wow, that eta must not be on my deals? Sorry I know this was late but as long as the order hasn't shipped, you may cancel and buy on new deal.

      • My ETA wasn't reflected by your website either, last I checked, though it could have caught up since. Customer support can't explain why.

Moreover, I'm disappointed that Dell is seemingly supplying new customers before old.

        • Well I don't think they are. Everyone who orders goes in a queue and receives their product in the order they purchased it. The only difference being for my deals we secure seperate batches a lot earlier and provide more prudent shipping times.

          • @LiMaaa: How is that not "supplying new customers before old"?

            • +2

@HappyPenguin: Let me just clarify, I don't work for Dell!

Let's say hypothetically I get all this Dec 20th shipment out. Done and dusted.

I place an order on Dec 21st for 1000 units of a product. I wait for 30 days until production is complete. I get notified 20th Jan units are being shipped (may take 2 weeks to arrive in au). I put up a deal on 21st Jan with 1000 units, latest ETA by 1st week of Feb.

And someone else like you who ordered mid Jan is like, "how come I have to wait until end of Feb and these guys get it sooner". If you want to call it supplying new customers before old, I mean you can, I just don't see it that way.

There are always flash sales and promotions where stock is secured for that deal and abide by different shipping eta's vs general purchasing. It may seem like stock is being prioritized for that deal > general customers, but really it's just some advanced planning by those organising the deals.

  • +1

QS out of stock. Oh well. Missed out. Was lingering whether to get it or not.

    • +4

      Rule#1 buy first, think later.

      • +4

Ozbargain has made me broke! ;)

        • +1

We all are in the same boat.
Sometimes I think is Ozbargain is to save money or to spend extra $$$ on things you don't even need 😁

      • +1

That's what I did when I got the last QS this morning! I've been missing out on monitor deals since the start of lockdown but have now embraced Rule#1.

    • Get the Q and use it with the AOC H271 stand that fixes to the VESA mount

      • The AOC H271 stand goes for $50 AUD, hilariously it's better to buy the QS version with the adjustable stand, only an extra $30 with this current deal (that's currently out of stock)

        Saves more money… lol

        • The QS sold out well before the Q, hence the recommendation of a Q plus the H271… Still cheaper than what I paid for the QS on a previous deal

  • +3

So glad I missed the previous deal. Got the QS this time. For $80 more its 4k with a much much better stand.

  • +1

Fantastic deal, too bad our old Intel integrated graphics can't run 4K greater than 24Hz. Holding out for a S2721D deal hopefully earlyish next year!

    • I was similarly gutted to find my SP3 can only run 4k at 30Hz

      • Rip. Weak old Intel's :(
Did you find out and then didn't buy the monitor?

        • +1

The 2721QS runs on my wife's laptop which can support 4k60…i was considering another one for my SP3 but the 4k30 support means it's jankfest when scrolling… So the idea was canned

  • Like many others here, I had purchased the S2721Q in mid-Oct for about $330-ish - but only received the monitor yesterday!

So now of course, I'm wondering if there's any way I can still take advantage of this price here for the $60-ish saving.

If I had received the monitor in a timely manner back in Oct, then the pain wouldn't be so severe - electronics always go down in price. But fact is, it just arrived yesterday and I haven't even opened it!

Rep or others - any suggestions on what I could do here, if anything is possible?

    TIA for any help.

    • +1

For dell monitor you can return if you change your mind within 15 days of receiving the item. Just call dell customer care

      • Thanks for this suggestion.

I looked up Dell's return policy, but there's no mention of whether return shipping is covered. Also, there's mention of a possible restocking fee of 15% (it says "Dell may charge a restocking fee").

Those are the only 2 things holding me back from placing another order via this deal.

If I can be confident that I can get a full refund on my Oct purchase, then I'm more than happy to wait another month.

Problem is - I can't contact Dell Customer Care until Monday as they're closed for the weekend. Damn. Do I take the gamble?

    • +5

I think you can still return it for refund if still unopened. LiMaaa said it’s an option and just a bit of a process. Then buy the Q again and wait again for the delivery. You’ll get the $60 but will that hassle be worth it?

      • +4

"$60 but will that hassle be worth it?"

Please hand in your ozbargain card. That $60 saving will buy you one of the several gaming mouse deals currently on here.

    • +2

electronics always go down in price

say you end up returning it to dell this time and purchase again using this deal to save $60ish. even this deal has a delivery timeline of over a month. what are you gonna do if this one arrives on the day when another deal comes up with more savings?

or say you open the monitor you got now, then wouldnt it be like renting one for a month for $60? which may be expensive for the price and lifetime of the monitor but something to consider while waiting for it to arrive again.

I think I am happy with my purchase of S2721QS (x2) monitors for general desktop multimedia usage purposes.

I was thinking about buying the larger monitor S3221QS for a larger screen, but after reading about the general performance of VA vs IPSmonitors. I prefer a IPS monitor. The only area which VA monitors outperforms IPS is in Contrast and Black uniformity. Below is links that describe the Pros/Cons of TN/IPS/VA monitors.

This is a list of other monitors reviewed by rtings.com

    • Good info, normally I include rtings reviews in OP, but I'm waiting for their Q reviews to drop.

  • Hi, is the S2721QS over-clockable? has anyone tried ?

    • I asked the same thing, I couldn't find anything online about it.

  • +2

Surprised there's still 68 units of the Q still in stock.

    • +2

1100 units sold and not oos. Perhaps they found a few more out back haha.

      • 1101 now! & still more than 10 available apparently; guess they found more stock hiding out the back.

        • +2

Or and bear with me here.. Dell has a duplicating machine and is duplicating the last unit continuously?

          • +1

@LiMaaa: Yes I saw it was 64 units before this sale started yesterday.

            • +1

              @longcar: Okay that makes sense.

Edit: wow you're right, only 11 left now. Your math and memory is on point.

  • im trying to cancel my order of the QS model. if they refuse to cancel it. happy to sell it to someone local who wants it

    • Why do you want to cancel the order? lmao

      • +2

Didn't get the approval from the boss (wife) before hand.

        • +1

          rookie mistake!

      • 1) impulse buy (i already ahve 6 monitors)
        2) i dont need the s model since i have monitor arms
        3) want the rumoured gaming monitor instread next week

my refund went through so maybe some stock will get released

  • Anyone who bought Dell S2721D and wants this monitor instead and live in Brisbane, I can buy Dell S2721D off you if you want. Miss that deal unfortunately,

  • I have dell xps 15 9560. Does anyone recommend good brand cable for usb-c to display port instead of adapter?
I am not sure the benefit of adapter if you can connect directly
    Thanks :)

    • Apparently you need an adapter if your laptop does not support display port alt mode. I feel like my laptop supports it as there is a mention of display port in specs even though my laptop does not have the port. I've asked HP if my laptop supports alt mode I'm still waiting for their reply.

      • Um… I don't think that's what he was asking. If the laptop doesn't support USB-C alt-mode, he can forget about getting USB-C going with this monitor at 4K 60Hz HDR.

    • It comes down to cost. The adapter form tends to be a bit cheaper. If you can get USB-C to display port cable that works with 4K 60Hz HDR and the price is good enough for you, go ahead.

Question is, did Dell actually wire nVidia GPU to the Thunderbolt 3 port(s) or just the HDMI?

  • Thanks so much for the post! Is there going to be a similar post about the S2721DGF when that comes out on Black Friday?
I would love to know certain times of releases around Black Friday!
    Thanks

    • +2

27th around same time. I'll make a post like 5 hours before it goes live. Subscribe to me on my ozb profile so you can be notified when I post a deal.

      • From your comments, it looks like S2721DGF and the ultrawide are going on sale the same day. Hopefully you will reveal the price and model of the ultrawide before S2721DGF goes on sale so that we can make a decision on which one to buy :)

        • +1

They will be on the same deal, I will release details when I make post about 5 hours before it goes live on the 27th. Hopefully that gives you guys enough research time.

          • @LiMaaa: Yup. Thanks!

          • @LiMaaa: Do you know if it will be at the same time 6pm AEST that the deal goes live? I work Friday night and won't be home until like an hour after 6pm and I have no access to a PC at work, but I've been wanting this monitor for a while now and I don't want to miss this best opportunity :(
