Will run in dual rank but depending how you configure it will be dual channel or single channel. Make sure you read the manual to configure for dual channel.
Oh! What do you mean by configure it?
Put the sticks in the right motherboard slots
@iMagoo: That's for dual channel not dual rank…2 different terms
Unsure how to tell if mem is single or dual rank….
@soulzsium: I understand, the question was how to configure dual channel…
@soulzsium: Anything that isnt crucial, 8gb per rank. These are 16Gb Dimms so its dual rank.
@soulzsium: to put it simply:
one stick is one rank
two stick is two ranks
100 stick is 100 ranks
if you mean dual channel, yes they will run in dual channel. You have to pout them in the correct slots as per the motherboard manual, and as long as your motherboard supports it.
Nah not dual channel, dual rank. Dual ranking happens when you put 4 rams into your motherboard, and in the new Ryzen 5000s that will increase the performance 5-10 frames in the games that depend on the CPU performance. Some dual 16GB RAMs may also run as a dual rank, but not sure which ones tho.
Before some PP! become SMART! and put (-) there, go google or youtube and understand that there is Dual Rank and it is activated then you put 4x4 RAMs. Check the video and LEARN!:

LOL !!!
@max-pc1010: its NOT a 4x4 thing, some sticks have two chips on them, one on either side the ram stick
I think you have your terminology wrong.
I am not sure how to accurately describe it, but feel free to correct or expand if im wrong.
Channel is the memory bus running to the cpu.
A DIMM is a stick of ram.
Rank is a group of memory chips on the ram, usually forming a 64bit wide bus nowadays. A general rule of thumb is if the DIMM has memory chips on one side, it is single rank, on both sides, it is dual rank. This is not always the case.
I havent looked too deeply into it yet but for zen 3, but my understanding is it benefits from more ranks possibly due to interleaving etc.
Basically fill all the available DIMM slots, or buy 4 sticks.@wwwsam: Or buy 2x16gb sticks, which will almost always be dual rank (giving you the interleaving benefits).
Rank is a property of the RAM modules and the way in which they offer interfaces to the banks of memory for allocation.
Channels are a property of the motherboard/chipset and the way in which data is transferred to the RAM. In order to configure dual channel, you must put your sticks in the slots specified in your motherboard user manual.
CAS Latency 18-22-22-42 :(
my Crucial Ballistix RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MT/s runs at 16-18-18-38 Paid $223 on amazon prime day :) They may pop up again at that price for black Friday sale
Did you get a dual rank or single rank kit?
I bought a red kit of 2x16GB and it was single rank (model number ended in M8FB1), so I ended up returning them).
I'm searching for single rank 16Gb modules, but not sure how to tell. Where did you get them from?

Apparently these used to only be dual rank Micron E die denoted by M16FE1 after the model number.
Now it's a lottery. You could get Dual Rank Micron E-die or single rank Micron B-die which have M8FB1 after the model number instead.
@[Deactivated]: Can confirm new batch are B-die and they won't even run on my system at XMP without completely crashing my system. They were on the QVL list but that is for the DS version not SS.
@Austrian Oak: Problem is when buying online Amazon may have old stock, newegg I’m not sure. Never know for certain.
@ATangk: My manufacture date is July 20-24 and these seem to be problematic. Bad batch maybe? I'm now running at 3200 CL14 stable.
I will probably buy a 64gb kit if they go on sale and sell these, or maybe get in touch with crucial and get them to send me a new batch. (I purchased them on QVL list so i expect them to work as advertised) It's been a nightmare my new build because of this, random shutdowns, keyboard/usb errors all due to ram.
I even posted this link to others experiencing problems with these B die kits

@[Deactivated]: I don’t want a lottery though, that’s the problem. Most of these are shipped from overseas so maybe I’ll just have to bite and get PayPal refunded shipping if it’s no good… either way I have 32Gb now until I find it’s not enough.
Wouldn't mind going from 16GB to 32 GB but currently running 3800Mhz C18 1:1 with 1900 IF so imagine going down to 3600 would be a performance hit.
Apparently not a big performance hit in real world scenarios.. if gaming. Maybe if you were serious about benching?
Just got my 5600x and only going as high as 3600 C16.
CL16 3600 is probably faster than CL18 3800
Not faster but probably similar performance, but this is CL18 3600 so definitely not faster.
I thought I was replying to a diff thread talking about C16 3600. Oops.
Good price, but I will still wait for a deal on the C16
how much faster than CL16 3200mhz is this?
how much slower than CL16 3600 is this?
Trident Z has got to be the most fresh cut looking ram on the market. its so damn clean.
great deal. free shipping too (i ordered 2 units ).
free shipping? how? Oh you got 64GB?
Will these two going to run dual rank with Ryzen 5000s or do I need another two?
