Seems like a good buy, but I'm no expert.
The website has all the model numbers, but here are some sample prices:
32" HD LED LCD TV $299
32" FULL HD LED LCD TV $399
42" FULL HD LED LCD TV $499
32" FULL HD LCD TV $329
40" FULL HD LCD TV $399
4 days only

Can anyone advise why LED LCD is better than just LCD as I'm interested to know.

  • LED use less power. They also have better contrast i.e. blacks

      Great, thanks for that.

LED is also LCD, the difference is in the backlight. Traditional LCD panels use a fluorescent tube as a backlight. LED used LED's as the backlight.
There are 2 styles of LED backlighting too!
Edge lit-LED panels are very skinny, but tend to have a little backlight bleed around the screen edges.
Backlit LED panels can dim certain portions of the backlight to enhance black levels in dark areas of screen.

      • Yes LED uses less power, but the trade off is not as good colour reproduction (by about 10%) and the backlight flickers.

I can confirm that you can also use the PAYPAL code for free shipping

  • OR No paypal. Delivery is only $6.49 (from the ones I tried) to Sydney Metro

  • Im in the market for a new TV, and those LED are cheap, but the borders are too huge for my liking.

For those interested in the 42", it is 45mm thick and USB Formats supported include XviD, H.264 and MKV-packaged

  • Is this the same model (the one for $299) that Myer had on sale for $299 as well?

    • Tv is only 50Hz

      • I think both were 50 weren't they?

    • Nah - the Myer one was a full HD LCD - similar to the $329 TV in this deal

    • Different Model.
      Myer= 32CV700A
      BL= 32LV800A
      I'm assuming 800 is newer.

  • I need a suggestion for these two model below:
    BL: Toshiba - 32EL800A - 32" LED Backlit TV $299
DS: Sanyo 32" High Definition LCD TV LCD32XR11 $298

Main different is LED and LCD but which one do you guys prefer?
    Cheers.

I would go the Toshiba. Its considerably thinner and has a 6 star energy rating (Sanyo has 3)

      • Toshiba also has a 2-year warranty. (Sanyo only 1yr)

The thickness of an LED compared to LCD is about 1/4 and weight about 1/3 of an LCD (comparing Soniq LCD and Hisense LED from JB). I alone can carry a 42" LED around the house but not the LCD one!!
LED produced clearer and brighter pictures and required less power to operate thus it is cheaper to run and better picture quality overall.

      • However for Toshiba. the 32" are all about the same weight. (ie those on the bing lee special)

  • What about the 2 42" ers from BigW at the moment?

    AWA

    Hitachi

EDIT: Ahh sorry, they're only LCD, not LED.

  • 32"tv $299 ? Are that size LCD monitors getting cheaper as well?
