Long time lurker first time poster.

Was looking over previous deal posted for the OnePlus 8 Pro here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/574440 and noticed the Nord at a pretty low price compared to what ive seen.
Not sure if this specific model number also is the Chinese model as in the above OP 8 pro post, meaning no band 28.

Please note from TobyDeals who ship from HK as noted in previous post.

REALME X3 SuperZoom 8GB/28GB, Glacier Blue is now on sale at Amazon for 557, it has better gaming performance and better cameras, but it has an IPS LCD screen. Which I think is also a very good price.

  • Does this have NFC?

2-3 months ago I ordered a Samsung s10 Lite from Toby Deals, after waiting for 8 weeks, and still in "processing" I cancelled the order and got a refund. Just something to be aware of, you can wait a long time on some of their orders even though they are marked "in stock".

      That is really annoying.

    • +1

That sucks, I've personally had very good experience buying from them. Spent over a grand on camera stuff and received it all a week later. Cost half the amount compared to buying on Amazon. But I guess it's all quite hit and miss with them…

      • Yeah for sure, I have purchased 2 things from them myself, first one came in about a week. This one unfortuntely didn't, which is a shame I really wanted that phone and it was a great price (which is why I waited so long before cancelling).

        • I reckon the seller may not have the product in stock and once there is an order then they will purchase it from other sellers locally (HK). If they cannot purchase it from others or cannot get it at a low price (no profit), then they will not be able to send it to you and that is why it was always shown as "processing" for 8 weeks. Once you cancel the order, they would be very happy to give you refund.

    • the POCO x3 NFC i ordered on the 4th Oct just confirmed to be shipping today.

I must be bloody lucky according to your stories. So I will sure as hell never buy from Toby again and wait for these amazon drops.

$38 more will get you the 12gb/256gb version, best value for money upgrade ever

  • Will the dual sim all work okay? Thanks

Good price but it is AC2001 (India model) so no band 28.

Be aware a lot of sellers claim to sell "Global model" but there are only two variants of OnePlus Nord which are either AC2001 (India model) or AC2003 (Europe model).

    • Good site to check with. thanks for the link.

Got to give toby a bit of credit here. At least they say in the title which nord phones are AC2001.

      • I have found Toby to be pretty honest actually. Bought 3 phones through them over the last 18 months and cannot fault their service. The always have it listed as a part of the description if "The item is a global version or not".

I've just been burnt by this in the last hour.
Bought 'global model' from Kogan but received the AC2001 from India. Now it's time to test the customer service.

  • So which model of the Nord is best suited to Australia?

    • +2

AC2003, not the one in this offer

    • Any phone that's not officially sold in Australia won't have VoLTE/VoWiFi. Phone manufactures have to work with local providers to enable these network features.

      • VoLTE has been in India since 2016/17, most if not all phones sold in India have VoLTE feature.

      • My hongkong Snapdragon Samsung S10 plus and Note 20 ultra disagree with you. Both got VoLTE and VoWiFi on Telstra

        • Samsung phones are officially sold in Australia and they support VoLTE/VoWiFi regardless of the their origin. I'm currently using an imported Note 20 Ultra with Telstra and have VoLTE too :)
OnePlus on the other hand is not officially sold here and don't get these features due to lack of carrier support. Same with newer Sony Xperia phones.
It's possible to enable VoLTE on OnePlus phones with XDA mods though. I did this on my 7T Pro and it's working perfectly fine:)

@fastnet: Good to know that even overseas bought Samsungs will support VOLTE here in Australia. Just recently got a Poco F2 Pro and cannot get VOLTE working on it. Went from a Nokia to Poco, may be will try and get a Samsung next. Cheers for the heads up.

          • @fastnet: Where did you import your note 20 ultra from :D ? I want to do the same

    • I enabled it on my OnePlus 6, and I suspect the instructions are very similar for the Nord.

And enable *#801# with instructions here:

  • Is 6.44" big enough though?
