    The phone came out in 2022. Motorola E14 sounds like a better choice, similar specs and price but it came out in 2024 so it should receive OS/security updates longer.

    • so basically no more updates.

    • I've been using an e14 as a second phone for about 6 months. It's a pretty good experience for a (very) cheap handset tbh

    E
    Waste

    Less than 5 months of updates left and a weak T606 processor.

    Avoid

      What about the Optus X Pro 5G (ZTE Blade A73 5G)… $149 at Optus & Big W.

      You can usually unlock these for free if you're with Optus or Amaysim. I did a comparison on GSM Arena.

        Much better

          Much better hardware on a POCO for the same price.

          Can't understand why people here keep insisting on failed western brands… 🙄

            @wisdomtooth: Agree but will be blocked by telco though

              @spy: Mine (M5s) isn't.

              • @wisdomtooth: Which network is it working on? Optus and their MVNOs are the problem.

                • +1

                  @shaybisc: Telstra atm. I haven't tested the others tbh. If they won't work, I'll be in dire straits, bc I just bought a few Optus and Vodafone SIMs!

          • @wisdomtooth: Because the software sucks on pure Chinese.

            • @gakko: Mine (M5s) is a global edition (miui global 14.0.17).

          • +1

            @wisdomtooth: I won't buy POCO again.
            They ignored our requests for help.
            Why would anyone buy products from a manufacturer that refused to assist?

            Nb. This is only a 4G phone, will this phone continue to work in Australia?

      • I have an optus x pro 4g that I got for a dollar from amaysim, and it's actually pretty decent experience all round except for the camera, which is total pants, and really let's down the phone. Forget about taking a photo of anything moving event slightly, and gcam is not supported by the hardware it seems so don't know how it could be improved.

    This was never a $279, barely usable

    I had this phone. Do NOT recommend. Upgraded as soon as I could.

    One thing needed to be mentioned is Nokia Mobile is totally DEAD now. Though the phone is a simple model and u may not met a warranty issue.

    • Nokia Mobile is totally DEAD now

      You mean the original Finnish Nokia, or the Chinese Nokia?

    Miss that rear fingerprint sensor:(

    • +2

      Agreed, I prefer it in the rear too.
