    Unisoc T606
    4GB ram…

    Will be sluggish

    • Wonder if people could install and use gcam mod app with this processor … But it doesn't matter for me as I have OnePlus phone with snapdragon processor + Moto G54 as backup ;-)

Moto G54 is definitely better than this.

      • I have OnePlus phone with snapdragon processor

So do I. Until I have to throw it in the rubbish bin next week when 3G shuts down. Thanks a lot OnePlus. I guess they think if they don't provide any assistance to software upgrade their phones to what the Snapdragon chipset can do, we'll all rush out and buy another one. Sure will. Will have to. But it won't be another OnePlus.

        • Have you checked your imei through AMTA website whether your phone will still work after 3G shutdown?

My OnePlus Nord CE3 Lite 5G has passed this. I checked both imei, no problem. VoLTE shows on my phone for both numbers (dual sim).

If Telstra and Optus network block your phone, try Vodafone network.

          • @neoleo:

Have you checked your imei through AMTA website

No, but now I do check there I get the same answer as SMSing the number Telstra provides.

A lovely phone. With a terrific 48 megapixel camera, and a powerful capable chipset, becomes as useful as a brick for making phone calls next week. You'd think OnePlus would have the commercial nous to offer, for a fee, to do the necessary software update. It'd make people more likely to buy OnePlus again. But, no. And if not them, someone else.

The phone is 2+ years old, less than a year of updates left.

Spend a bit more and get a G54 to get a phone that will handle basic tasks.

OP you might want to edit the description as it misleading.

Assuming Nokia/HMD even follow through with their promised updates. They’ve been slow or even remiss with some of their phones

      • HMD do not make Nokia phones anymore.

        • +1

what do you mean by that?
they NEVER manufactured them as far as I know.

    $129 at Dick Smith.
    $125 as a member.

  • Will this work when 3G is shut off 28th October?

    • It should work, otherwise get refund from the store. To make sure, check the imei on the phone box in the AMTA website if you buy instore.

Entered my G11 Plus IMEI from the phone box on the AMTA website and:
HMD Global Nokia G11 Plus. OK – you don’t need to do anything. Your device will work normally after the 3G closure.

  • I bought one of these basically to use as an emergency spare with a backup sim if I lose my main phone
my previous emergency spare is 3g hence the need for change

despite 20+ attempts, before and after a full reset, it will not update the security patch beyond October 2023
I can see from the HMD website that there have been security patches monthly including October 2024, and even Android 14 was made available a few months ago

has anyone in Australia got theres to update to a newer version that October 2023?
HMD global support told me to take it to JB Hifi and get them to update it…
