Seems good deal compared to previous version
in the new version you get 7200dpi, 1000hz via included software
imo for gaming most people have no use for high dpi - unless you're a ultra low sensitivity fps player. high polling rate is a must on the other hand for fast response and more tracking granularity, you can find details on how to manually overclock your mouse in the link to the last post above, i have 2 old mice that do 500hz and its a drastic improvement over the default 125hz.
