from a distance it looks like a mini tv with soundbar

    93% full metal back cover
It's either full or it isn't lol

    • +9

They haven’t yet figured out how to make camera lenses out of metal. Also putting the wifi antennas behind metal isn’t great for reception either.

Maccas chicken nuggets, made with 100% Australian chicken,

plus 100% Australian made filler material

      • +1

Some guy in America chipped a tooth on a bone inside a McNugget.

      • not saying what parts of the chicken

        • +1

          penis bone.

I await the downvotes with glee.

Looks about on par with Tab 4 10 Plus released a couple of years ago.

This one has less RAM, I can't see a fingerprint reader on it, and it doesn't mention Fast Charging / Quick Charge anywhere on the page or in comparison websites.

It does come with Android 9.0 though!

    • is tab 4 another lenovo?
i need a cheap android for media consumption and kids gaming

so just after decent speakers, screen and processor. other trims dont matter

      • +1

Yes, Tab 4 is a Lenovo product (I'm not sure anywhere sells it anymore). I'm just letting people know incase they saw it and thought this was a direct upgrade.

This looks cheap enough for a kids media tablet, RAM might be a bit low for them though. It looks like only Amazon have this exact model, because nothing comes up when I try to find it via Google. But the other models of it do, which are ~$360 from JB / Good Guys / Officeworks

        • The one at Jb,TGG etc is 4gb Ram.

  • dock idea is interesting if using for things like a smart doorbell, while still using as tablet - compared to google where tablet part attached to speaker.

  • Eh this looks like a special version of the 2nd gen. Amazon exclusive?

    • …..plus US$30-ish shipping

  • +4

    This is US/India spec.
AU spec got 4GB ram and 64GB storage compare to this one.
Lenovo edu store have AU spec one for $249 delivered but currently out of stock.

    • Where are you seeing the Full HD Plus variant for $249?

      • +3

It's $229 delivered on the Edu store for the 4GB RAM / 64GB eMMC variant but yeah it is out of stock.

Lenovo edu store have AU spec one for $249 delivered but currently out of stock.

    Damn didn't know this. That's a bargain.

Oh do note this tablet doesn't do full HD in the Netflix app.

    • +1

Back in stock on the EDU store.
(I bought the Yoga Smart Tab last night for $289 instead, thinking this was going to stay out of stock for awhile.)

  • Don’t forget cash back it’s around $20

  • +2

Hehe that’s cute, Dolby Atmos and dual 3w speakers in the same sentence

    • Maybe works great in a doll house

    • Dolby atmos…. for ants.

  • +2

Not great, for reference almost a year ago I bought the US version from Amazon for AUD 274 delivered (inlcluded shipping the GST etc) for the 4GB / 64GB model. Very happy with it, sits mainly bedside. Only grip is I wish Alexa was swappable for Google asisstant on the speaker dock.

  • +2

There's a new generation coming out (I think it's already available in the U.S.) that has Google Assistant instead of Alexa.

  • I bought one.
Time to retire/sell the old iPad Air.

Edit: Cancelled order. Didn't realise it was the 32Gb/2Gb version. Will wait until sometime better I think.

  • +3

It has 2gb of ram? It's going to be slow people.

  • Was looking for tablets for kids, bought one . Thanks
