How can I get a $200 code? Is it too late now?

Looks we missed the boat but JB has free base storage upgrade.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/887874

Personally, I'm a bit meh on galaxy devices these days. Cameras and batteries on Chinese android devices are a lot better but need to import and they're pricey.

        • Yeah particularly with those new Silicon-Carbon batteries right? wouldn't have thought there cameras were too far behind though. Guess I need to refamiliarize myself with the whole smartphone scene.

          • @TsundereGuy: Yeah, the silicon carbon batteries. Around 6000mah vs 5000mah in the s25 ultra. I'm looking at the vivo x200 pro and the telephoto looks insane. It does really good telemacro photos.

Realistically, any new flagship phone will be way better than phone from a few years ago.

    • Did we miss the boat on this?

  • Can the $200 jb hifi pre order discount be used with this deal to bring the cost to $336?

YES IVE UPDATED THE DEAL. Such a gooood deal :)))

Where can I sign up the pre order discount?

So final total is $1336 ($536 + $800). Thanks OP.

Not if you're cancelling the plan, which is $800 ontop, right?

        • Coupon doesnt work for me when trying to preorder online.

          Anyone had the same issue?

          • @mikey43: You have to port in your number. In store only

            • @CodeXD: Not when trying to pre order phone online outright. Coupon didnt work

              • +2

@mikey43: You might need to ask on chat or in person. AFAIK the "code" everyone keeps talking about is GALAXY2025 from Samsung and won't work on JB website

show them the $200 preorder code they should give you the further discount

@mikey43: Ah I see. Then it'll just be JB system not updated to accept the code. All you can do now is wait it out.

      • How will you use samsung code with Jb Hi-Fi? Just curious as I have the code too and this seems a really good deal.
        Edit: Got it!

        • How did you get the code?

          • @U30004: No one wants to say, wasn't there a deal or email?

            • @G-rig: Someone else literally said it above your comment

Ive got a $200 coupon from JB for pre registering.

              • -1

@CodeXD: So why do people keep asking. It's on their website too.

@G-rig: Sir this is a JB HiFi deal

                  • @CodeXD: Yes, so if people didn't sign up they can't get it now.

Everyone is getting confused and mentioning the Samsung codev

: You might need to ask on chat or in person. AFAIK the "code" everyone keeps talking about is GALAXY2025 from Samsung and won't work on JB website

Ps. Just testing the trade in value is $740 for S24U with Samsung.

                    • @G-rig: There was a lot of confusion about what the code is this morning. That was my comment and what triggered someone to reply saying $200 coupon is from JB for pre registering.

People are commenting asking for the code from those who did sign up

                      • @CodeXD: yeah no worries, people get in a frenzy with these deals and there are parallel samsung and edu deals going too.

Wouldn't have hurt to pre-register with JB but too late now. Not expecting to upgrade yet but always worth considering depending how sharp the deal/hacks are.

Just checked on Monster mobile and S24U 256GB ('as new' condition) = AU$950. Hmm not bad.

Edit: JB trade in value - $785. Not sure why you would bother.

It certainly seems that way, from the site :

The $1700 off the purchase price of a Samsung Galaxy Ultra phone(referred to as the “JB Hi-Fi Voucher” in the Telstra Terms and Conditions…

      • +3

Right? Straight off the JB site. Seems pretty risky

The $1700 off the purchase price of a Samsung Galaxy Ultra phone(referred to as the "JB Hi-Fi Voucher" in the Telstra Terms and Conditions and replacing the dollar value of the Voucher in the Critical Information Summary) will be applied to the purchase price of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra phone and available to you instore after connection approval by Telstra. If you cancel or move to a lower cost/different plan then you must pay a Voucher Repayment Fee to Telstra pro-rated against the remaining months of your plan's minimum term.

        • Wow this has started again already, the release crept up quickly only just got the S24U in Sept.
I don't feel a need to upgrade straight away but the pre-order deals are the best. The curved corners would make the phone much nicer to use and carry around.

Still a lot of changeover for essentially the same phone, used to be $300 to upgrade pixels at the right time.
The new One UI 7 will make more difference than the hardware (One UI 7 Beta doesn't seem available yet).

Same as every other deal, wait and see if someone posts the CIS (previously always caps out at $800) despite what they say. The mobile plans link to CIS isn't working. If the cancellation is $1700 it isn't worth it.

          • Too late to get the $200 preorder (assumed it was if ordering direct from Samsung as I saw an email about it previously).
          • Anyone know the trade in value for S24U, what are they worth second hand?
          • Is the S-pen no longer Bluetooth?
    • +1

Curious to know as well. Does anybody know if this is same terms as previous deal where max $800 is payable?

      • +2

Nope, JB seems to have updated the policy. The payable seems to be $1,700 for cancellation.

        • Telstra website still says 800 on CIS. Guess Jb just changed theirs

          • @Xwahash: When cancelling your deal with JB mobile, so their policy applies over telstras

            • @niggardly: So key would be to cancel with telstra, right?

              • @Xwahash: Can you do that? JB managers your contract cos signed through them

                • +1

@niggardly: Yes you can cancel with Telstra. All JB does is sign up your email address and phone number onto telstra. So you'll have telstra log in and password etc to cancel directly.

    • +3

Looks the same as when I did it for the Pixel 9 pro XL preorder and had no problems. The maximum voucher repayment fee of $800 is still in the critical information summary and overrides the terms and conditions you have here.

So the calculation actually ends up a bit different than what op posted. If you have to pay for the first month you pay ((23/24) * $800) + $237 = $1003.67.

You would pay the full 800 if you manage to cancel without paying the first month. I've seen this work if you schedule a date for it to start in the future and cancel before it starts.

      • So what's the best way to do this? Set the start to Feb 23 and cancel today? Then total would be $237 + $800 = $1037?

        • I never did it myself but have a look at the pixel 9 pro XL deal for some discussion on it.

I think it somewhat depends who you get in the store. It seemed silly to me at the time that my plan started immediately even though the phone didn't come out for another week. So I think it would just be a matter of convincing the person at JB hi Fi to have it take effect later. Maybe tell them you want it to align with your current plan expiring.

Edit: oh also my calculation in my previous comment needs +$99 for the first month if that's the way you go so just over $1100 total.

  • No trade in bonus?

Has anyone got a $200 pre order bonus to see if it stacks as well?

    • It's 200 off RRP plus 200 pre-order bonus coupon so your getting 512gb for 1937. I just tested it

Sucks about the s pen nerf

      • Yep. But as it’s a mobile phone plan deal you have to do it in person. I’m sure if you show them your code they should discount it by that $200 though.

        • +1

Yeah the email says show the coupon in person in the store. It's the email with this deal so it should work fine

      • When did you get the coupon? I remember signing up for the preorder but didn't get any code. I just remember it said I would get the code as soon as the phone went on sale.

        • Got jb voucher just in the last 30 mins

  • Just waiting for bonus trade in from JB… Have a pixel 8 to get rid of

  • How do I get the 200$ voucher?

    • Did you pre register? Check your inbox

      • I see I did not pre register for it, missed that

      • i did but still no email for me

        • Same

      • I registered but didn't get any email

  • +1

If you already have a phone to trade just wait for a good Samsung trade in deal.
I have switch phones every 2 years for only $200-300 each time.

Out of topic the biggest improvements unfortunately is a new battery. They seem to degrade very quickly!
The rest doesn't evolve very quickly.

  • I guess this does not apply to numbers already with JB mobile. I really need to port out asap

    • Just get an aldi $5 sim port out, then port back in when you sign up to the deal hehe

      • Do you know if you need to be ported out for a certain time for this to work?

Currently with Telstra and looking to use one of the JB deals but I've previously seen people talk about having to be ported out for 30 days or a full billing cycle for it to work.

  • Will it affect your credit history if you cancel the plan with JB after a month or so?

    • Not if it’s your first time

    • Not sure why the downvotes on very valid question. It DOES impact credit score and that's based on my firsthand experience. Had bought S24 Ultra in Dec last year and score tanked 49 points! Raised with concern credit bureau company to check why such drastic reduction with telstra credit inquiry and response was that it's valid reduction and nothing can be done. This is with ilion and will be checking experian tomorrow and will get to know how much is the dent.

  • +1

I didn't get any promo code despite of signing up? How it reads like?

    • +1

same. maybe a 1st day backlog

  • I signed up for preorder bonus a while ago but nothing received.

  • Are there any more links that are still live regarding these voucher codes?

Is it a generic voucher or a standard voucher?

    https://ctrk.klclick1.com/l/01JGYYPG18FZ1FAZHZ8EZAKVWG_4

The above is the JBHIFI email

and the Samsung one doesn't seem to work and redirect to the home page so was curious if anyone has any live links

  • -1

Yeh I received my exclusive eVoucher $20 that I paid for. Never received the $200. Whats the title of the email?

    • +2

Samsung's Galaxy2025 is the code for $200 discount. Jb hifi one for pre-registration was a unique one came via email.

  • So the plan is to go to a JB store, sign up for the S25 ultra plan + show the Galaxy2025 code, get the phone and then a week later cancel via live chat? Any tip for the cancellation conversation?

    • +1

Nice question, really needed someone expert answer to it

    • +1

My friend contacted their support chat and complained about the lack of reception.

      • Good idea. I genuinely have no coverage when parking at local shopping center with network other than Telstra

    • +7

Hi, I would like to cancel my plan please. I'm an Ozbargain professional.

    • +1

After signing up,simply port out to another network and plan will be automatically cancelled. Alternative jump on JB Hifi App and cancel via chat

      • +1

Then you will be contacted via email/sms to pay the cancellation charge I guess?

  • This deal is for port in number only.

  • +2

Title is misleading - needs to be corrected

  • +1

Can you/anyone please let me know where it's known that the max cancellation fee is $800?

      • +1

Doesn't say $800. Says this instead:

What happens when I cancel my plan early?
You’ll need to repay Telstra for any vouchers you received when you purchased your plan. The Voucher Repayment Fee (if applicable) is pro-rated, equal to the total amount of the base voucher divided by 24 and multiplied by months (or part months) remaining in your plan term.

          • @jimojr: Except that from the JB HiFi site it says

referred to as the "JB Hi-Fi Voucher" in the Telstra Terms and Conditions and replacing the dollar value of the Voucher in the Critical Information Summary

            • @marshmall0w2: It replaces the voucher amount (which is standard as $800 in the CIS) but it doesn't replace the "Maximum voucher repayment fee" which is listed just after.

        • I believe it's under "Maximum Voucher Repayment Fee", in this case it would be under the "Premium" column.

          • @LostyJai: Does this only apply to Telstra customers with no new account? Can you create a new account?

    • New to this. (new to the country as well).
How can I actually cancel this with paying this fee ?

      • Walk into JBHifi store, sign up to plan (hope your approved), once approved they give you the 1700 gift card to use towards the preorder of the phone and you pay the remaining balance plus $99 for the first month of plan. The second you leave the store. Jump on Telstra live chat to cancel plan, if your lucky get the $99 first month refunded to. In your email they will tell you to pay the voucher repayment fee and you have until the date listed to pay the balance. That’s about it.
