Core i7-10700F | RTX 3080 Gaming PC [Asus Tuf B460 Pro WiFi/16GB/480GB/750G]: $2299 + Delivery @ TechFast

1390
10700-3080-OCT

Hi folks

Busy time! Lots of requests for an Intel deal so we have worked with Asus and Galax in obtaining October stock for these systems. Obviously the key component is the RTX 3080 and they are on schedule for October delivery.

The GPU is the Galax SG 3080, a really nice card by all reports. Same as with the Gigabyte cards for the AMD systems, this is strictly first come, first served and limited in quantity. We are working on more stock for November and will likely add the other month/s' GPUs in to the system builder when confirmed available.

We can't swap any existing orders for other brand cards into these Galax cards - they have been reserved for this Intel deal only.

We're working on an i9 deal but supply isn't great.

Intel Core i7 10700F | Galax SG RTX 3080 Gaming PC: $2299 after 10700-3080-OCT

  • Intel Core i7 10700F 8 core / 16 thread processor (10700KF upgrade available)
  • Galax SG RTX 3080 10GB (October arrival)
  • Asus Tuf Gaming B460 Pro WiFi ATX motherboard - limited stock of specific Z490 upgrades available on website
  • 480GB 2.5" SSD (upgrades available)
  • 16GB 2666MHz RAM (upgrades available but require Z490 motherboard upgrades)
  • Gigabyte P750GM 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU
  • MSI MAG Forge 100R case [limited Matrexx 55 Mesh 4F upgrades available)

AMD 3080 Deals: R5-3600 and R7-3700X | RTX 3080 PCs: $1995 (R5-3600) and $2195 (R7-3700X). Ryzen 9 available by email request to [email protected]

  • MSI October stock available for order
  • Gigabyte stock now into November allocation pre-order

Existing RTX 3080/3070 Order General Information

  • The handful of remaining September Gigabyte orders will be getting nice little notifications in their inboxes later today 💪
  • From all information from manufacturers and suppliers, we're looking great for October arrivals for Gigabyte and MSI cards within the month as scheduled. As per September cards, October systems will be built as soon as possible after they arrive, so I can't give any firm dispatch dates just yet, although I know you want me to.
  • We expect RTX 3080s generally to be in very short supply until Q1 2021, with timelines generally around the month mark from national shipment to national shipment. If you're holding out for anyone to offer a Black Friday 3080 deal, either system or card wise, I personally would be getting in the queue instead, put it that way.
  • If you're waiting for RTX 3070, NVIDIA announced last week they're delaying until the end of October to ensure better stock at launch. Whether this eventuates or not we have no visibility right now, but we will be offering deals after they launch.

AMD Zen 3 Launch

  • We are awaiting official Australian pricing (not just currency conversions) and applicable pre-order dates (if any) for AMD Zen 3 chips. They will be officially available in early November but supply will be extremely limited early on. We know there will be a price rise over the current gen.
  • Existing Zen 2 orders will have the opportunity to upgrade if they want to, but until we know pricing and quantities, we can't offer it yet. We will also be offering dedicated Zen 3 deals when we know launch details.

Cheers
Luke

If the SSD is valued at $69 why is the nvme upgrade $149 more?

      • +16

if you buy a system with upgrade from Techfast to decent config, might as well hand in your Ozb badge

      • Correct, techfast is to get a functioning PC with minimum priced parts on things such as the case, mobo and psu.

I would argue its good value to get a whole PC, then when you can, build and swap around the parts that need better quality buffs, starting with the PSU.

However, with this build, its looks like solid name brands, no biostar mobos or great wall PSU's here.

        • How so when its only $90 different between the built and the parts

      • -8

        Over $2K for a computer? That’s a lot of $$$.

        • +2

          laughs in excessive pcmr

        • +1

it's also alot of computer but you might know better. Can you show us a comparable prebuild for less money?

          Pretty please :)

    • Can I get without this video card with 32 GB pr 64 GB RAM instead?

  • -1

Another good deal Luke, thanks! But if people are buying the best GPU on the market I’d expect they’d want more than 2666Mhz RAM. I know you state that upgrades available, but I recommend you consider upgrading the package to 3200Mhz RAM as default if this truly is a gaming rig.

    • +16

It's a B460 limitation mate. i7 can run at 2933 officially on a B460 but we haven't bought in that RAM this time. People wanting 3200MHz can upgrade to Z490.

        • +12

Because the upgrade is there for people wanting it. It's exactly the same principle as offering the B550 on the AMD builds - could've done X570 but it increases costs for those who don't want or need it. If you don't want or need faster RAM, the B460 is a great gaming chipset and the Asus Tuf Pro WiFi is a great B460.

            • +19

@asa79: Then pay for the upgrade?

            • @asa79: It's because Intel don't let you overclock ram unless you buy a Z chipset isn't it? so 3200 ram will be wasted, and the cost of both Z chipset and 3200 ram makes it not such a competitive deal

              • +2

@menvert: he wants free upgrades to all top-end products without paying more

                • +4

@dcep: The problem with some of these deals are taking the upgrade option does not make the deal sweet any more. He was probably asking for better hardware combo to begin with, with a good deal price on that combo and probably not for free.

            • @asa79: If it's really such a big issue, a $99 upgrade shouldn't be much of an issue for you

Hi Luke, do you think you can offer the RTX3070 and/or Ryzen 5000 deals from early November? Any insights on stock availability?

    • +29

      Yes and yes and no!

      • +4

        LOL, precise and consice!

  • Hi Luke, any info on RDNA2 goodies?

    • +2

It was teased in the event showing 60+ FPS at 4K for CoD.

      • What model is that and how does that compare to the RTX equlivant on price and performance?

  • Does Z490 have wifi 6?

    • Yep, it does.

  • How much is the update to 3900 from 3700

    Thanks

    • $250.

  • Hi Luke, would you also be doing any deal with 3080 + Ryzen 5000 series?

    • +1

It's in the tl;dr post but yes, when details are available.

      • Thanks Heaps Luke. I cant wait to see the deal and place a order

  • For $100 more, it's better getting Asus Tug 3080, after the card crashing analysis…may be.

  • I am newbie to gaming computer. Can someone please advise if this is a good deal in terms of price and quality?
What sort of changes (offered in current deal) is optimal if price is not really a huge concern?
Currently playing genshin impact and my 8 year old XPS is lagging a bit. Thank you in advance!

    • +1

If you're just playing genshin impact I would recommend you got grab a 1660 or 1650 super build. It should handle games of that sort very easily

      • Thanks for your input. I actually looked up the spec requirement for the game and yes, about $1000 I should be able to handle the game fine. However, I am also interested in how fast the cheaper spec can last as requirement progresses.

        • Should be fine for a while if you're sticking to 1080p and 60fps

          • @nick nick: 1660 should be able to run any game of that kind to be honest. It's better than a 1060 and these mid range cards do really well on 1080p

    • +2

This would be a complete overkill unless you want to play genshin impact at 4K 60FPS+ and other games at 4K 60-120FPS. The current sweet spot for $1000 pc (like since 2016) will be outdated in like 3 months time and the next sweet spot $1000 pc should remain good for at least 2 years. Best to wait if you can price to performance wise, but up to you.

      • Thanks for input. As an ozbargainer, I wouldn't mind waiting for a good price to performance deal. I think I have read in the last couple of deals to wait for another month or so. I think this is what you are referring to as well? I am not savvy with computer components, appreciate your help.

        • +1

Yes, there will be new CPUs (AMD) and new GPUs (Nvidia & AMD). But the availability of these new parts in a months time will be scarce, so hopefully you can get one within 3 months. Alternatively, a build with old parts might become quite cheap and may worth considering.

  • Hi Luke,

Purchased one of the October ryzen 3600 deals. Any chance I can upgrade to the deepcool matrexx case? Really not a fan of the original two offered.

    Cheers,

  • -2

Why the 10700F? The 10700KF boosts up to a whopping 5.10Ghz, unlocked and it's only like 80 dollars more. there should be an upgrade option since you're also offering a Z490 mobo.

    • You can get the KF as an upgrade.

      • +1

Yup, i just saw it. It's an extra $147 though, kinda higher than expected

  • Strongly considering swapping the 3700x October build for this. However I prefer the MSI card to the Galax…

Anyone done this swap before? And know the process..

    • +1

It would need to be a cancel and reorder, which is doable, but we can't chop and change GPUs though - it mucks up internal allocation too much. Please email [email protected] if you would like to go ahead.

      • Thank you for the information and advice! Been a long time since I have used AMD, maybe it's time for a change..

  • +1

Will you ever offer a Mini Case? I think lot of people dont have room for full standing desktop

    • +3

Had plans this year but they got COVIDREKT

      • +3

Would be very keen for some CoolerMaster NR200/P builds!

  • -1

    RIP Intel…

    • +1

A new launch doesn't reduce the performance of existing products (unless you are apple). These are still great gaming CPU's just Intel will no longer carry the "best" title for gaming… or much else for the meantime.

      • -5

Oh you're talking about the 5950x that has a 5% more performance increase over the 10900k in gaming with a price of almost double? AMD is impressive but Intel is still the best in gaming untill we see third party benchmarks that says otherwise.

        • +2

Technically it's the 5900x I think that was directly compared I'm pretty sure. It is not double the price…

    • +4

more like RIP people who upgrade CPUs every year

      • I can't agree with you more mate :)

      • You mean to say I shouldn't pour $1000 into a new mobo + cpu every year? lol (I don't know why anyone would see that to be a good investment unless you make money off your cpu performance and even then probably still a bad deal)

        • +1

I guess those people just want the new shiny stuff or falls for the marketing? lol, if you are just gaming keep it for atleast 4 years

esp if you game at high resolution. even at 1080p its not that big of a bottleneck, 7700k for example still does great in most benchmarks for such an old cpu

          • @Freestyle: I have a 7700 lol and yeah its still pretty g bit of a bottleneck for my 2080 super in more open-world games but I got it for pretty cheap so I can't complain. (less bottlenecked at 1440p which is the resolution I play at)

  • Hi Luke,

Just wondering if I were to purchase this, what is the anticipated time of receiving it (Metro Melbourne)?
On the website it says approx 14 days, is that after the 3080 graphics card?

    • Perfectly valid but tricky question as all I can say is all October GPU systems will be dispatched as soon as possible after their respective GPU's arrival. The 14 business days really applies to systems whose GPUs (or CPUs as will be the case when Zen3 chips become available) are not subject to conditional arrival.

  • -1

I already got some parts can you order partial system like, don't mind paying a bit for to get them all in one place

motherboard, Zen 3 CPU, RTX3080 and SSD?

    • Only complete systems from us sorry.

    • Just sell the ram, psu and power supply on FB buy and sell.

      • *and case not 2 x psu lol

  • +1

Do any of the motherboards support Thunderbolt graphics output? I currently have a Thunderbolt only display.

  • Hey! Luke! Been following your deals for a while.

I'm wanting to go either AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or 3600X processor and either NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or 1660 Super.

What's your best deal in achieving this? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/569814 and upgrading?

Also others — I'm struggling to decide whether it's worth the extra $ for the above upgrades (ie. to the 3600X and the 1600 Super). Any thoughts?

    • Would like to know these as well. I think this will fall into category of entry level gaming rig that will suit me.

    • If you can afford it, future proof your build the best you can. Sometimes its worth spending a bit more on a MOBO (and other hardware) that is the latest and will allow more options in the future over a cheap one that is maxed out now.

specs on games/apps are only going to get more and more as time goes on..

    • That is the best deal at the moment, yep. 1660 Super is better for VR and higher frames/graphics settings. 3600 is the best bang for buck CPU in the market. Highly recommended if you have the budget.

  • Love ya work Luke….

  • Any idea what brand ssd the 1TB nvme is?

  • +2

Having used the MSI MAG Forge 100R for about 6 months I can no longer recommend it. It's got a odd shaped power button that recently gets jams easily, causing the PC to reboot once ever 10 seconds. The only solution i have at the moment is to lightly press the power button so it doesn't go all the way down.

Sorry I had to post it here (no offence to Intel)

  • what are the drawbacks of these systems even with the common upgrade paths?

  • -4

For your sake guys, do not buy these pre packed junk.. just build your own it is very easy and cheaper

    • -4

That’s says a lot coming from someone associated with Techfast. It’s definitely easy, cheaper, and better quality. Just YouTube how to put things together yourself.

      • +3

        I don't think they're associated.

        • +1

          Definitely not lol

      • +4

Like so many of Bongo's comments on our posts, this is deliberately misleading. The original commenter has no association with us.

  • -1

    whats the point of this

is the 3080 actually in stock? It states october but we are in ocotober?

Would be good to put an actual date

    also intel sucks

    • +1

We are actually in Octotober. Glory be to his noodly appendage.

      • ok genius

        which date?

  • -1

Holy crap all these tech fast builds are junk. Don't buy this crap. Unbranded parts and mismatched specs, you don't even get what you pay for with these. Do your own research and build something that is better quality.

    • DO YOUR REESURCH

    • which parts are unbranded dude?

    • LOL the only unbranded parts of this deal are the Ram and SSD.

On the AMD 3080 build, the ram was HyperX and the SSDs were PNY. I've seen worse SSD and HyperX is pretty good.

To be fair the doing your own research is always good though.

      • It is, but when the one telling others to do their research actually has not done any research (or lacks the brain power to process the information correctly), it is very amusing.

  • could anyone tell me the difference between this or a ryzen 5/7?
