Hanging Egg Chair $199 @ ALDI (Excludes VIC)

350

I’ve been researching these for a while. even cheap crappy ones on ebay tend to start at $350-$400. in retails stores they tend to be $600+.

The ‘mesh’ design like this one is also a plus, a lot of the cheaper ones have an odd thin swirl design like it was drawn by a drunk two year old.

Nothing better than summer arvo hangs in a hanging egg chair after a swim.

Hope it helps someone.

Enjoy :)

    Cheers OP. Welcome home.

    • +2

      Great to be home

    • Looks like OP didn't learn their lesson and is now permanently penalty boxed; short homecoming …

      • What did op do? Seems like I missed the show.

        • Being their usual selves i.e. troll

      • You can see in the revision history the not-so-secret message. Incredible.

        • People like him should not be allowed, Scotty should ban his email and IP

          • @777: Permanently banned now.

            • @Clear: Nice see his profile photo I find it quiet offensive tbh

    • They pretty much removed ALL special buys from victorian metro shops. All the Aldi's i've gone into they converted the middle sections to adding more pallets of other stuff they sell and no more spaces for special buys.

  • +7

That's is the most obvious "hidden" message ever. Seriously. Why even bother?

I'm sure TA doesn't hate you that much?

And apologies mod, I know this is off topic for the deal - but there's clearly an ulterior motive with this post.

    • -5

Yikes take it easy mate. Sounds like this guy needs to chill in a hanging egg chair ASAP.

  • +3

    I hate these chairs.
I’ve never seen the appeal, if you have to move quick because there’s a snake or a predator they’re a pain to get out of. Maybe I’m doing it wrong though.

    • +6

      Snake or predator 😂😂😂 what!

      • +2

I’ve already been called out twice to monitor tiger snakes since winter ended.
Given the weather conditions we’ve had, plus the reduced human pressure has allowed both reptile and rodent populations to increase, there should be a lot of snakes this for the next couple of seasons.

Spring has started bringing out the wildlife.
My cat bought a bat into the house last week. Cost me over $1,000 At the vet, as she caught something off it. Hope it wasn’t cat corona.

The cat brings lots of Eastern Brown snakes into the house. That’s not cool.

        • Quite convenient it was already in a box and you didn't have to catch it!

    • +2

Generic predator or like ‘The Predator’ alien?

      • +1

Foxes, dogs, feral pigs, and cats are the ones I’ve regularly dealt with, one time there was a ferret though.
I did once see a weird light in the sky but it was probably a weather balloon getting some reflections or something.

theres a flight to Mars coming up in a few years, no predators there as far as I know

      • +1

        Other than the planet itself…

    • +1

WTF? Where do you live? And what chair would you recommend for a quick getaway from predators?

      • Currently in a shoebox apartment that wouldn’t even have room for one of those chairs. The farm is near Booligal though.
I’d be heading towards the predators though, not trying to get away. As for verandah chairs, we had some nice wicker ones that were very solid and had arm rests. We had removable cushions that we kept inside when not in use to keep the mice out of them, otherwise they tear the stuffing out for nesting material. My mum had a vintage egg chair.

Just lift legs and form an egg cocoon.

      • But if I’m cocooning who is going to look after the chickens, or lambs if there happen to be any in the house paddock?

  • Excludes VIC again…. Did the Aldi's in other states recently offer lawnmowers? I haven't seen any in Victoria so not sure if they had them on sale this year or not.

    • I think any item that Aldi has deemed to be too heavy for a single person to deal with is not being offered in Vic.

    • Not too my knowledge re lawnmowers. I've been waiting for a nice battery one.

  • $199 in NSW.

Anyone know when the famous Aldi rocking sofa chair is going on sale again ?

  • +1

I guess these are for outside use?

    • +1

I use mine outside but replaced the hanging part with a skyhook. You can get them at Bunnings, just ask the staff for one.

      • +2

Or go and ask for a long stand

      • We are running out of Skyhooks, might want to try for Red.

  • +1

At least they had to decency to leave other items out of the Vic printed catalogue entirely. These & the outdoor lounge were both publicised in Vic this time. No doubt the pizza oven will be excluded from Vic as well despite the hype they're building over it. Reckon they'll start to be ticking people off shortly

  • Lmao, OP back in the penalty box already

I bought one of these from Aldi last year, there were only 3 available at my local store. Its held up quite well and is very comfortable to sit in. There is a strap that holds the chair to its post to stop it from flying around too much. It looks like they have changed the egg bit to be 2 pieces instead of 1 whole egg. I'm assuming this is to make the box smaller as the box last year was the size of a constructed dining table we had to take everything out of the box to barely get it in a station wagon, there was no way it could fit into a sedan.

  • What is the size of box tbis chair comes in and weight

Is something like this better for having a 40kg better rating? Is 2 people in a chair a bad idea?

What a disgusting practice by Aldi Stanhope Village. Not 1 chair was on the floor for sale. All chair were sold prior the store opening this morning, 10 chairs were sold at 7:30, before the store even opened. Staff at that store stated that they sell the products to people when they line up outside opening hours. Hmm where is this practice stated on Aldi website????? I did not know that we live in a communist country where you have to line up for 1 hour to find out that the products are not in store. Shame shame shame Aldi.

    • It's a special buy.

      • While stocks last - please note stocks are limited and will vary between stores. Despite our careful planning, we apologise if selected items may sell out on the first day due to unexpected high demand. In the event of unexpected high demand, ALDI Stores reserves the right to limit purchases to reasonable quantities.
    • Staff at that store stated that they sell the products to people when they line up outside opening hours

Probably for covid and social distancing reasons.

Apparently sold out state wide within 20 mins. Im sad too :(

    • I mean, if you were also lined up outside and then there was a mad dash inside, from the stores perspective selling them to those already in queue makes the most sense.

  • +2

Probably shouldn't of wasted my time when aldi only have 5 in stock and God knows how many people lining up to get one

  • +1

shouldn't have wasted any time on going to 4 local aldis and confirmed it was all sold out. shame on ALDI. feels like being fooled by this amazing deal. nice try. will never shop at ALDI again.

    • +4

      ALDI are notorious for this.

In Europe the competition authorities are coming down very hard on some of bait practices by Aldi and Lidl.
