Edit, as now out of Stock the OP has said the following in the comments:
"For everyone asking, so I don't have to reply to each person. Will probably have this deal again. Possibly 4k 27" as well. Potentially limited supply in a week or 2, more supply very likely before Oct end. Dgf 27" deal expected after Oct. No ultrasharp (u and p) series deals expected. Nothing is 100% confirmed, but Dell has taken an interest. In the end these are deals, so stock is never too large, nor guaranteed."

Dell is the only company I'm seeing willing to offer really competitive prices and reoccurring deals to satisfy as many customers as they can.

If you want to be informed, simply set up a keyword reminder, there's some comments throughout this thread or click here.

I'm glad Dell and I can bring you guys some smiles during covid. Stay safe OzB. ^^

Thanks LiMaaa for bringing these great deals to the community. Just wondering if there’s any chance you could organise similar deals for the U series monitors too? I’m after the U3219Q and U2415 in particular.

      • +1

Read my above comment. Not atm. ;)

        • My bad. Just read it again now. :)

    • +1

Thanks! Told my rellies. My niece got one but an uncle missed out. I'm sure there will be some monitor envy in a few weeks' time!

    • Great work, I’m keen to jump on to a sweet 3818DW as it’s an awesome screen for multitasking!

    • Cheers LiMaaa. You're a rock.
I'm looking for an 27" to pair with my Dell U2713HM for WFH purpose. Any suggestions?

      • +1

Tbh this monitor (S2721D) at this price point is perfect to pair with your current one. It's 2k, same size and perfect for WFH. Try nab one on the next deal.

  • -1

Is there any chance this deal running again? Missed out again, such bad luck.

    • +4

yes, read the above comment from LiMaaa. i recon 4k 27 is even better. only $80 more than 2k

      • +11

Make sure you know what you're getting into with a 27" 4k monitor!

I have a 28" 4k monitor and I'll be moving to a dual 27" 1440p setup instead, thanks to this deal.

A 4k - 27/28" monitor with the recommended scaling (150% on Windows) makes the viewport identical to that of an equivalently sized 1440p screen @ 100% scaling.

It is true that you do get somewhat better detail thanks to higher PPI on the 4k screen, however that extra detail comes at the expense of far higher pressure placed on the GPU. This is especially of concern if you're using a laptop over a USB C dock to connect to the monitor, as many of them max out at 30Hz on a single 4k monitor - which is a noticeably poor refresh rate.

In my opinion, most people need to move to 32" minimum to get any practical benefit from 4k. Tat said, it very much depends on your use case, there are certain content creation applications that can take advantage of the 4k resolution at 27".

Just my two cents - hopefully others make an informed decision instead of falling for the 4k hype like I did!

        • +2

thanks for your comments. Sure it helps. I personally think 27 with 2k and 32 up with 4k are just sweet spot. I got myself a 2k.
However there are people want something different. Anyway good deals.

        • +6

I'm the opposite to this actually. I currently run a dual 4k 28 upgrading from 27 2k and things are actually considerably sharper and nicer to look it with 4k. Maybe you don't get more real estate but the sharpness is definitely worth paying for if the difference is less than $50

Before upgrading to a desktop, I used an XpS 15 with WD19TB dock and it could run dual 4k 60hz + 1 2k 144hz (plug directly to the laptop), don't think there was a lot of stress on the GPU either

But yeah if you want to run 4k, you need a good dock that can do 60hz cause 30hz is unusable imo

Though this would only work with TB3 so no love for AMD here

        • I prefer the S2721Q because it has better contrast and 10bit vs 8 bit colour, even though they both cover 99% sRGB only. Put a surface book next to my UP2716D the sharpness difference is visible. For office work and movie, I think most GPU should be fine, just need to check if the port supports.

Btw, the 4K S3221QS is VA and curved, if it is IPS then it will be a no brainer.

  • Missed out, would have been perfect for the folks. And one for WFH too!

  • -2

Can anyone tell me what's so special about these monitors for the price? It's response time and refresh rate make it bad for gaming and it's only 27 inch and qhd? I feel I'm missing something.

    • +4

      Price make it special

      Find something with similar price?

    • it's an excellent price for a monitor that's great for WFH and good enough for gaming.

    • +2

It's IPS bruh, keep trying to convince yourself that you didn't miss out on a good deal

      • -4

Already have an ips monitor that's far better but thanks.

  • +2

Damnit I can't believe I missed out on this deal again.

If someone for whatever reason doesn't want theirs.

    Hit me up!

    • There will be more coming, keep your eyes on. Check LiMaaa' comments above.

    • +1

FFS - I missed again also. I can't believe the appetite for monitors.

  • +8

Please, learn from this - learn reminder, learn subscribe, learn search alert notification, learn front page notification. Make sure your email is up to date and setup permanent notification on your phone. No matter how busy you are, check your phone when it beeps. You will not miss the next deal. Do not worry about this deal, next deal will be better. Why? Because it is electronics! Worst case, 27 inch 4K will be this price after a few years. Your 24 inch 1080 will get you through next few years okay. Enjoy the weekend. Remember to check your email notifications.

The wise man imparted wisdom before he set off onto his long 2k gaming journey. ^^

    • Thanks for the support. I was going to end my life.

  • -2

Actually Dell can make deal as Pre Order, give us a rough delivery period, eg 2, 3 months, then they can make by the quantity of order.

  • Is there any difference between this and the popular $500 gaming variant which sold out a few weeks ago besides the high refresh rate?

    • +2

It really just comes down to your level of gaming. The DGF is a premium option focused at the gaming market. They come with a premium panel, the same used in the LG GL850 without the $800+ price tag as well as high refresh for those looking to achieve near perfect 2k gaming with the new 30 series gpu.

This monitor is exceptional quality for the price, without all the bells and whistles, which you can still utilise for WFH and gaming without the price premium should you choose to.

      • Thanks, I was wondering what the difference was between these two given the large difference in price. How are the panels different in this one?

      • Hi LiMaa, thanks for your efforts to bring us the best deals from Dell.

I ended up canceling my order due to the stand not being height adjustable.

Any chance for you to bring back the DS version with height adjustable stand?

        Thanks.

      • Thanks for your reply. Really thinking I should have got this instead of the DGF since I do minimal gaming. Shame it's out of stock though :/

Any chance this will be back in stock again at this price?

        • +1

Short answer yes. When and how much stock I can't tell you yet. Can sell your dgf easily, a lot of demand.

  • +1

Nice price. Can U pivot in portrait direction with sufficient hight? Non-reflective?
2 essential features (that Apple never cares- sorry no deal :)

    • This model has tilt but not swivel or rotate. You would get a monitor mount for that or the DS version which has more adjustment options with that stand.

As for reflectivity this has Screen Coating
Anti-glare, 3H Hard Coating. Which coupled with IPS usually makes for very good viewing angles.

  • Dell 27" S2721D ($239.20) VS S2721Q ($319.20), which one is a better buy?

    • It's entirely dependant on your needs / preference. They're almost identical, 2k vs 4k and a slightly higher refresh on the S2721D. Personally I prefer 2k @ 27".

      • Thanks LiMaaa, It will be for general used only. Spreadsheet and for multiple screens display.

        • The 2k 27" will be fine.

  • I'm looking for another 27" monitor to pair with my Dell U2713HM. Is the S series good enough? It has to be 2560x1440 though.
    Cheers

    • Literally this monitor is perfect to pair with that.

      • Can you please explain the difference between an ultrasharp monitor and these s class monitors?

        E.g. u2715h vs s2721d

        Thanks in advance.

        • Ultrasharp is top of the range, and S is the entry level.

  • +1

Awwwww, I feel ripped off :( (jk)

I would have grabbed another one of these but I went bush and had no reception yesterday, typical, lol

    • +2

Who knows what's around the corner ;)
      <3

    • +2

Make sure you are out of bush in the coming weeks

  • +3

Looks like they are back in stock for a limited quantity

    • Phew! Got one!

  • got one noice, cheers @wickee

  • +1

    Its back!!!

    • Thank you.
      Just bought :-)

  • A silly question:
Was this deal (and the future deal) for non eBay Plus members? And can couple PDELLME be used for non eBay Plus members?
    Cheers

    • +2

Why don't just try it instead of typing so many words. Yes, non plus

      • Just wanted to be prepared and save time trying because this deal will be gone in no time.

Anyway, lucky enough to place an order before it's gone. This comeback is unexpected.

  • +1

    Back in stock!

  • +1

570+ view per hour. Better act fast guys.

  • Got one, thanks guys

  • 5 left :-(

Edit - Aaaand it's gone, hope you got one guys!

  • Hope everyone above who missed last round could check ozbargain now

  • All gone. Again 50 units

  • -2

    ridiculous

11 people ordered 2 each. no wonder they're out of stock so quick.

    • Embarrassed to say I did too.
I work from home on tonnes of spreadsheets, SQL and code, currently run 1x 27" and 2x 24" either side, all cheap 1080p 60hz.
Decided i'll move to a 3x QHD 27" set up, just missing an upgrade for the middle one ;-) for after work gaming.

    • +2

      Broden ordered 4…

    • Dual screen setup for WFH is a norm these days, so you can't really blame people who ordered 2.
Hopefully Dell will have more stock soon.

      • Discount finishes tonight…

        • Where does it say that? Can't see any link to the T&C of the deal on the website

          • @thedean: The extra 20% dell code has expired. Still at the other down to $299 price still.

          • @thedean: Wow so it has, glad I was stalking this website tonight.
Annoying that it is still all over the Dell ebay store.

    • Dual screens (FHD) is pretty standard in the office these days.
There would not be many single UHD or QHD in the office though.

      • My office use single Philips 4k 32" monitor for everyone, upgrade since Oct last year

        • Nice.

But if you have bad eyesight and you have it at 100% no scaling, text would be hard to read :(

If you scale it up 200% does that not defeat the purpose?

My work are tight asses, so they would not pay that.

          • +1

@fredk1000: I find it more comfortable than looking as 2 FHD need to turn my head often

  • this sale spreads faster than COVID

  • +3

So this model is going to be ozbargainer's favourite monitor in 2020? Looks like everyone is going to have one.

    • While I was typing above comments, I missed the 27 4k one. Only 5 available.

      • how much was it?

        • 319.2

          • @ce5himm: Thanks.
As it was mentioned 2K is more than enough for WFH purposes, I'm happy I missed that 4K deal :-)

            • +1

@almostfrench: That's true, especially it's only 27 inch. 4k really start make sense from 32 inch. Of course some people prefer 27 4k, no problem.

            • @almostfrench: you not using 4K right then ;)

              • @asa79: No I'm not. And WFH with 2 screens, I probably have to spend more on usb-c dock to support 2x 4K outputs ;-)

                • @almostfrench: sounds like more a system issue, as i ran 4K off an old Intel NUC with no issues at all

  • +3

I dont get it… so much for people being on the bones of their backside as a result of covid… 4 monitors, really???

    • +2

its flipping at that point, those scumbags (ordering 3+).

  • +6

For those interested, Rtings review of this monitor will be available in a few days time…

    https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s2721d

    • +2

      review is now available.

      • +3

thanks looks not bad for a budget monitor. can we just apply the icc profile, i know they said reference only. but for people like me have no idea how to calibrate. i will give it a try.

  • Hi is it possible to adjust the monitor height lower? I already got a standing desk and putting this on top might make it too high. Cheers!

    • Yes I think

      • +1

        tilt only.
buy a spring arm mount, all sorted.

    • I think D model is not height adjustable.

      • Thanks all. Any suggestions on what I can get instead?

        • "DS" but out of stock and discount expired

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/566099

        • VESA arm/mount, this monitor model supports 100x100mm VESA and so do most currently available VESA arms/mounts.

          • +1

@wkaxon: As the stand is very limiting to adjust. A mount is necessary for this monitor in general.

  • Getting this deal is basically like trying to preorder a 3080 or one of the new consoles.

Probably harder since least you knew what time those were up for preorder, you gotta be on Ozbargain and refresh right when it goes up which could be any time lol

    • +1

"In its absence a treasure becomes far more lustrous." - me. ^^

  • How does this compare to the u2717d? Does it have the same panel or better? I was thinking of getting one just for the 3 year warranty.

    • both IPS and you probably can't tell the difference.
aesthetically very identical with slim borders.

S series seems to have better ratings than U series
      https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/dell-u2717d-vs-…

If you are a casual gamer then definitely opt for the S series because of Freesync and 75Hz.
U Series is 60hz without freesync, comes with USB input ports, stand with full adjustability to pivot, tilt and swivel screen. But I can't justify the price difference monitor arms are a better and cheaper option.
