Got charged $1.22 for 1 day only. I guess the next test will be to see if it's easy to cancel before end of the month. No international call charges. My Sim was in a modem the whole time. No calls made.

        • My experience was it was very easy to notify them, received confirmation service would terminate at end of that month (if porting, arrange so it is ported by that date), and everything worked fine.

    • Circles say the Bill is sent out within the first 10 days of month.
Received mine (last day in August (80+GB) $1.22, month of September (100GB) $1) on that other $1 for month Deal.

  • Very ugly company.
You will be charged $1 - $38 extra for proportion of the first month.
    I pay a $9.xx lesson , lodge a tio complaint and leave.

    • It's a post paid service, not prepaid.

How to avoid these issues has been posted many times. Best to read the advice.

It's all outlined in the Circles FAQ.
Those are the t&c you signed up to!

      • You will be charged $1 - $38 extra for proportion of the first month.

This always continues to confuse me. With the First two months free offer ($0 for 2 months), will they still charge the first month pro-rated? In that case, is it best to activate on 30-Sep-2020 or 01-Oct-2020?

If I activate on 01-Oct-2020, is it a possibility that they charge me full $38 or pro-rated if activated mid-month, and the actual discount / waiver of $38 applies for the "next two months"? Grrrr!

Oh God this is more of rocket science and less of a SIM Only Mobile Plan.

        • I decided not to buy it because I'm not smart enough to figure all this stuff out.

          • +1

@Arthur Dunger: You're smart enough… To be cautious!

Am still considering, taking note of others comments. About to sign up as am now confident of no bill for first 2 months.

        • +1

I think the whole idea of 2 month's free is to avoid the pro rata first month charges as people are not aware of it and then it ends up with TIO. Based on their TC, the activation month and the following next month are on the first bill with $76 worth of credit.

If you successfully sign up to the Circles.Life 100GB Monthly Plan during the Promotion Period using the
Promotion code advertised by Circles.Life and activate your SIM card by the deadline stipulated in point 2, you will
automatically receive a $38 discount on each of your Circles.Life bills for the first 2 months (including the month of
activation) to a maximum total discount of $76. Your first bill will include 2 x $38 discount as your first bill includes
your month of activation and the charge for your plan for the following month.

          • @TomGum: Thanks. So,
            1. Activate on 01-Oct-2020.
            2. First bill arrives on 10-Nov-2020 with charges: $38 + $38 - ($76) = $0. (As per their T&Cs)
            3. Schedule a termination on 30-Nov-2020, by placing this request by 31-Oct-2020 12PM AEDT.

Next time I'll try building a rocket.

EDIT: Thanks, got this in: https://circles-legal.s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/au/cir…

            • @djoz:

Next time I'll try building a rocket.

              It's not rocket science…
But it is far too complex, for those not sure they want to be continuing post paid customers.

          • @TomGum:

I think the whole idea of 2 month's free is to avoid the pro rata first month charges

            Agree!
The reason to activate at end of month in previous 1 month promotions was to force the first month at full price to be minimal, to take advantage of the promotion in the full second month.

In this 2 month promotion, that's not an issue - start on day 1 & get 2 months service.

            • @INFIDEL:

The reason to activate at end of month in previous 1 month promotions was to force the first month at full price to be minimal, to take advantage of the promotion in the full second month.

This is what earned them the Negs I think.

In this 2 month promotion, that's not an issue - start on day 1 & get 2 months service.

              Thank you so much :-)

              • @djoz: Finally, I think it's safe to go ahead as discussed:
                Sign up soon
                Activate on 1 Oct
Notify (early) in Oct to cancel 31 Nov
$0 in first bill covering 2 months.
Total cost should be just $1 SIM charge.

                My bill for 31Aug-30Sept is ($1.22 + $1) in $1 1month 100GB Deal.

                • @INFIDEL: Thats great. You got your bill - so around 7th-8th of the month?

                  • +1

@djoz: Checked this morning - bill arrived 7 Sep, 10:56am
Sent in first 10 days of month.

      • -3

If you successfully activated today 8 Sep, then you need to pay:
        $1(sim register fee) + ($38/30=$1.67(average daily proportion fee) x 22 (proportion of first month)=$27.87))=$28.87.
Yes, it can be lasted to 30 Nov. But $28.87 for 3 months is definitely not a good deal.

And most important is Circles Life is bloody correct base on its T&Cs, you have to pay or you will be prosecuted by law.

People who have been treated just said no and gave negative, but did not tell their lessons. This made things worse.

These kind of deals should be banned for bargain hunter sites.

        • +1

Unfortunately, you caused the bill to be large by ignoring advice.

Offer was for first 2 months of a month to month post paid plan - starting from first day of the month!

Starting part way into a month was not included, just the 2 full months of service.

Contact Circles. They have waived the first part month charge for others

Can't say you weren't warned to be cautious, read t&c, and follow advice in other Deals…

There were plenty of warnings not to do what you did or you would be billed like that!
That included my advice on day this Deal was posted.

The FAQ on Circles site explained the billing would be pro rata of part month. What-will-my-first-Circles-Life-bill-look-like-

I warned the pro rata of part month would be at full cost. It was outlined in the Forum post linked above. That's what you were billed.

If you had followed the advice - still being discussed above, you could have paid $1 for 2 months use of this prepaid month to month plan service.

Seems I wasted my time writing how to get the best out of these Deals & not get burnt.
          I've given up - bye!

          • @INFIDEL: The reputation of Circles Life in Ozbargain has told everything.

I am not in legal area, but think this may have ground:

Because it is in promotion period, penalty rate should base on promotion rate ( $0 or $1 ) not $38.

            • +1

@diver18: You were warned that isn't the case.

You and others complaining in Deals failed to read the advice, & t&c of the offers. That's very unwise!! It often leads to unnecessary problems, which are far better to avoid.

The majority don't have problems, just a very few do. Hasn't been a problem for me.

Circles explained in their FAQ it is pro rata payment for first part month.
Only the 2 full month services were at the promotional rate. You seem to expect nearly 3 months for the $1 SIM fee!

              Just contact Circles!
Unless the Rep reads your complaint, no one here can do anything about it.

It's up to you to take action.

              • @INFIDEL: Thanks for million words comment.
I believe most of us did contact circles before wigged in here.
If circles or you and others pioneers put "You will be charged $1 - $38 extra for proportion of the first month" on the ad or warning posts, circles may catch less but gains reputation for its honest.
Bargainer is blind when he sees a $1 for 2 months ad, but it is an overwhelming trick. Yes it may catch more this time, but its reputation…
You said you had many wins, which I can interpret as you ignored T&Cs many times. We come into the world with sins, greedy is everywhere. So do I.
@djoz may be for once, I do not think it applies to $1 deals.

                • @diver18: Yes - clear conditions in offers should be mandatory. It's not hard to see why people have had bad experiences with Circles!

Even with very clear warnings, people will ignore them to grab a bargain! People repeatedly post neg votes & comments to warn.

I rarely fail to read the main t&c - but they can be easily misunderstood when rushing for a bargain!

I prefer to understand possible problems & learn from others' issues, to avoid later complex problems. Discussing those here helps me clarify matters in my own mind, before I take up the offer.

So I am grateful for many inputs by others. Am now cautiously taking up this offer.

My wins are often more moral victories when businesses act against consumer interests - which really annoys me.
Taking on large companies & achieving an outcome for consumers challenges me.

Like us, businesses can make mistakes & argue that it's not their fault.
Once we lock into seeing a situation from 1 perspective, it's hard to see it any other way. Which limits possible solutions.
It's a problem of being too close to the issue to see it clearly.
Something I have worked on with my successful business clients & others.

I think I'll keep to the areas where I have a record of success.

            • +1

              @diver18:

I am not in legal area, but think this may have ground

I've had many wins in consumer matters…

Had notice of a win today for consumers with a large multinational chocolate company - distributing 25,000 free but FAKE smart watches in a recent promotion.
The ACCC investigated my complaint. I also raised the issue with the Australian Olympic Committee who put pressure on the company.
The company has started distributing replacement smart bands that measure heart rate as promoted, instead of producing FAKE RESULTS as I discovered.
That's an expensive mistake for the company in monetary & reputational terms. (As I had warned them!)

I've taken a company to court, & won in a consumer matter. Legal advice was it would be very difficult to win, as there was no legal precedent. My win is used as the basis in similar cases since then. I received support from a Government department in preparing the long case, as it was an important matter in the public interest.

But, customers failing to read what they are signing up to & ignoring advice doesn't cut it as much of a consumer complaint!

It's a matter of Caveat emptor - Latin for "Let the buyer beware". And you were warned!

People complain here - wasting their time venting so many times over issues they could have avoided! It achieves very little.

We all make mistakes, it's how we get ourselves out of a problem that matters.
I made a mistake with a bank recently, costing me hundreds! I considered I was a fool! It was my first account with the bank, & I misunderstood how it operated.
I thought about my error, and after a while trying to avoid it, contacted the bank. I considered - I had nothing to lose except some time.
They listened & asked what outcome I wanted. I negotiated an outcome they could agree to & I recovered all the funds. A successful outcome.

As in the above successful cases, the first step is always to contact the business. Be clear & calm about what you want. Explain the problem for you, what you had expected from the offer, & what you want.

If you don't ask, they can't help.
I've been surprised by what can be achieved👍

              • @INFIDEL: I think, for once, Circles.Life has/had taken the negative feedback quite seriously and thereafter changed their T&C so that the advertised discount applies 'including the month of activation'. Earlier it used to be 'excluding the month of activation'.

They seem to have done this on 28-Jul-2020. Note, this offer is not current, but I am mentioning here just to understand - that time around they finally agreed among themselves to give the discount for the month of signup as well.
Checking the T&C of one previous offer: Code: DATAMANIA (July'2020 offer)
                https://circles-legal.s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/au/cir…

If your signup was made on 27 July: You will automatically receive a $10 discount on each of your Circles.Life bills for the first full 6 months to a maximum total discount of $60 excluding the first month which includes the first month of sign up which has prorated billing.

If your signup was made from 28 July onwards: You will automatically receive a $10 discount on each of your Circles.Life bills for the first 6 months (including the month of signup) to a maximum total discount of $60. Your first bill will include 2 x $10 discount as your first bill includes your month of signup and the charge for your plan for the following month.

Now, this current deal Code: OZBTRYUSOUT also has the words (including the month of
                activation)
in their T&C which means the discount will apply to the month of activation, whether pro-rated or full month.
                T&C for OZBTRYUSOUT: https://circles-legal.s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/au/cir…

If you successfully sign up to the Circles.Life 100GB Monthly Plan during the Promotion Period using the Promotion code advertised by Circles.Life and activate your SIM card by the deadline stipulated in point 2, you will automatically receive a $38 discount on each of your Circles.Life bills for the first 2 months (including the month of activation) to a maximum total discount of $76. Your first bill will include 2 x $38 discount as your first bill includes your month of activation and the charge for your plan for the following month.

                • @djoz: Yes, different offers have had different t&c - something complained about on Ozbargain. It gets far too confusing.

Circles need to make these conditions much clearer, or people won't use their service.

But as a business - they are interested in customers who stay with their service. We will be costing them money & leaving. If staying, these issues don't matter much.

We can only go by the t&c current at the time of the offer.

Termination notification completed (for service from previous 1month Deal).

Pretty easy - logged into site (it failed to load termination process in Android app).
    Select 1 of 3 (end of) months - currently Sept/Oct/Nov. (I selected 30Sept)
Validate via SMS code & terminate.

    Received confirmation email:
    Hi Infidel,
We're gutted that you've decided to leave Circles.Life. Your termination for mobile number 04###### will take effect at 11PM^ of the last day of the month.
If you change your mind, you can cancel your request for termination before 12PM^ on the last day of the month by clicking on the button below.
^Times shown are in Sydney (AEST/AEDT) timezone

Now to sign up for this Deal…

    • Use the below link.

      https://au-shop.circles.life/manage/order

Edit: looks like your page has that link already.

    • Ok, so placing a termination request of 30-Sep in the same month (i.e. by 10-Sep) works. That was another confusing line in their terms.

You can schedule termination up to 3 months in advance. For terminations scheduled in the following month, you will need to submit your request by 12:00 pm AEST/AEDT on the last day of the month. Otherwise, this request will be taken into account for the following month. All service cancellations will be effective at 11:00 pm AEST/AEDT on the last day of the month.

      Following Month? Month? Following Month?

      • Yes, they really haven't mastered English made Easy, have they.
That has caused a lot of the problems with (understanding) these offers!

In service agreements (contacts), wording & it's understanding by the customer is vitally important!

I could say this is an issue of an overseas service, where English is not the first language.

Overseas based ShopBack had similar confusing messages from their Rep when it first started. I spent a lot of time with them resolving problems - it was all about the confusing wording. They realised the ambiguous wording lacked the certainty customers required to do business with them.

Circles needs to learn that lesson to do business in Australia, or elsewhere.

That's why I thought I'd talk us through the process I just did - it's easy! The confirmation email makes the process certain.

        • In service agreements (contacts), wording & it's understanding by the customer is vitally important!

          Agree

          Agree

That's why I thought I'd talk us through the process I just did - it's easy!

          Thanks, again.

          • @djoz: I'll send them a bill for my advice😃

            • @INFIDEL: Since they say we have to ensure 'no bills are pending payment' prior to scheduling a termination, how do they allow scheduling 3 months in advance. Seriously…

              • @djoz: It's another Circles trap😉

                Normal with post paid plans!
That is you can't rack up bills & rack off without paying…

They can always bill you for any outstanding amount. But they would need to send a bill before termination date!

And if you don't pay - my guess is Circles would say you haven't met the condition to terminate, & keep billing @$38/mth!!

But it should be $0 in our case, unless you exceed 100GB/mth (don't forget they add 3GB free to prevent "Bill Shock" - I used it each month with free 20GB Deal!), add bonus packs, or make international calls etc.

            • +1

@INFIDEL: Be sure to bill them in advance for the following month as well.

              • +1

                @djoz: I'll tell them - it's in the t&c😂

Even when I was a Uni student long ago, I was always good at billing my clients.
(Often $250/hr 4hr min, plus costs! For corporate clients & groups that was considered very cost effective. One corporate client developed a premium niche market worth an estimated $300M/yr in extra sales in 1 session!! Wish I got a commission on that!)

  • SIM ordered at midnight, paid $1 for SIM, arriving after lunch today…
I had ordered for a new number.

    But I still have concerns.

When signing up, the process hung before entering CC. So started again with a new contact number.
Order was successfully placed. SMS & email confirmation.

But this morning received email that my order wasn't complete - probably the failed one.

Worryingly, a new condition on this offer appeared that is not in the above conditions or seen during sign up:

Only open to new customers who are transferring their existing number to Circles.Life.
100GB plan is usually $38/mth. You will receive a $38 bill waiver for the first full month of your 100GB monthly plan.
Registration fee of $1. The pro-rated monthly plan fee for your month of signup will be chargeable.
All for use in AU; resets monthly. Excess data: $0.01/MB.

My guess is this condition was left over from the previous offer for Victorians transferring their existing number!
    Very confusing, Circles!!

Pro rata Charge for part of first month is outlined above in Deal Description link:

    Find out more here: https://www.circles.life/au/ozbargain-exclusive-2/

    Frequently asked questions
    How does the promo work?

Please note that the plan cost for your month of signup will be prorated as well to the date you activate your SIM card.
So, for example, if you activate your SIM card on 15 September you will receive 90GB of data (10GB Base Data + 80GB Bonus Data) and your bill for your month of signup will be $19 (half of the full $38)

I think I will again be paying the $1.22 "insurance" by activating on 30 September, so there will be no doubt.
Activating just after midnight of 1 October could result in a $38 bill as it was the bill for your month of signup charged prorated on full $38 cost!!

Circles needs to tidy up it's t&c, not add new ones hidden away.

    • Even if it's charged it doesn't matter you will still receive a $76 credit on your first bill.

      • it doesn't matter??

That link outlines there is a cost for month of connection of between just over $1 to $38!

So if activating on 1 Oct as I planned, that's a likely extra $38 charge, for "month of connection" with the next 2 full months paid by the credits.

$39 total cost is a bit different to free (plus $1 for SIM) most would expect in this promotion!

        • +1

That link does says waiver will apply to month of activation. It is specific to this offer.

But the link in this Deal Description says it doesn't! That condition is also in the email I received about this offer.

And my email adds another condition of need to transfer your number to receive waiver. Another condition when I signed up said if conditions in offer is not met, waiver will be withdrawn…

Circles needs to get its act together to make these offers clear!

            • @INFIDEL: My guess is they forgot to update their email template. Remember this offer is new and unique.

              • @TomGum: Yes, the different t&c probably apply to different promotions. Unfortunately they're linked to this Deal.

As this is a contract we need to agree to, having multiple active t&c linked to this offer in this Deal - there is no certainty.

                • @INFIDEL: Btw I just looked at the offer carefully again and my order confirmation email, and I can't find the details you highlighted?

                  • @TomGum: That was after a failed sign up. It asked me to continue my order.

Checked the email more carefully - it has a different promotion code to the one in this Deal which I used! Clicking the link in the email would have signed me up for a different offer, not continue the order with this code!!

So a failed sign up for this offer was replied to about a different offer with code GIVEUSAGO (Bill Waiver $38.00 for 1 month) - which isn't even listed on Ozbargain.

So need for transferring your number doesn't apply in this offer!

                    Talk about confusing.

                    • @INFIDEL: Maybe don't order during midnight. The mind and body and in your case your PC wasn't functioning to its fullest lol.

                      • @TomGum: Thanks for your help - was confused when I woke up to seemingly different t&c to when I ordered!

                        • @INFIDEL:

Clicking the link in the email would have signed me up for a different offer, not continue the order with this code!!

                          Clickbait exemplified !

By the way, what are you going to do now as apparently you've "signed up" for an offer you didn't really want. Are cancellations allowed? I don't think "signing up" for GIVEUSAGO and then going thru the customer care route to actually activate OZBTRYUSOUT is a safe idea. You never know what your first bill will look like.

Btw, the GIVEUSAGO is now featuring on the Homepage of Circles.Life and that is why probably you got the default email of the default offer that is ongoing. So basically, it just notified you that your order has failed, please visit us again and sign up. Ofcourse, their auto-emails, wouldn't be Ozbargain-customised, and the standard template would just take you to the default offer that's ongoing. As always, too much uncertainty.

                          • @djoz: No - am confirmed as signed up for this offer.

Opened email saying my order wasn't completed only to check it. Was surprised by new condition, until realised it was a different offer.

                            Just lacked sleep this morning💤

                            • @INFIDEL: Ah, ok then. 01-Oct-2020 it is.

                              • @djoz: Marked in my calender!

Had to leave first order last night as CC payment wouldn't load on their site in over 20 minutes of refreshing & couldn't cancel process.
So started new order & it worked.
They thought I would want to go ahead with the order - with a lesser code… Fools!

                    • @INFIDEL: If you don't complete your order they will spam you relentlessly with various offers

                      • @jackofspade: That just shows how much they care❤
Get enough reminders to activate SIM anyway.

                        • @INFIDEL: Two things. I've read several comments here and on Facebook as well on:

                          1. Getting charged for International Calls & Text never done
Has this got something to do with Dual SIM? I know crazy to ask, but if I'm using my second SIM (non-Circles, non-Optus) to make international calls, are Circles considering it as done on their network? I hope this is not what is happening. It shouldn't but I'm wondering why others have complained about International Calls. What is the way out? Can't disable Circles SIM each time I want to make a call.

                          2. Unexpected Accounting of Data Usage
Few people have reported that they average about 20GB per month, but with Circles, their entire 100GB got exhausted plus they got billed for additional data. I agree there are alerts at 50%, 85%, 100% of data usage, plus their App which will regularly give the data balance, plus an apparent 3GB "bill shock" protection. But what's with this incorrect accounting of Data Usage? Any Thoughts? Also, what does the 3GB bill shock protection do? Is it basically just 3GB additional free? Or is it that we cant use more than 3GB on PAYG rates once we exhaust 100GB?

                          • @djoz: No idea. Not in my nearly 5 months with Circles.

                            • @INFIDEL: I see you took the 4 months free plan (when Circles.Life launched). Since a lot was unknown that time, how much were you charged for the first month (pro-rated)? Or did you go thru the T&C completely and activated on last day of the month to get billed $1.22 for the month of activation back then?

                              Just curious.

                              • @djoz: At that time it was free for part of joining month. Activated on day 2 of month & received 5 months (less 1 day) free @20GB/mth👍

                                • @INFIDEL: Ah, I went and read the T&C of that deal now. (First pro-rated month + 4 full months) free. Was a very nice deal. I missed it back then, wasn't really aware of this new telco. One year down they are still scouting for new customers.

                                  • @djoz: One year down they are still scouting for new customers.
If you haven't noticed - most mobile providers are!

                                    That's why it's a great time for SIM hopping👍 (but when isn't?)
Went from free Circles (5 months) to multiple free Amaysim, 99c Kogan, Amaysim with $11 profit, and back to Circles for 3 months for $3.22!
So still made a profit on about a year of mobile service!

    • Hey - any idea if we can have more than one service at a time with them ? In need of additional data and was wondering if I can have multiple services with them under using different email accounts ?

  • I availed myself of their early 4month 20gb offer and had no problems getting out alive, I've bought this one too but just for the data, after reading through is it right that I will need to receive and respond to an sms to validate the cancellation request?
(If so I'll just have to swap the sim card into a phone for a bit) Kudos to those who have helped to translate the terms and conditions!

It's a post paid month to month plan, so a little more complex to leave than prepaid.

And much more complex to understand. So we're lucky to have help!

When you request to terminate - to validate your request, a code is sent via SMS (no SMS response needed), which you enter in the Termination Request page.

If the SIM is in a modem / tablet - you might need to pop the SIM in a phone during the quick Termination process to validate. I'm using an old 4G phone as a modem - so easy.

You can request to terminate any time after activation. Termination is done on last day of month you select. But don't leave it to the last week of last month of service - in case there are unforeseen delays.

A confirmation email is then received.

The termination steps I took a few days ago in Deal for current month.

  • So what's the latest? Activate on 30-Sep or activate on 1-Oct?

    • +2

I'm placing my bet on 1-Oct for the win!
As per this Deal's t&c discussed above. It is specific to this offer.

That link says waiver will apply to month of activation. So to receive 2 months free service - activate on 1-Oct!

      • Thank You.

        • +2

          Gamble (with SIM offers) responsibly!

  • Circle.Lifes does credit inqury for the service. I got hit twice, this year and last year on Equifax report.

    • Discussed a few times.

  • Is Circles.Life going to remind us every 2 days to activate the SIM? Until we activate the SIM?

    • Answer: YES!!
I just ignored the many emails & SMS messages & set up a reminder for Oct1 activation date.

      • How do you track your data usage? Is it only using the Circles.Life App, or do you also double up with another notifier / easy indicator / phone feature to show usage? Also, is the additional 3GB "Bill Shock" protection completely free? So we actually get 103GB per month?

I hope it's safe to use it in a Dual SIM phone. Just worried about others complaining getting charged for international calls which they never did. I hope it doesnt bill the usage from other SIM as well. Absolutely it wont, but just reading the other complaints makes me think.

        • +1

Data use is shown in the App. They update you on your use @50% etc via email & SMS. (I passed 50GB last week on previous Circles SIM for September!! Now showing 50.6GB in app. I've cut back!)

Yes, the additional 3GB "Bill Shock" protection is completely free. So we actually get 103GB per month. Used the free 3GB with past 20GB plans.
They send an email suggesting to activate it when data is almost used up.

No difference I can see in using with a dual SIM phone - set Circles for data. That way your phone can give an estimate of data used.
If the other SIM does outgoing calls - set it for calls, just in case.
(My second SIM is an active Amaysim SIM, with no credit. Used for incoming calls on my long term number.)

I've got the Circles SIM in an old 4G phone, used as a Wi-Fi hotspot for home data - streaming movies, etc & for data on my phone when at home. So not used for calls.

          • @INFIDEL: On the FAQ page regarding termination:

If you have any pay-as-you-go charges incurred from your last month with us, you will receive an invoice that you will need to pay via direct debit to our bank account. We'll send you the details if this happens to you.

Does the Circles.Life app show you the PAYG charges on a ongoing basis? As in, on any particular day, would I be able to see any 'unbilled' PAYG charges to know how I am going?

            • @djoz: PAYG charges (international calls, & I assume excess data) show at bottom of app dashboard. None for me & 45GB still to use this month, before free bill shock 3GB kicks in. Previous 5 months free - no PAYG charges.

As we are on a month to month Plan, I don't know that really applies to us. With Amaysim, for example, when the paid period is up & don't recharge, it then goes to PAYG billing for each call etc. As shown in Circles app, PAYG charges include ordinary data, calls & txt, which are included in the Plan.

              • @INFIDEL: Yes, I am only worried about any International Call /Text Charges being applied without my knowledge - based on the comments seen in other posts. Otherwise, I guess everything else is included in the 'Plan'.

That's my only worry as of now.

                • @djoz: …That's my only worry as of now. lol!

                  • @INFIDEL: Hahaha, I've managed to reach this level of confidence after reading multiple posts, forum, deals here on OzB. I hope I have made the correct decision.

                  • @INFIDEL: Btw, are you picking up this as well?
Unlimited Plan S with 40GB Data for $1/28 Days @ Lycamobile
                    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/568388

                    • @djoz: No - I've got enough SIMs for a while.

From memory (which may be wrong).. Think Lyca had a reputation here for billing after leaving (post paid plan?), like some found with Circles.

So best to view old Deals & comments. Don't take my advice as I have never used Lyca.

                      • +1

@INFIDEL: Yes, very few users on Lyca. One of my friend had got a SIM and was nevr able to activate. He didn't know the number assigned to him, the confirmation email he got had a six digit number as his phone number! And the customer care would't agree to help unless he provided the phone number of his SIM.
Tried a few times and gave up.

  • Any way to physically cancel before the last day of the month?

    • Physically? Circles wouldn't have any stores, so can't walk in and terminate, if thats what you mean to ask.
Just use the App or submit a request on their website. The direct link is available in their FAQs as well here:
      https://circlesaustraliasupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/article…

This was demonstrated a few days ago by @the INFIDEL

      • What I meant was can we cancel then and there instead of waiting for the end of month. So I contacted them and they said they can't. All cancellations go in a list that gets processed at midnight end of month. Would be interesting if there was an error and the cancellation didn't get processed.

        • You get a confirmation email when you place request for termination. As suggested by @the INFIDEL, do it just after you get your bill that month.

If the cancellation has an error, its not your fault, and you have the confirmation email to get back to them and inform about it. You should not be charged anything further.

Yes, since its a 'calendar' 'month-to-month' plan, it will terminate only at the end of the month. Kinda weird, as usually all service providers have several billing cycles across the month and do not stick to a 'calendar month'.

  • My previous 1 month service was set to terminate today…
    It terminated @16:43!
Checked previous service - terminated @16:17.
This is a confirmation that your Circles.Life number was terminated.

    Was expecting 6hr more service!
The confirmation email received at start of month, stated Your termination for mobile number will take effect at 11PM of the last day of the month. (Times shown are in Sydney (AEST/AEDT) timezone)

So no streaming tonight! Oh well, will activate this Deal in the morning 🌄

Just another thing to be aware of with Circles.Life.

    • Me too but I have no data left anyway

      • I had about 30GB left. Only realised when Google Home told me it couldn't connect to the internet!
        Oh we'll, an early night🌛

        • Watch local tv.

          • @TomGum: Don't worry - have other options, like many TB of movies on the Hard Drives, …but will likely catch up on sleep😴

Tomorrow is another day of almost free Data on Circles.Life.

            • @INFIDEL: Invest in a Telstra 4g smart modem ;) from gumtree. The backup option has been great during Sim data shortages.

              • @TomGum: I've got plenty of Data on Kogan SIM, but keep that for other purposes.
Just was going to use up the last of the Circles.Life data in the modem for streaming tonight.

                • @INFIDEL: Oh yeh. I still have Kogan Sims to use too. Offers like these has delayed the use of any Kogan data :(.

                  • @TomGum: The Kogan SIM is in use in the phone, the Circles one is in the house modem.
Found there was no data available when I arrived home. So Google couldn't turn on the lights💡

                    Lots of options in Data.
I've still got "expired" Vodafone Data SIMs from years ago that I swap for new packs.
But these Deals are easier than going into the Vodafone store.

    • +1

I am waiting to be terminated, but still not happening. Any time before 5pm by the look of it. Maybe CL wants me to exceed "the 3GB bill shock" mark.

      • Terminated at 5.49pm AEST.

        • When did you start your activation?
