I found this 50 mask deal while I was browsing AliExpress for a thermometer and it was mixed in with a thermometer listing as well. I am unsure about the quality. Mods, Feel free to remove this deal if you think it is not suitable. I am guessing at $7.61 including GST it will be gone quickly. Hope this helps someone out.
Enjoy!

  • At your own risk. I suspect you would end up with 5 masks in your letterbox.

    • +4

It says 50 pieces, and if they don't send 50 aliexpress buyer protection can give you a refund as it clearly says in the listing

      • -4

I clicked the link and it says +5.
Not 50. Even the icon on this website says 5.

I know it says 50 if you click the item but I think that is a error.

        • +5

AliExpress has 2 options .. the Thermometer with 5 masks … OR 50 masks

Pay $3.14 and you can do the shipping for 13-20 days delivery instead of 24-49 days with the free shipping option

          • -4

            @CereaL: Honest question..

            Where?

            • +2

              @Ruprect: The Color option.

              • +2

@Clear: one of the reviews have a picture and it says they chose option A which is this one and there is 50 masks

              • -4

                @Clear: Thanks.

Yes looks like it is 50 but given it is under colour I still maintain people buying need to brace themselves for disappointment :)

                • +1

@Ruprect: Indeed. I would be skeptical of how effective they really are.

      • +6

I just finished with dispute with AliExpress about item not received after more than three months. The seller has used someone else’s registered post tracking number despite the item’s value being just US$1.40 (enough proof that it doesn’t cover registered post). They declined to give refund because it’s showing delivered to AU. They are asking me to get document from Australia Post.

The seller even asked for extra US$1 due to shipping price rise but I cancenelled and yet the seller still processed it.

        • +2

Same story with me, shipment never arrive, aliexpress asked me to provide document to proof item was not arrive.
          ??? wtf ???
How to provide a document to proof item was not arrive ? From federal police ?
Ended lodge dispute to my credit card and get refund from mastercard

Aliexpress always at seller side, not like ebay which stand with buyer
Avoid aliexpress, I never buy any from them anymore, stick with ebay

          • +1

@jasperdmx: The problem with AliExpress is that your success in the dispute process will entirely depend on your level of membership - Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. As Gold and Platinum I've never had issues with the dispute process. Generally people who have had issues are Silver and less commonly Gold.

            • @Clear: I am gold member. Had it been ordinary mail, I wouldn’t have issue as I have lodged dispute before with no problem. I had similar experience with only difference was the tracking no showing the item was delivered in QLD where in fact I am in Melbourne so the dispute was settled in my favour.

            • @Clear: Correct. I got dispute approved in almost instantly, weird but true. And full refund hit my bank in 2 , 3 days. Even local company send refund in a week….

              I'm platinum.

          • +3

@jasperdmx: Agree, avoid AliExpress. Nothing arrives and their dispute process is so painful. Rather pay more for same thing being delivered from elsewhere than China.

            • @tencents: Once ordered a Oneplus 3T from AliExpress. It was a month late and I complained. So they said they would process it asap.

Sent via DHL. Few days later, I received… 2 parcels. Two phones. One was the Oneplus 3T and one was some el cheap but still decent chinese phone (worth maybe $200). lol

Not sure if it was a mistake or if they were trying to get me to give them a 5 star.

          • @jasperdmx: See my comment here

        • I had an item show it was delivered and it was not. I paid extra to have it shipped from Australia, yet the 'tracking' showed it left china and was delivered quite quickly. I lodged a dispute, asking the seller which company within Australia was the delivery service so I could check the tracking number. They never replied and I got a refund. Ali have sided with me about 95% of the time.

        • wow, same thing happened to me but AUpost site says no tracking into available for the tracking number given by seller while the order page on ali says item delivered in AU by seller. what do i do :(

          • +1

@upbeat: Yeah mine is not trackable on Auspost but showing delivered to AU on Singapore Post website. The item being just US$1.40 suggests me the seller never sent the item as sending by registered post alone costs more than that.

          • +1

@upbeat: Enter tracking number here 17Track or if shipping company is Cainiao and has a tracking number starting with 'S', enter it here first. This should then give you a 'LH*********CN' tracking number which can be entered at 17Track. This will have more detailed tracking info including the suburb/postcode of where the item was delivered. Then inform AliExpress that the item was delivered to another postcode and they will refund you.

            • +1

@adr8: Thanks @adr8 LP00xxxxxxxxx939 (UY…..CZ) it gives me result only in cainiao site, which only says Arrived at destination country

              • @upbeat: Yeah tracking number LF0*******1SG gives no result on 17track. Only on cainiao and Singapore Post site.

        • +1

Same BS from my experience in January. Fake tracking number, item arrived in Sydney (I'm in SA). Asked me to prove I didn't receive it (wtf). Never got a refund.

Previous to this, an item arrived but didn't work. Same deal. Got a chargeback. Chargeback was disputed, I then challenged it with sufficient evidence, and it stuck.

As for the thermometer in this deal, they are great for checking if your AC is working properly or an engine thermostat. But on human skin, none of these things work. We sweat, sit in the sun, get cooled by wind etc. It has almost zero value as a covid tool. There is another post on here where I discuss this with a covid screener (they are a smoke and mirrors device), but again, great for anything else but skin.

          • @tunzafun001: See my comment here

            • @adr8: Cheers, but I did exactly this, and they didn't refund.

              • @tunzafun001: I've got this e-mail. Hope it helps my case. I'd advise you to get one as well
                Thank you for your email.

We would like to advise that all tracking numbers you have provided have no available information to be able to assist. The items are not allocated in our network and are updated unavailable.

@tunzafun001: Guys, Try getting AU post and NZ post (in my case) to send an e-mail saying the said tracking no. is unavailable/ not delivered to your address. That's what I'm getting them to do. I'll add the e-mail screenshot as proof before raising a dispute after my BP ends

Update to my above comment. After sending message to seller about the tracking number, the seller said the logistic company gave the wrong tracking number and is for another customer so he asked for my paypal to refund me. I took screenshot of the chat and showed it to AliExpress (case ID created before) and they refunded me.

      • +3

AliExpress buyer protection is total crap.

        • They almost always side with me. But it might be as I'm at about 750 orders with them.

        • +1

Never had an issue at all personally.

  • 49 day shipping.

  • +5

By the time they arrive, they won't be needed anymore🤣🤣

    • They may arrive in time for the fourth wave.

  • I think it is for 50 masks, if you look at the feedback there a picture of a pack of 50 so looks right to me. Basically the price they should be anyway

    • When I look at the picture in the feedback, it only tells me it’s not even worth a dollar. Quilton TP is probably in better quality than that.

  • hollllyyyyyyy shit. Sometimes things can be just TOO cheap. Next.

  • Ordered one for the memes, may never arrive tho

    • Keep us updated

      • they arrived.
        https://imgur.com/EXFKUzn

description says civilian mask for daily use not medical, so probably not a proper one but good for compliance at least

  • Page Not Found???

    • It is showing up for me

  • I'm sure it is a stuff up by them but for the price one is not going to lose much… and might just end up with 50 mask or Thermo as well. Can't loose really.

    • I think we are just used to price jacking for masks because of this pandemic, I am pretty sure this was the pre pandemic price and the seller didn't update it or maybe the seller is clearing out inventory from pre pandemic and maybe left the price? someone reviewed this exact same one on the 4th of August 2020 and the picture in the review is 50 masks.

      • The clanger is the +5 with a Therm…. They are not going to rip out 5 out of a pack of 50 for that offer.

The other is the colour… why? Colour does not come into it.

Stuff up.. I will give it try as for less then 10 bucks.. why not ;)

        • +1

The other is the colour… why? Colour does not come into it.

That has nothing to do with the seller. Rather AliExpress have named the part to choose different products in the listing as Color. A seller can't change that textfield.

  • too cheap to be true

    • I have been check on taobao for the masks price, sometimes it's only $3 for 50 disposable masks. There is a over supply of masks in China so the price Crushed, especially for non brand masks.

  • +1

Price is about right on Aliexpress.

    You can pickup 200 for US$17.80 - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001193403450.html?spm=a2g0s…

  • lol j/k

  • +2

The feedback photos for product A show about 50 masks in a plastic bag.

  • -1

I would not trust a cheap thermometer from china. There are also conflicting information about the accuracy of the thermometer, the picture say 0.1c but product description say up to 0.3c which is useless.

    • +1

This isn't about thr thermometer and I've seen then wrong by 3degress frequently

    • +1

Well, dont be surprised the ones you have at home or those at chemist warehouse are also "cheap ones from China", but priced for profits for the middleman.

For what its worth, my child child care started taking kids tempreture and my child always scanned in at 35.x
Wonder where that thermometer is made in.

      • My company has the infra thermo check everyday, before my temp is always 35.x after calibration, it shows the correct one now.

    • I only use ones tested by choice mag. Currently using an Oricom under the arm which was around $25. Previously had a Braun ear one which cost $120-200 (was desperate at the time for quality one for bub) figuring you see doctors use them all the time. It was always inaccurate. Would show 1-2c below what it was. Just never realised until I tested myself when I was burning up.

  • This one is cheaper for 50 but it does say they are industrial masks not surgical, they look the same and are probably just as effective (not very).

    https://a.aliexpress.com/_dXx4wde

    • +1

Surgical masks have been proven to be very effective at either preventing a respiratory illness or reducing the severity (because viral load is important).

Of course they aren't 100%, but there's plenty of data suggesting around 70% effective at preventing getting the virus.

      • Yep of course they'll be better than none and definitely helpful, I just meant more to do with the price per unit it's doubtful they'll be decent quality.

        • You have to remember even good surgical masks don't cost much to make and there may be a current glut in (worldwide) supply. If you check pre-pandemic prices, these things are easily under like 20c a mask.

I bought some from a 3rd party seller on amazon for under $15 for 50 shipped right before masks were mandated in Melbourne, price then went to $26, then $22 and now back at $19 shipped. Quality is perfectly fine, passes all the legitimacy tests. They'll continue to trend downwards in price.

          • @Tandako: Correct. Im sure when pandemic hit hard many factories were doing 24 hours production to catch up with demand …. After few month and now supply definitely more than demand….

  • Ordered my contactless thermometer from aliexpress in early April, arrived at end of July. Different seller.

  • -3
    • That’s Vietnamese. Care to translate?

      • Basically they replaced the middle layer (filter layer) with toilet paper. The police busted one location, who knows how many left. Many times I got my orders on Aliexpress that was sent from Vietnam so just my opinion. lol

  • ordered, prepared to receive them by end of Oct. I am confident they will come.

  • -1

Ali express - So cheap because half the time they don't even send it. Two years back, place 4 orders in a month. Only one order arrived after 2 months (not in 30 days as was mentioned). The other 3 orders never arrived nor I received any refund.

    • It only takes 10-14days to receive a chinese parcel in Europe with Aliexpress Standard Shipping (free delivery), items are also sold at a lower price (delivered)! If Australia was a bigger market, parcels would be delivered in less than 1 month.

  • Mine arrived today and it's in good condition. Pretty much similar to what you buy local
