$498+Delivery Acer 15.6" Laptop Core i5 2410M (2nd Generation i5) 4GB Ram, 500GB HHD, 2 Year Warranty

100

It has a second generation Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 3 USB ports and 1 of which is a much faster USB 3.0, and a HDMI to connect it to a TV or screen. They can upgrade to 8GB ram for an extra $69 though it's pretty easy to just buy the ram for $40 and install yourself. For $39 they offer an upgrade to 6gb of ram and 3 years of warranty. An odd feature is that it comes with 2 years warranty the first year being international and second national. But overall as an under-$500 its quite decent.

strange you didn't pick on the other typo as well, " its quite descent" is it going downhill… :O or is it 'decent' as in ok?

They can also upgrade to 8GB ram for an extra $69 though its pretty easy

      and

1 of which is a much faster USB 3.0

1st one should be, "But overall, as it is under $500"

      2nd one should be, it's

3rd one is should have no 'a'

      VERY VERY SORRY OP

      • 2nd one ??

        • its is meant for be for "The dog ate its food"

it's is for it is, example "it's pretty easy" = "it is pretty easy"

          ;)

The Acer Aspire 5750G deal (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55425) from Harvey Norman 2 days ago is the same price after cashback. It has exact same specs as this except that it has better CPU and graphics:

    Intel Core i5-2430M (2.4ghz, 3.0ghz Turbo)
nVidia GT520M 1gb graphics (switchable with the onboard Intel HD3000 graphics)

HN deal also includes a copy of Office 2010 Home and Student, which you can choose to replace with accessories up to the value of Office (approx $150).

This deal is okay, but the HN one is much better value IMO :)

    • The specs better.
      *Better CPU
      *Dedicated graphics card
      *Bigger hard drive

  • nice find ! but the link you put up is the wrong one. and are you sure HN will agree to replace office for $150 worth of stuff, i didn't see that part anywhere?

    • Fixed the link in my post, thanks for pointing that out :)

Not sure if it applies to all HN's, but at my local branch the salesman told me that everyone who had been buying laptops with Office 2010 bundles were asked if they wanted to change Office for accessories, and that it had been a popular option with customers. He asked me if I wanted to do the same, so I ended up replacing Office and got a WD 750GB portable hard drive and Belkin laptop desk cushion thing for free instead :D

      • thats a pretty sweet deal ! i wish my local HN did that as well

        • Thats should be That is, or that's. I should be capitalised for the first person usage. Full stops should be used for the end of sentences. No - not an English teacher (a Phys Ed and ICT one though )

          :-p

        • yeah the HN deal is better than this one

  • Please put plus shipping cost to the title.

    • *in

And it does say "+del" in the title.

  • Posted this a week ago, same model with,
    *8gb ram
    *3 year warranty

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55134

    • That one costs $100 more. With this one you can get 6GB ram and 3 years warranty for an extra $39. so the $60 for 2GB more seems a bit expensive.
