Is it just me or is it weird to buy toner for a printer in order to get the printer you need the toner for?
Maybe they have an oversupply of toners… need to get rid of them so they may as well give you a free printer when you restock your toners.

Very odd promotion indeed. But that's missing the point, it's a great deal for 2 x toners and 1 x printer (also with toner inside hopefully) plus free delivery.

for that price..just use it to print lecture notes (if you're at uni) or something…then throw away the printer once you finish your toners. I am pretty sure it will be worth the $80 you spent. Especially since it includes delivery too. Plus I'm pretty sure it has at least a 1 year warranty too. :)
The company doesn't actually sell printers, so this really IS a gift. My only concern would be that now this has been ozbargained, the printers might run out, so you'd be buying two toners that are otherwise useless. I think I'd be inclined to phone and check that they still have printers in stock before ordering the toner.
Sweefu, the reviews are quite reasonable for what you'd expect for a printer that generally sells for this price. Not so good on photographic type prints, but who is going to use a mono printer at this price and expect good photographic results anyway? Print speed seems to be around 11ppm. The biggest complaint seems to be that the space it takes up almost doubles once you attach the paper tray.
Be aware that it probably doesn't come with a USB cable, but then my experience has been that not too many printers DO come with a cable these days anyway.

The Australian Oki site doesn't list this printer, so I suspect it's simply an older model.
The price that this company is selling 2 toners, along with a free printer seems to be around (if not cheaper than) the price that other Aust. suppliers are selling just a single toner, so for many it would probably be a throw away job once these two rolls have run out.I guess the thing to consider is that there are laser printers out there these days for around this price, and there are a LOT of pages printable from just the starter cartridge that comes with them. I seem to recall our Brother cost us not much more than this, although in hindsight we'd have paid a bit more and gone with wireless.
has anyone found out whether the two toner cartridges in this deal are original or refills?
