the 1$ for month has a catch, least it did 1 month ago, basically 1$ for first month but 13$ for next month. and you cant remember your credit card like bryans said.
its not a great deal, better to just get 50$ 12month+2month bonus xbox live card.
It's better to get 14 months for $50 = $3.5 per month than get another month for $1? Just spend the 2 minutes on the phone, its not hard.
You've clearly never had to ring up Microsoft for any issues. It's made much much harder than it has to be. Terrible customer service.
2 minute on the phone? more like wait on hold for half an hour then have to talk to someone from oversee with extremely bad English. The phone bill will probably cost 5 time more than the subscription itself.
I did the $1 gold deal last month, called up yesterday and was a painless process. The rep was very nice and took under $3 minutes
I personally think you should be able to remove auto renewal online but it wasn't too much of a hassle to call up.
negging this is a bit harsh. considering the frequency of all these $1 deals, ive managed to get almost 12 months of live with these. making it more than worthwhile
yes better off buying a 12 month sub for like $45. too easy to get caught in the trap with these $1 deals and end up paying more.

Ok, couldn't see this because I was on the promo 3 months already, registered my free rewards months (which btw is treated solely as a 1 month card) and then saw the 1 month for one dollar. So, in the end I got 5 months for $16, can't complain.
