      • Few restaurants does it doesn't mean all restaurants do it. I got couple set (2 curries, 2 rice, and 2 naans) for $17.

  • +4

Is it me or is Indian food so much more expensive compared to other cuisines…

    • Indian food has lots of costly ingredients and its a complicated mix that takes skilled chefs to make it right. Just a Tandoori Masala requires more than 12 spices. Unlike us taking the steak and BBQ it on a flame.

  • -4

Total waste of ##### time. I choose a local Indian. spend 15 minutes creating an order on a painfully slow app and then when I go to checkout it says all the dishes are 'no longer available'. Bait and switch anyone .. :-( .. !!

    • +1

I havent had this issue at all. Choose from the local food fest banner at the top of the app, those stores are participating.

  • My favourite Indian restaurant is not in the list.

    • -5

What 'list'? How did you display a list??

      • +1

Click on the food fest banner in the app

Uber Eats must be one of the worst ever app. Its plainly painful to try to get anything. App has been DELETED and I shall never order through them.

Yup, just had a delicious curry for lunch 😊

    • +2

      Yes! Had Biryani!

    • Yep, a few times. HSP, Chinese, Bubble Tea and tonight… a spicy lamb kofta with garlic naan and a creamy mint sauce

Ordered Large Vindalloo lamb and cheese naan

Not as cheap but $14 delivered

      • Can an Indian food expert clarify this to me:

I ordered a cheese naan and when it arrived I looked at it and it's stuffed with green capsicums and onions (yuck) - is that an error from the restaurant or that's how they're meant?

        • +1

Doesn't sound right. Think they gave you the wrong naan. It should be as described. I wouldn't be complaining if I got extra veg but understandable if you just wanted cheese.

@Ryder08: Thanks for replying mate :)

they tasted like spanish omelettes :( which was not something I had wanted

        • +1

Never, ever had a cheese naan with onion or capsicum in it. I’m had my fair share of naans but I’m no Indian food expert lol.

    Great! Worked! Thanks

This and 10$ cashback on 20$ spend through westpac rewards has made for some cheap eats.

gotta say, loving these daily deals. up to 50% off! so good.

I'm ordering pick up to cut delivery fees and support restaurant more, as they get a bigger cut. will get 3 or 4 curries and freeze if can't get through all in the next few days.

  • Veggie samosa, large chicken curry and large beef vindaloo for $21.50 on their way. Thanks OP!

  • +1

My order came to $75 before discount, it would normally be $55 if I didn't go through ubereats. I got $20 off so paid $55, then there are multiple popups to tip the driver and tip the restaurant. Ubereats taking the p155 surely.

  • Your order isn’t eligible for these:
    Enjoy 50% off. Conditions apply.
    Expires Jun 27, 2020 4pm

EDIT: I see, it is not expired - the restaurant does not participate.

  • Potatoe and Beef Vindaloo, rice and cheese man for $13.19 delivered. Pretty good.

I've participated a lot on these deals but tonight takes the cake.

The indian restaurant was absolutely SMASHED with uber eats orders. They couldn't fulfil the large number of orders that came through and at one time, had 8+ people standing around waiting for their orders. The app said mine was ready to pick up at 5:57pm but when I got there, they said it would be another 10. 10 mins later, they said kitchen didn't get the order and will be another 10 mins while they start making it now. I got my food 25 mins after it said available for pick up.

Even tho uber eats is "trying" to support local, they haven't told restaurants about these 50% deal so they cannot prepare. I can see a lot of people leaving negative reviews because of what happened today. One of the restaurant staff was even telling uber eats delivery drivers to call users and tell them it will be another 10-15 mins.

This will hurt local restaurants more in the long run as people avoid restaurants with lower/bad reviews.

    • +2

Are all orders automatically confirmed though, or does the restaurants have an option to review and confirm the order? If it's the latter than the restaurants need to ensure they're able to handle all the orders they're accepting to fulfill.

      • Restaurants have to confirm within I think it's one minute. After that Uber automatically cancels the order.

    • Mine was over 1 hour later than ubers estimated wait time

  • -3

If you look into their kitchen. You would not like to order any indian food.

    • Whose kitchen?

      • Jamies.

        • Jamie S? I used to work with him and on the one occasion I saw his house the kitchen seemed fine, he was more of a bbq guy but if he made indian food I'd try it.

          • @mapax: Jamie O

  • I tried entering code. Doesn’t work. Am I doing something wrong?

    • +1

Edit. I worked it out. I’m dumb!

  • +1

So frustrating. Trying to order from my local and only one of them is on uber eats. They keep switching to being unavailable. Should've ordered in advance, been trying over an hour now.

    • Gave up and ordered elsewhere. Delivery fee counts towards minimum spend. So in the end got the full discount but less food because the place I wanted stopped accepting orders :(

And dinner is now at 10pm instead of 7pm yikes

  • Ordered pickup, ubereats claim d estimated pickup time was 20-30 mins. After the order is confirmed and they have taken my money I see that the time changed to 1.5 hours :(

  • Pricing jacked 30% here and can’t pick up. Useless!
