A new/refreshed model that was released in December 2019, fairly standard spec, but with the features of added side USB hub and the stand it virtually moved this S series into the P line up. This is more a work/general use oriented monitor, look elsewhere for >60fps gaming or productivity workloads that require good colour accuracy (actually it does mention 72% NTSC, but not an expert here and don't know how the different CIEs translate to sRGB…might be sufficient for non-professional workloads?).

It's usually sold for ~$258 on Amazon, so ~10% off at the moment. Dell's website still listed it for absurd $478.99 yesterday but "discounted" it to $335.29 today.

  • I once ask the Dell support about these monitors (P and S and SE line) as some RRP is in the 200s and some in the 300-400, after about 10 minutes, he told they are the same panel except some comes with a DP cable and some with HDMI and the SE comes without VESA, so take the RRP listed with a grain of salt

    • Yea I wouldn't doubt, the features that distinguish the P and S/SE line up are the ports and stand really.

    • How about the U line? I have a U2417H, bought used on Facebook. The quality seems acceptable to me. The only problem I have is the reflection when there is sunlight from the side.
Thinking of buying another one to get a dual monitor setup.

      • I think the panel on the U is better

      • The U line comes colour calibrated. They dont calibrate on other series. May or may not be the same panels but i suspect they are the same, just calibrated.

  • +3

We got 3 of them at the office. Brightness is quite poor, I wouldn't recommend it.

    • Thanks for sharing the experience.

Do they reach the claimed 250 nits?

I was thinking 250 nits should be okay for office/home use =S

      • +1

It's ok to use. Since you cannot notice its brightness and color after using a while. But if I got a choice, I would probably spend bit more and get something better.

  • Looks exactly like P series. I got two of P series during click frenzy sale. Not much bargain during that time but this seems good value combining with the cash rewards.

  • What does this even mean

3-year Advanced Exchange Service so that if a replacement becomes necessary, it will be shipped to you the next business day during your 1-year Limited Hardware Warrantyi.

    • yea it read funny to me too. It was exactly how Dell had on its website, I'd assume it has 3 years warranty on its monitors due to the wording.

  • -1

At 8 ms or 5 ms response rate, I feel it is overpriced.
