    • Shame! I just ordered one without looking at the screen specs, I thought it would be the same as the other Inspiron 2in1s.

    • True, this is what stopped me. Everything else is perfect for me!

Any other options out there, similar spec but better screen? What is the price difference?

      • True! It's a darker display, with a smaller colour space. They're just specs. Are these deal breakers? If you're a content creator, maybe you need 100% sRGB, do you work outside a lot, so maybe you need a good 300nit+ panel? Otherwise it's all just factored into the price. You're getting a really solid build, with a big SSD, lots of RAM (which you should/could upgrade to get the most of the AMD chip), good parts, and nice features - some (albeit simpler) pen support, USB PD charging, 2-in-1 design, for $1350. Compare it to other products on the market to see if it's good value - at a quick glance, the trade-offs for the price look good! But i havent compared in detail to other products.

    • In the reddit thread, "gorcorps :
FYI, I saw this too and chatted with Dell today, and the panel has a max brightness of 300 nits (the 220 is the "typical"). Still not great, but I thought some (including HP) gave nit ratings a max instead of an average (but I may be wrong). So it may be better than the "lesser" screen from HP (250nit) but not as good as the 400nit one.
Yes, that's why I asked. You can see in the manual that it's 220nits typical (not max). I asked what the max was, as that's what I believe most other companies use for ratings, and she said it was 300 nit max (220 typical). You can see in the manual that it's 220nits typical (not max). Looks like pretty nice specs and form. I don't think the price is a bargain though.
    A few hardware points,
Is the RAM soldered, is it duel channel? Big performance impact for IGPs.
The screen is pretty poor quality. If you need a nice screen you wouldn't buy this or you'd wanna check if it can be upgraded (check Aliexpress).

    Pluses,
    14"
    512 GB SSD
USB-C supporting PD and displayport (but HDMI port is only v1.4b)
    Touch display.

You can do better for that price but not bad if it suits your needs.

Omkar's comment above contains useful info: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/8913628/redir

"The AMD does however have two SO-DIMMS and can support up to 32GB of memory versus the Intel LPDDR3 8GB soldered."

It comes with 1 x 16GB stick as stock.

Personally, the screen quality/brightness is the only let down for me. Do you have any other suggestions that would be considered a better option?

      is it duel channel?

      (do they fight?)

      16GB, 1x16GB, DDR4, 3200MHz
if it's truly 1x16gb it's NOT Dual channel

      • He said it has two SO-DIMMS slots but comes with one 16 GB SO-DIMM. You'd have to install another 16 GB SO-DIMM to enable duel channel.
Then spend another ~$150 on a nice screen if you can find a compatible one. In the end would be a nice $1,600 notebook.

    • I’m thinking of pushing the button on this one. To me it looks pretty good in terms of build quality, specs and price. Any examples of where you can do better?

  • It's only Single Channel as well, so if you buy one you should buy either another 16GB Stick or 2 X 8GB's.
