Super heavy if you cant carry 1.74 kg
This is all a kid needs for a BYOD school laptop, however
It is a little big for a BOYD device. 14" is more suitable.
Screen is a little crappy but should be ok for indoor school use.
Also, some kids prefer a touch screen which this is not. So get used to using a mouse.
Bought one of these for my son.. When i try to log onto the domain it says that Windows 11 is too new and cannot join.

Unfortunately no, I did not. I refuse to downgrade it to win 10 as support runs out in Oct. Appreciate the offer tho.
Does it have Win 11 Home or Pro?
If Home you can't join it to a domain, you'll need to upgrade the OS.
Got one of these and love it , for the price… it can game well enough too with low settings

I have a LOQ at similar specs. Runs fine for most things I play… which is stuff from 5 years ago or so.

I feel like cybersecurity shouldn't require much, but I'd personally rather smaller laptops if it's going to be carried around all day.

I learned the lesson from a HP laptop purchased way back in 2017, which is the same situation (only one USB Type-C® 5Gbps port). If you want a HP laptop of full-function, go get a business grade one.
