  • How heavy is it? Can't seem to find on the website

  • This is all a kid needs for a BYOD school laptop, however
It is a little big for a BOYD device. 14" is more suitable.
Screen is a little crappy but should be ok for indoor school use.
Also, some kids prefer a touch screen which this is not. So get used to using a mouse.

    • Bought one of these for my son.. When i try to log onto the domain it says that Windows 11 is too new and cannot join.

Did you get it from us? Reach out & we can help you downgrade to W10.

        • -2

Unfortunately no, I did not. I refuse to downgrade it to win 10 as support runs out in Oct. Appreciate the offer tho.

      • Does it have Win 11 Home or Pro?

If Home you can't join it to a domain, you'll need to upgrade the OS.

  • Got one of these and love it , for the price… it can game well enough too with low settings

    • Which games in particular?

      • +2

        Tetris

let's see (noting I personally place low value on high quality visuals and am a very casual gamer)
        - Snowbreak Containment
        - LOTR Return to Moria (FSR performance)
        - Beyond all Reason
        - Deep Rock Galactic
        - Path of Exile
        - Dying light (FSR performance)
        - Borderlands 3
        etc

        • Same. Graphics are not that important to me these days. That's what consoles are for.

I have a LOQ at similar specs. Runs fine for most things I play… which is stuff from 5 years ago or so.

is tjis good for a new uni student studying cybersecurity? ir should I buy a more powerful one?

    • +2

I feel like cybersecurity shouldn't require much, but I'd personally rather smaller laptops if it's going to be carried around all day.

  • Windows home or pro?

    • Operating system: Windows 11 Home

    Genocide funding scum are HP.
Anyhow was after something similar and went for this… https://www.harveynorman.com.au/acer-aspire-go-15-3-inch-i3-…

Since your site also selling 'Refurbed' laptops, but this one is brand NEW sealed, right?

    • Yes, anything that is refurb is clearly marked.

  • +1

Just FYI these have pretty weak hinges. Not very well built

  • Great specs for the price!

To save you a quick google on the 5625u:
    6c12t Zen 3
    Vega 7 iGPU

For those who want to connect two external monitors, this is a no-go. Besides the HDMI port, it has only one USB Type-C® 5Gbps port, which does NOT support external displays."

  • +2

I learned the lesson from a HP laptop purchased way back in 2017, which is the same situation (only one USB Type-C® 5Gbps port). If you want a HP laptop of full-function, go get a business grade one.

  • Went down to $600 again, then $999, then now $629…
