Purchased this online through Optus, decent handset normally $270. Also received a $20 off at checkout, total paid $179. With a bonus $30 free phone credit…. Bargain!!
Not a bad phone too, large display and huge battery, for under $200

Single sim
I had one of these. The screen responsiveness/accuracy and overall speed was unbearable. It felt like a Galaxy S1 or S2. Even debloated. Wouldn't recommend at all, unless all budget devices are this bad.
Oppo A52 better than this?
A52 wins.
My kids play Roblox and Minecraft and both look and run better on the A52.
Just be aware this phone has micro usb.
It's biggest competitor in this price range is the Samasung Galaxy A20 which has USB-C & Super AMOLED 720 x 1560.
Spec-wise Realme C3 is still ahead I think:
Realme C3:
MediaTek G70 - Win
64 GB/4 GB - Win
6.5" IPS LCD (720 x 1560)
Android 10 - Win
5000 mAh - Win
Micro USB
NFC
B28
Samsung A20:
Exynos 7884
32 GB/3 GB
6.4" Super AMOLED (720 x 1560) - Win
Android 9
4000 mAh
USB-Type C - Win
NFC
B28
Samsung A20 can be upgraded to Android 10 now.
No expert in this area, same same to me…. price point is a key and large battery for budget phone
@Chole999: The A20 has been posted for $179 a lot recently and I have no doubt it will come up again soon.
4000 mAh in the A20 is by no means a small battery and it can be easily unlocked for around $6. Not sure how easy the Realme C3 is to unlock.
For most people micro usb is a deal breaker in 2020.
Correction, the C3 only has 3 GB ram, the storage is 64 GB so still a win
Just beware of the fine print :-
"Network Compatibility: Handset has been modified to be optimised for the Optus network and performance on other networks is not guaranteed. Handset has also been modified to have its dual SIM capability removed and it is a single SIM device. Please refer to the Specifications section for specific network compatibility."
Even if you get it unlocked, it's possibly not going to perform the same as if you purchase an unlocked device from a non-Telco.
"Handset has been modified to be optimised for the Optus network "
They do this a lot. It's one reason I won't consider them.
What kind of optimisations have they done in the past, apart from making it single sim? How are they noticeable? Also are these software or hardware changes?
The issue was discussed in this Samsung Galaxy A30 post and there was no evidence they were optimising or modifying the phone.
Here are the bands stated on the Optus website for the Realme C3.
3G Band
850/900/1700/1900/21004G Band
2100/1900/1800/1700/850/2600/900/800/700/2600/2300/2500
I'm not an expert on what bands the other networks use so if anyone can see what's missing please let us know?
Optus don't use Band 5 [850], whereas that is the "core" band for telstra 3 and 4g reception and was also used by Vodaphone. Optus have sold phones that normally have band 5, but don't in the Optus version, and the disclaimer in the small print serves to both indicate this and suggest that this phone may not receive band 5.
Correct. But looks like the C3 does have Band 5 for 3G as stated above.
@ozhunter68: Whirpool state that Telstra only use it for 3G and Voda for 4G, that's it.
Regardless the C3 has 850MHz (B5) in 3G and 4G, so no issues there.
@Arthur Dunger: Yes, that's my go to website to check bands also. Good to be clear with the Voda/Telstra re-framing of some 3G to 4G bands 850MHz (B5) & 2100MHz (B1).
single sim? jbhifi has the dual sim in specs?
